In order to find out youll have to first understand the "Philosophy of God" or "Balance Theory" which is basically the idea that God is a perfect balance of many positive yet conflicting virtues. For example Justice and Mercy, its impossible to have 100% of both at the same time so therefore they must be balanced. Long story short, God loves humanity thus He created us but He also knows that not all humans will love Him back so He needs a way to get rid of those who dont, but at the same time He still loves them and this is where Hell comes into play and also where things become blurry because we dont actually know for sure what Hell is. In my opinion it is not a eternal punishment but rather a eternal destruction of the soul. This theory not only coincides with the beliefs of the early Church fathers (to my knowledge) but it also doesnt contradict the morality of God. I'm deciding on visiting a church. I'm not sure of all the denominations, but the Catholic doctrine is perhaps closest to my heart (out of all that I know of), Orthodox coming second. Does denomination matter, if so, which is the true church? Then touching on Catholicism itself, there are many smaller organizations in the Church itself: Benedictines, Franciscans, Norbertines, etc. What's with that? A Norbertine church is the closest to me, should I start attending and get baptized there? People fall away from God, because He doesn't shine any of His light in their lives. They struggle and follow God's laws, and understand them, but then God just sends the world and it's demons after His sons. This makes them believe that He either doesn't exist, is incompetent, or is somewhat evil. I curse God every day. I didn't ask for any of this, and I revoked His permission to keep me on Earth. But still, He never speaks to me or does anything positive in my life. I'm not asking for material things - I just want Him to show me that He exists, and that all of this is still part of His plan - but He never answers. Letter of James to the Jewish diaspera 45 AD The letter written by "James the Just" brother of Jesus to Jesus-believing Jews scattered around. Written around a decade after the death and resurrection of Jesus. John writes that Jesus' own brothers did not believe in him, however Paul writes the resurected Jesus later appeared to James. James was a major leader along with Peter in the Church at Jerusalem. This letter was written before the council of Jerusalem 50 AD mentioned by Luke in Acts of the Apostles. The council confirmed that Jesus was saviour for the gentiles and Jewish traditionalism was not needed for salvation and both Jews and gentiles were made equal and capable of receiving God's Spirit. Peter says circumcision and the law of Moses are not burdened to the gentiles. James' letter is therefore still very traditionalist in works and law as related to salvation though does not contradict Christianity but statements were made clearer by Paul's later letters. The letter is a message from a major Church leader to the rest of the church which at time was reletivly small and vastly Jewish. Written to those who had known Jesus over the 3 years he taught and 10 or so years since as believers and Apostles with the divine gift speaking other languages preached and sent out the Good News. James' loosely references many of Jesus' parables and teachings before any of the established accounts were written but likely small basic sayings and events of Jesus may have been written down by the Church to be remembered at this point. in 54 AD Paul references Jesus' death and resurrection for sins as being in writings. James does not mention the death and resurrection of Jesus but does however refer to himself as a servant of God and Jesus who he calls Lord rather than Messiah and alludes to his return indicating he clearly saw Jesus as divine. The letter along with the first half of the book of Acts represents the early period of followers of Jesus before Paul's missionary Journeys which began 47 AD. The fact the religion survivded those 15 years proves how real the ressurection was. If they all lied about the resurection and if Jesus performed no miricles you'd think the whole thing would die out pretty quickly. The alternative reality is these people kept meeting together lying to one another, agreeing to all be in on a lie for years and years while being attacked and loving a man who apparently mislead them for 3 years. But the truth is James like the others were assured at last Jesus was Lord by his resurrection, as a simple healing here or there could easily be dismissed as it was by his enemies surely it's hard to call a human healer the God known to the Jews, the great invisible supreme God nor was Jesus what many Jews demanded in their cultural way at the time from the Messiah. Jesus' did not build an empire like Muhammad or even a small nation in fact Jesus to the outside observer failed. Jesus despite leading a humble life also made the greatest claims one could make especially by humbly referring to himself by proxy as Messiah and God, as Judge of the world and as all righteous people being gifts to him. His early followers staying the course for 15 years are testament to his truth by resurrection and it's steady growth truth of the Holy Spirit. As Paul and Peter remark he showed himself to a select few and about 400 total had seen him alive again. James died 62 AD being stoned to death in Jerusleum asking the Lord to forgive his attackers.

I think it's about time Christians stop listening to secular skeptics when it comes to chronology of the New Testament. Matthew was an accountant, he probably was interested In recording the events and sayings of Jesus while they travelled. Though it was no doubt a team effort especially after Jesus ascended. Matthew and the other apostles wrote it in Aramaic and of course Matthew wouldn't put his name on the copies because why would he, so he can get famous or get stoned to death. But early Christians of the later century attest to his authorship. Paul references Jesus dying for our sins in being "writings" and while you can get that from the Old Testament and Matthew he then says according to the "writings" he died and rose three days later which has to be a reference to one of the accounts of Jesus. Matthew Mark and Luke record Jesus saying he would raise in three days. Matthew was probably written 50 AD at the very latest but probably closer to just a few years or less after Jesus. The only reason people say otherwise is because they don't like that fact, but if we really believe the account of Jesus then it follows there's no reason why Matthew wouldn't be written while the memory of Jesus was fresh in fact the outline of Matthew likely written while Jesus was alive. Mark shortened the account for gentiles and added what he knew. As far as we know Matthew could have shortened his own account taking out all the prophetic references for gentles. Another reason for an early date frankly is I think Matthew seems a bit rushed and sloppy trying to prove Jesus was messiah. He stops to reference the scriptures but many times Jesus' own words which fulfill prophecy just slip by Matthew and I think Matthew sort of stretches a bit with trying to relate things from scripture as messianic. Afterall one really doesn't understand all that Jesus fulfilled and referenced why and how simply by reading the New Testament. You still need to read the old prophets to understand. Matthew was written to prove Jesus was messiah more so then the other three. But honestly he could have done a better job, I think it was written early in a rush for the Jews rejecting Jesus. The Didache quotes Matthew and I'd put that at 65 AD. What we call "Matthew" was the main source, it is literally the Q document, written and finished by the Jerusalem church with help from some rabbis like Nicodemous. We need to just think the obvious instead of starting from the secular skeptic ideas and working down. Traditionally 37 AD has been used, I'd say could be even earlier. Theophilus could have just been a bit dismissive of the Gospels demanding one be written specifically for him or he could have been a great guy wanting to get this stuff written afterall both Like and Acts which were written to him didn't disappear into history, Theophilius could have desired to get them mass produced.

I've nearly sorted everything. As for Hebrews now. Why is the letter without authorship. It is unlikely to have lost the name by accident. To the point people say Priscilla wrote it and her name removed because she's a woman but there's problems with that idea. I see the main context here: "Know ye that the brother Timotheus is released, with whom, if he may come more shortly, I will see you." This person was clearly writing to someone or people, you don't just send a letter those days with no name and only this for context outside the sermon. 60 AD: Paul and Timothy are under house arrest in Rome. 61 AD: Paul and Timothy don't mention being prisoners. And they are with Luke and Demas now. AAAAH I just thought about it while typing this. I know what happened. Demas was never mentioned in Acts. Paul and Timothy go to Rome. Luke implies he was there with them. Demas is mentioned three times and look at the evolution. 60 AD " Markus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lukas, my fellow-workmen!" 61 AD "Salute you doth Lukas, the beloved physician, and Demas;" 64 AD "For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia." "Luke the beloved... and Demas." and then a few years later Paul has no good words. Acts is a very optimistic book which is why if it was written after Paul's death it wouln't mention his death plus the patron he wrote to may have already known and wanted more info after hearing of Paul's death. Being optimistic I think Luke snubbed Demas from any mention in acts because of what he did. "ooh it's not like everyone gets mentioned there's so many peolple, what about this Aristarchus character mentioned in Paul's letters huh!?" Oh but Aristarchus is mentioned in Acts, three times despite never doing anything, just mentioned as being there. So is it possible Luke didn't want to mention Demas on purpose because of his actions Paul alludes to. AND IS IT POSSIBLE that the name of the author of Hebrews was removed because it was..Demas. *lightning strike* dun dun dun. Demas went to Rome to retrieve Timothy, while at Rome he wrote Hebrews. He didn't mention Paul because he didn't care about him. Unlike every other Paul letter Hebrews addresses no churches or people it claims no authority makes no acusations. Demas' name was removed because he went apostate. Well at least he abandoned Paul and who knows. There's a few other things but it's just a silly theory that came suddenly, other people have probably thought about it I don't know. I do know I'll put Hebrews as 61 AD and at this point I think looking at all the arguments I have sorted out the New Testament book timeline well enough and I think it is much better when you read them in that order.

I don't know if there's something I'm missing that just debunks my theory right away but Paul mentions Demas as a fellow workman along side big names like Luke and Mark he was clearly not a small fish. And the Church chose him to go to Rome to retrieve Timothy or meet up with Paul and Timothy and once they were out of prison he probably just wanted to go back home. He was some kind of preacher or pastor or evangelist. Have we not seen those fall away from the faith. I believe the Bible always gives context if you look hard enough. Here we have an example of a preacher loving the present world and abandoning Paul whatever that really means. Paul wrote that in his death letter. I used to place it just before Nero's persecution but obviously it was during and so Demas couldn't handle the persecution and left Rome and maybe became a backsliding Christian. Not repenting for running from persecution and if he did write Hebrews while in Rome and didn't mention Paul clearly he didn't like him and he justified himself leaving him. Ain't that a fun theory. The Bible giving us an example of Demas people. He also could have written it at one other point but yeah. The timeline stuff givin me a headache, I should start doing Bible Prophecy next because Daniel and Revelation are easy peesy. I also wanted to mention the problem of Revelation when it was written.

Domitian is the king mentioned in Revelation and not Nero. Of course we have historical reference that that's when Revelation was written. Domitian is also just as antiChrist like as Nero. However it is strange since historical reference also says John gave Revelation to the Churches after his banishment ended which was after Domitian died. So to the Churches the King that still is wouldn't be a relevant passage anymore. It's possible the spirit of the antiChrist is what is mentioned, Ceaser in a general sense is the sixth king who is. "But Nero = 666!" Nonsense, the way you calculate this is illogical. "But the beginning of Revelation says it must come to pass soon." Well of that applies to the whole of Revelation it never happened, the literal translation is behoove to past which is more like it must come to past so long as conditions are right and so since the seven churches repented they avoided judgement. But that's all that had to come soon. The first section of Revelation are the things that were to come to past shortly which was about the seven churches then it makes a clear change into the prophetic vision. We know the seven churches repented after receiving John's Revelation because they all came to him afterward desiring him to write his own testimony of Lord Jesus. The main historical reference is in a commentary of Revelation by Victorinus in 259 AD who speaks with common certainty of when John wrote. The other problem for a 66 AD Nero date is that Timothy was still leading the Church in Ephesus. Paul's final letter didn't indicate complete failure and debauchery of the churches like Revelation describes.

As for the pool in the Gospel of John. John says "there is a pool in Jeruslum by the sheepgate". If he wrote this after 70 AD it wouldn't make sense since Jeruslum was completely leveled by the Romans, there was no longer a pool. In fact an eye witness Jewish rebel fighter at the time says literally nothing of Jerusalem was left besides the Roman fort which destroyed it also known as the "Temple mount" but that's another story. Should we expect John or anyone around him to know this and insist on saying "there was a pool". They knew of the destruction of Jerusalem but not the extent of it that it was total. There is also perhaps no need to mention the destruction of the Temple. The letter of Barnabas mentions the Temple destruction but only in its own section. When he recounts Jesus at the temple he makes no reference of its destruction. Likewise John doesn't mention the destruction when recording Jesus. From Barnabas' letter we also know Jewish Christians understood the Temple was old and dead already and unimportant.

Another reason Luke could have wrote after Paul's death. Luke never mentions James' death. Luke mentions James as far as 57 AD, Luke says him and Paul went to the Jerusalem church to meet with James and the elders. He doesn't mention Peter oddly enough, maybe Peter really did travel to literal Babylon during this time with Mark and Silas or somewhere east. James likely died in 62 AD right after Festus like Josephus says, once they heard Festus was gone the sanhedrin took control. Though keep in mind Luke does randomly mention Apostle James' death in 44 AD. So not mentioning Peter, Paul or James dying surely is crazy. Acts ends with saying Paul preached in Rome for two years. Paul said he'd go to Spain and Clement clearly implies that he did. He must have went to Spain for only 1 or 2 years before returning to Rome being arrested and dying. Luke doesn't mention he left to Spain. You'd think he would if he was writing this while Paul was in Spain. Luke must have finished Acts by the end of those two years he preached in Rome. James likely died around that time but the news never reached him to include it.

Wait a minute noooo, I have problems. You expect me to believe that Luke wrote Acts at the end of 62 AD after Paul preached there for two years. But Acts is his second book to Theophilus, he wrote the Gospel first. So Luke wrote the Gospel when? If I have to move Acts to 62 AD down from 64 AD then I have to move Gospel of Luke from 62 AD to where. Probably 59 AD while Paul was imprisoned by Felix (not anime cat boy Felix the other one). So you really expect me to believe that Luke wrote his Gospel while... actually it makes sense. Paul was imprisoned in Caesarea. What did Luke do during that time, we know he was there before the imprisonment and after it. For 2 years what did Luke do. Well it depends did Luke stay in Caesarea or go to Jerusleum. Acts 23 has no "we, us, our" language when Paul goes to Caesarea it says; he did this, he did that, this is what happened to Paul. That language doesn't return until Acts 27 "And when our sailing to Italy was determined". So Luke probably didn't go to Caesarea with Paul and the 470 soliders (lot of security for Paul, sanhedrin really wanted him dead) So while Luke stayed in Jerusalem for under 2 years before going to Caesarea he could have written the Gospel using the Jerusalem churches documents and getting reports from the Apostles and others who were there. This would mean Luke was written 59 AD. The Gospel of Luke has to be written before Acts, it plainly says so in Acts itself. And Acts I have to say was written before Paul even left Rome and certainly before he or James died.

And with my opinion (Biblical fact rather) that Mark returned from Anatolia to Jerusalem and the best time frame that Mark, Silas and Peter could have written First Peter is 59 AD then I know why The three Gospels are similar. Because they were all written in the Jerusalem church and Mark and Luke written around the exact same time perhaps literally the same year. Well of course, why would they be separated by decades, that really is just a random baseless assumption. John is so different because it was written long after when Mark and Luke which all stem from Jerusalem. After all where else would you write the Gospels. I purpose (to myself) moving Mark from 55 AD Anatolia to 59 AD when Luke and Mark were both in Jerusalem. "Ahh," you say "But you pointed out Luke doesn't mention Peter in Jerusalem when he and Paul arrives." This is my biggest issue. Why does Luke say 'James and the elders' and no mention of Peter. If First Peter was written in 59 AD with Mark and Silas and they were at Jerusalem. Ahh but Paul and Luke arrived in 58 or even 57 AD. Peter might have been gone when they arrived but came to Jerusleum shortly after and why would he do that, because of all the commotion of course, sanhedren stirring up the people against Paul and probably the church there too. I hate to keep talking but there's more. If we accept both Mark and Luke written 58-59 AD. Mark wrote because before returning to Anatolia he wanted to bring a shorter or Gentile targeted Gospel to them and he wrote with help from the Jerusalem church with Peter. Luke wrote for a patron named Theophilus unfortunately we know nothing of who he is. Perhaps he met Theophilus while Paul and Luke were on the third mission. "This Jesus character you preach of I want a full report if you don't mind. I'll pay for it." "Okay well we're headed back to Jerusalem I can write for you there when I talk to the Apostles." The problem with both of these is Matthew. I believe Matthew was written 42 AD. Matthew is always what we see quoted and 55 AD Paul references some kind of writing about Jesus' death and resurrection after 3 days and he says it as if the Corinthians had such a writing already. I want to make things easy by saying Matthew was done before James' letter but the reality seems more like a proto-Matthew/Q document which was passed out by the Jerusalem church which Mark and Luke used for different purposes along with having eye witnesses in Jerusalem 58-59 AD. This may also be why Peter is mentioned so much in the Gospels, because as far as we know he was the only Apostle there in the Jerusalem church, the other Apostles went adventuring so most things came from Peter's perspective. I think also the reason Peter stayed was because that's what Jesus told him to do, look after the church, he must have felt terrible when he was gone for a short while and Paul showed up and got arrested and things went crazy, he missed it. Likewise it's interesting Jesus says that John is to tarry, that is to linger around not doing much. Until of course his time many decades later when he wrote tons of stuff. And there's more ro say about that. Tradition says so I've heard, I need to get sources, that Matthew preached in Judea 15 years before leaving. That's a time frame up to at best 50 AD to get Matthew finished. And just based on the Bible I'd say he was first but again why didn't Luke just send Theophilus Matthew. Why did Luke write his own thing. Unless proto-Matthew was only partly finished and then... I'm tired. We do have some line of logic though: James quotes "Matthew" 44 AD Paul references some kind of written Gospel 55 AD Luke writes Acts 62 AD Didache quotes Matthew ??AD Luke Gospel has to be before Acts and Acts cannot be later than 62 AD it's illogical. When you piece everything together you get Mark and Luke together around 58 AD in Jerusalem using some kind of document. If the document was proto-Matthew when was Matthew finished. If the document was finished Matthew why did Like bother to write his own account for Theophilus. Mark has purpose for his Gospel, it is simple and short and gentile oriented. I think I have to really go through the differences of the Gospels to figure out the blues clues.

The reason we have Paul is because he's a Pharisee and therefore wise in the scriptures. It is him who clarifies the relation between the Old Testament and Jesus and other theological issues. When you read the New Testament in order they were written as I have suggested you really notice the stark contrast of James and Galatians, I speak boldly to say they practically contradict each other. Paul had to establish things even his first disciples did not understand. Although even Peter came to his own realisation and was surprised when we saw gentiles could be saved by the holy spirit and this is all a few decades after Jesus. So while there is development that happened in the Church from James to the Jerusalem council to Romans and then the Gospel of John. The development we see is a more and more bold understanding of Jesus, based on the Old Testament but also on Jesus, the Gospel account doesn't contradict the letters of the church. Of course even the Gospel writers themselves point out how things Jesus said were not understood until later. If Paul was needed as a religious wiseman, then why wasn't he part of the twelve from the beginning. Why choose people who were likely all less than wise in scripture and then have a scripture man come later. Again I point out Matthew frankly was not the best for pointing out scripture that was related to Christ. Paul had to come later for reasons. Reasons.

I am going to re-state my very true theory that Demas wrote Hebrews. First off I purpose Hebrews is not at all like Paul, it doesn't have the weight and authority and I can make a whole post just disproving Paul wrote it. Now I do have a slight problem, because I place Acts of the Apostles written 64 AD and Second Timothy 65 AD. Again, Demas' first mention: Paul praises him as a worker along with Luke, Mark and another common guy in Acts. Second mention: Paul sounds dismissive of Demas. Third mention: Demas betrays Paul and loves the world. Demas is not mentioned in Acts. Luke constantly mentions names just to mention them but not Demas. I though Luke removed his presence because of his betrayal of Paul, but that didn't happen until a year later after Acts was written. But it's likely Demas had a slow decline and Luke very much might have seen him as a bad egg, maybe even annoyed by him and so scrubbed him from any mention in Acts. And it follows that if Luke is willing to remove Demas from Acts then why not the church remove his name from Hebrews after hearing about what he did to Paul and possibly Demas just left the faith altogether. Note, most historians seem to agree the writers name was purposefully removed, it is very unlikely to somehow have been lost and you just don't write a note like this without explicitly stating who you are. Also note by the end of the 1st century the author was already lost and unknown. The only context clues from Hebrews: "Pray for us" "Know ye that the brother Timothy is released, with whom, if he may come more shortly, I will see you." "Salute all those leading you, and all the saints; salute you doth those from Italy:" From this I concluded the person came to Italy in 61 AD when Timothy and Paul were imprisoned in Rome. And indeed we know Demas was in Rome in 61 AD. Paul writes to Philemon in Anatolia in 60 AD, happily stating him and Timothy are under arrest in Rome. He greets Demas and Luke and Mark others. Paul in 61 AD writes to the Colossians and mentions Demas and Luke and Mark and others are with him. Paul mentions Timothy but not as a prisoner. Paul does however mention himself being a prisoner twice and even says he's a fellow prisoner with Aristarchus (who is another interesting background person through the Church). So from this, Paul tells the church in eastern Anatolia (we're not for sure which city in Anatolia Philemon was in) that him and Timothy are imprisoned. The whole team then goes out to him. Within a year Timothy is out of prison. Demas sends Hebrews back to his church that he is pastor of. Demas came for Timothy and/or he doesn't care for Paul, which is why he doesn't mention him. Plus why would he mention Paul still being in prison if the Church back in Anatolia already knew. It is when Demas and Luke are come to Rome suddenly Paul's letters once praising Demas seems rather dismissive of him. "Salute you doth Lukas, the beloved physician, and Demas". He's the last mentioned after mentioning everyone else in Rome and seems just oddly attached. There was clearly some dislike I think between Paul and Demas and Luke wasn't a fan of Demas either. I cannot stress enough how strange it is he is never mentioned once in Acts and I can get into why so if need be. I admit it may seem weird for Demas to send such a note. But keep in mind Demas was big enough to be mentioned in Paul's letters all the way from Rome to Anatolia when we had never even heard of this guy before. He could have been a pastor, plus whoever sent Hebrews you have to admit it addresses no specific Church issues but seems to just be a simple update about Timothy and coming back soon with a sermon attached possibly trying to be like Paul. In summary I purpose Demas wrote Hebrews and his name later removed. 65 AD "For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica." So in Heaven when you ask Jesus and he tells you it was Demas, remember where you heard it first. ME! me me me. And I have prayed for understanding while doing this timeline stuff it's been fun.

ANOTHER point I just thought of. No way Paul would say "the brother Timothy is released." Paul loved Timothy, but this letter sounds rather apathetic to him. The "if he may come shortly, I will see you." to me implies "if Timothy comes back to Anatolia with me soon I'll see you." The person was not writing to say they were coming soon but rather coming as soon as Timothy was ready to go. Not at all authoritative, Paul would be the one making decisions, not waiting on Timothy. Paul was like a father to Timothy he calls him his beloved son. What I do not understand is the "I will see you." Not only is this letter not addressed to a church but when I read it it almost seems like written to some lover. That or another big name in the church. Could be sent to a wife or clergyman who was meant to give the sermon to the church. And if it was a fake note then why does it not claim to be from anyone and seem to just speak of these weird out of context two things being in Italy and Timothy. Second Peter comes off as fake for just the opposite reasons although Second Peter also seems real because it calls itself the second epistle while making no attempt to sound like it but I talked about that already. There might be more about Hebrews and maybe I can explore another option. But nothing about it says Paul and the Priscilla theory makes little sense to me. If we had evidence of Priscilla in Italy with Timothy though there might be something. Luke is indeed also a very good candidate he was in Rome with Timothy. If the requirements are just being in Rome shortly after Timothy's release then indeed then we have options like Mark and Aristarchus and others. But this doesn't explain why the name of the letter was removed. Paul writes in Philemon "Markus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lukas, my fellow-workmen!" We get the sense these were the original gansters Paul immedialy writes to when he is under house arrest in Rome. And a year later Paul mentions the whole squad being in Rome with him, the good ol boys. Keep in mind Paul didn't even ask them to come. Rather: "But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you." He thought he was going to be able to come to them. And I should mention some think the letter was written during the Caesarea imprisonment not the Roman but this is unlikely for a few reasons. Plus it actually doesn't change much since Paul was trasnfered to Roman imprisonment shortly after. Philemon is actually a strange letter, because it's literally just a short letter not a sermon. The letter just says Paul has converted Onesimus who was a slave of Philemon that was sent to paul probably ro deliver a letter and recieve a letter. That's why Paul says prepare a lodging for him as well because he just explained to take care of Onesimus and hopes to also be released and come later. Onesiums arrived with the letter, updated them what was going on and they went out to him one concludes from the next letters. Maybe Onesiums wrote Hebrews, hmm. no.

I admit a problem. Why on Earth would Mark add "that I may see"? Did an eye witness say that was Jesus" full sentence which Matthew and Luke don't have? See this is the whole problem. I had a friend, a very good one. We were former roommates and used to spend hours on the phone together. She watched my kids for me when I needed a babysitter; I picked her up when her car was in the shop. Basic good friend stuff. Still, I was pretty okay with it until it was just too pervasive a topic in our conversations. I finally asked her to please stop. She did back off a little bit, but she never really stopped completely. The deal-breaker came a little later on. She was sitting with my youngest in my backyard on the swing I have out there. They were enjoying some ‘Aunt/Kid’ time together. They came in, the youngest went to play with his own things and we had the following conversation: Her: “I asked him if he knows that God takes care of him. He said he doesn’t need God to take care of him; he can take care of himself. I told him that he’s just like you and I guess I have a lot of work to do.” I smiled a really tight smile. The kind you get when someone steps from the realm of polite conversation into invasiveness. Me: “I thought we talked about religion and that it wasn’t really a topic up for conversation?” Her: “Well, just because you’re going to hell doesn’t mean your kids have to.” Me: “We talked about how disrespectful it is for you to keep bringing religion up to me. If you had kids and they were going on about God and I said, ‘Why do you believe in fantasies?’ wouldn’t you think that was disrespecting your beliefs?” Her: “That’s different. Your beliefs are wrong and it’s my duty to make sure your kids don’t follow you down the same path.” And that was the end of the friendship. I’ve seen her since and she’s confused as to why I stopped returning her phone calls and basically just removed myself and my kids from her life. If she has any awareness of how disrespectful her actions and behavior were, she hides it well.

Hello anons, I have a problem that is going on my whole life. I cannot get rid of it no matter how hard I try, there are short moments of success but in general I fall back to the same vice and mental torment that is torturing me since I can remember. Need a bit of advice. I was in my church's choir until the end of last year whereupon I was sort of kicked out for refusing to wear a mask. Now the restrictions have lifted for now where I live and a lot of people are asking me if I'll return or just straight up asking me to return. Corinthians 11 is the best church chapter in Paul's letters. The sheer contrast of the modern Thanksgiving/Eucharist compared to back then. Assurance of Hell comes first. You need to have assurance of Hell. Because if you believe you can be good enough then you technically don't really need to fully come to Christ you don't need to be born again and you can sort of flounder about because no one knows who is going to Heaven or Hell but I'll just do my best and I basically believe Jesus so I'm sure it'll work out. Step out of that world and just think about the reality and have assurance of Hell. You are going to Hell and you were always going to go there and there's nothing you can do to stop it, it's already too late for you. At that point you can come more truly to Christ and then from there be an upright person. Of course trying to be an upright person is good beforehand as well. That's how that one Roman was saved in Acts, God found favour in his good deeds and then brought Peter to show him the Gospel truth.

The devil was a very important angel God created but the devil gained pride and thought himself above God for just a moment and was sent out of Heaven. He is useful to God in testing humanity. Evil spirits are likely those angels that followed with the devil or those who also committed sins. The devil is an angel, angels can decide to disobey God as the devil did and he and his horde all they have left now is to torture the sinful humans. His mission is to drag as many humans he can down with him because he knows where he is going to spend eternity. God knows the future, as Jesus said he was revealing the secrets which have been kept since the foundation of the world. The plans that a world of free-willed souls may be tested and brought to everlasting life. You must be careful. If you ask why the devil exists, why do you exist? Don't you do evil in the eyes of God? If you ask why hasn't the devil been destroyed? Why haven't you been destroyed? God so loves the world, yes, including the devil. But the devil does not repent for he is full of pride. Those who know God still sin.

That the New Covenant was just for Israel and gentile Christians aren't in a covenant at all. I think this can be disproven simply because Paul never mentions that the Lord's Supper was only for Jews. You'd think he'd bring that up. I am fairly sure that, after reading through Song of Songs, that it is very explicit about oral sex being a part of a healthy sexual relationship, yet I hear anons all the time talking about how leisure sex between a married couple is wrong/evil. Personally I don't believe it is, you are married, Christ gave us sex drive as a gift, and partaking in it with the person you love should not be done with guilt. not that anyone here is ever going to get married

The Aramaic manuscripts were translated from the Greek manuscripts, they say. Ask yourself does that make any sense at all. The Greek Gospels have translation notes like Talitha koum, sometimes leaving original Aramaic by itself from what they were translating from. Very likely the early Aramaic were translated to Greek and were common in Greek long before the first century even finished. What are we supposed to do about the demons(non-whites and women)? Last time God flooded the lands to get rid of them. But He hasn't done anything yet since then, and the demons have flooded the whole world. When will God get rid of them, and what does He expect us to do about them? Does He want us to just distance ourselves from them and endure the suffering?

If even a single prophecy from a "prophet" doesn't come true, then it means they're a false prophet, and god isn't working through them. The same applies to god. If he doesn't show he exists, then he isn't real. If god doesn't show his existence today to all of us, then he doesn't exist, or is much weaker than he advertises.
