Questions that do deserve their own thread. You know the drill. Questions that don't deserve their own thread go in their own threads. Questions that do go here.
>>10427 It means don't abuse or take advantage of foreigners living in your country. A violation of the commandment would be to deliberately target such foreigners for low paid work with shitty, abusive conditions and then threaten to have them deported if they complain. But it's a good thing nobody does that.
What happened to the suicide thread? Did anon actually off himself?
hi, i'm new to christianity so i've got a few questions how did Satan rebel if all angels have perfect will? and how come God uses angels at all instead of doing it himself? also i'm kind of confused about sin and such, God made us and knew exactly how things would go down, so how come he allows people to sin and get condemned to hell and such? i feel like i have an intuitive reason as to why, but i can't put my finger on it thanks in advance
>>11098 >how did Satan rebel if all angels have perfect will? angels dont have perfect will, they have free will much like humans. >how come God uses angels at all instead of doing it himself? to my knowledge He only uses angels when its more convenient >God made us and knew exactly how things would go down, so how come he allows people to sin and get condemned to hell and such? good question, and one few people know how to answer. In order to find out youll have to first understand the "Philosophy of God" or "Balance Theory" which is basically the idea that God is a perfect balance of many positive yet conflicting virtues. For example Justice and Mercy, its impossible to have 100% of both at the same time so therefore they must be balanced. Long story short, God loves humanity thus He created us but He also knows that not all humans will love Him back so He needs a way to get rid of those who dont, but at the same time He still loves them and this is where Hell comes into play and also where things become blurry because we dont actually know for sure what Hell is. In my opinion it is not a eternal punishment but rather a eternal destruction of the soul. This theory not only coincides with the beliefs of the early Church fathers (to my knowledge) but it also doesnt contradict the morality of God. So basically God destroys the souls of the non-believers which balances things out.

>>11098 >how did Satan rebel if all angels have perfect will? They don't. AFAICT from scripture, they aren't the same in 'free' will as us humans are. They are servants of the Most High. That's why there's no salvation for Satan and the 1/3 of the angels who rebelled with him against God -- they usurped their estate. >and how come God uses angels at all instead of doing it himself? I don't find that to be nearly as interesting a question as the more fundamental one IMO: >How come God uses human beings at all? Plainly, God is entirely self-sufficient. He has perfect society and love among Himself, and he has no lack of anything whatsoever. Apparently, He's pleased to use 'these jars of clay' to perfect His will on Earth. https://www.biblehub.com/2_corinthians/4-7.htm I think it's a sovereignty thing personally. 'Adam' literally means clay. >tl;dr Man has authority on the Earth God fashioned him from and gave to him to rule over. >God made us and knew exactly how things would go down, so how come he allows people to sin and get condemned to hell and such? Very deep, very fundamental question Anon. Free will is like that. Having a robot that repeated I love you! whenever you clicked the remote wouldn't be real love now, would it. OTOH, since he means to take us Believers out of this 'playpen' (to wit; this life, this universe) and help us stand up straight, it's important that we pass the test in this life by this most powerful creature Satan, first. That way in the New Heavens and the New Earth, it will be literally impossible for us to sin again after we've been test with this life, and with the refining furnace of Jesus Christ's own judgement and cleansing. I hope that helps Anon, cheers.
>>11098 Because they rather do their wills than do God's. Knowing the consequences doesnt change anything, plenty of people also know the consequences and they still choose hell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nt_eTbkrR-g
I'm deciding on visiting a church. I'm not sure of all the denominations, but the Catholic doctrine is perhaps closest to my heart (out of all that I know of), Orthodox coming second. Does denomination matter, if so, which is the true church? Then touching on Catholicism itself, there are many smaller organizations in the Church itself: Benedictines, Franciscans, Norbertines, etc. What's with that? A Norbertine church is the closest to me, should I start attending and get baptized there? One thing I don't like and fear about Catholic churches is their worship of the Pope, and even worse of the Pope of this age, who I believe is a heretic, then again I've heard some interesting opinions that the current few Popes weren't the real Popes, but "anti-popes" of the end times fulfilling the prophecies (vaticancatholic.com and mgr.org). Could Anons share their knowledge on the matter with me and enlighten me?
>>11146 >Benedictines, Franciscans, Norbertines, etc. What's with that? Those are monks.
how do i fast when i work a physically demanding job with long hours, without depriving myself of energy and nutrition
>>11153 I don't know the answer to your question but i'd say to ask your doctor because you can get permanent issues from fasting incorrectly.
I've had it with god and his shit. I told him to stop being such a niggerfaggot and to start helping me. Undoubtedly he won't, because he's very incompetent, with the iq of a nigger. I've had it with his shit.
How can god tell us he'll punish us, when it's him that created us, and him that created this hell-earth instead of a proper planet to learn on, and it's him that created non-whites and women. Why should we be scared of him, when it's him committing all the evils against us. he is the one abusing us.
Why follow god's laws, if he can't even have the slightest courtesy of shining some light into your life. Why doesn't he follow MY laws instead of being such a nigger.
If we need physical stuff to survive, then why doesn't god provide any to me? Why has he taken away everything I had(job, house, money, health, appearance, and everything else)? Even Job had a happy ending. But apparently none for me.
I'm done talking to god until he stops being such a faggot. The ONLY thing I asked of him is to shine a little bit of his light in my life. But he never does. Everything is always shit.
God will help you. You just have to take your meds schizo.
>>11190 Romans 9:18 So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills. Everything good comes from God, so if there is anything good in your life then God has blessed you. For example your lively hood is a blessing.
why is God a trinity i still dont get it? like why not a duality or a quaternity or such
>>11254 There's no necessity in God. He doesn't 'have' to be any way whatsoever. He is triune because that is what He has chosen to be since eternity, and this is what is revealed in the sacred Scriptures.
>>11254 Because there are only three distinct persons described in the bible, if there were only two it would be a duality.
>>11268 >use Tor >go to the Israeli site like anon wants >ACCESS DENIED I suppose their paranoia is well-earned tbh.
>>11268 I'll believe it when I see it. No doubt this is a sign of the times though.
People fall away from God, because He doesn't shine any of His light in their lives. They struggle and follow God's laws, and understand them, but then God just sends the world and it's demons after His sons. This makes them believe that He either doesn't exist, is incompetent, or is somewhat evil. I curse God every day. I didn't ask for any of this, and I revoked His permission to keep me on Earth. But still, He never speaks to me or does anything positive in my life. I'm not asking for material things - I just want Him to show me that He exists, and that all of this is still part of His plan - but He never answers. I'm completely alone, but I suppose it's better to believe in the possibility of God's existence and that He's looking after me, than to have to face the reality of the world being cold and brutal and realistic.
>>11271 >I just want Him to show me that He exists, and that all of this is still part of His plan maybe this is apart of His plan.
are there any other non-cannon books that talk about the end times like Revelation?
>>11271 Stop cursing and blaspheming the God that loves you and created you, and maybe things will go better for you.

>>11303 >II Esdras (or IV Esdras) was written in Hebrew, but only various translations from a lost Greek version are preserved. The Latin version (in which chapters 1–2 and 15–16 have been added by a Christian hand) at one time was printed at the end of the Latin Bible. The book consists of six visions attributed to the biblical Ezra (who is, at the beginning of the book, erroneously identified with Salathiel, the father of Zerubbabel, a leader of the returning exiles from Babylon). The tragedy of his nation evokes in the heart of the author questions about God’s righteousness, the human condition, the meaning of history, and the election of Israel; “Ezra” does not find consolation and full answer in the words of the angel who was sent to him, which also contain revelations about the last days. In the fourth vision “Ezra” sees a mourning woman; she disappears and a city (the New Jerusalem) stands in her place. In the fifth vision a monstrous eagle appears, the symbol of the Roman Empire, and a lion, the symbol of the Messiah. The final victory of the Messiah is described in the last vision of the man (Son of man) coming from the sea. https://www.britannica.com/topic/biblical-literature/II-Esdras-or-IV-Esdras

Oh I guess I didn't even bother sorting the 4 good news accounts. Well it's a work in progress but I do want to sort the Bible into a better chronological order than how we usually have it. It should be sorted by the end date of each book. So even if it was written later wherever it ends that's the priority yeah.
Not a question but good news: >The guys over at Bible Hub (publishers of the Berean Bible translations) are working on aligning a version of their Greek NT with the Robinson-Pierp Majority Text. After that, they plan on modifying the Berean Study Bible translation to account for all of the big variants and flipping the footnotes so that the Majority Text is in the main text. They don’t have an official timeline yet but it’s in the works! >per someone at Bible Hub they hope to have the digital edition ready by early 2023. https://archive.ph/Lzs02
Letter of James to the Jewish diaspera 45 AD The letter written by "James the Just" brother of Jesus to Jesus-believing Jews scattered around. Written around a decade after the death and resurrection of Jesus. John writes that Jesus' own brothers did not believe in him, however Paul writes the resurected Jesus later appeared to James. James was a major leader along with Peter in the Church at Jerusalem. This letter was written before the council of Jerusalem 50 AD mentioned by Luke in Acts of the Apostles. The council confirmed that Jesus was saviour for the gentiles and Jewish traditionalism was not needed for salvation and both Jews and gentiles were made equal and capable of receiving God's Spirit. Peter says circumcision and the law of Moses are not burdened to the gentiles. James' letter is therefore still very traditionalist in works and law as related to salvation though does not contradict Christianity but statements were made clearer by Paul's later letters. The letter is a message from a major Church leader to the rest of the church which at time was reletivly small and vastly Jewish. Written to those who had known Jesus over the 3 years he taught and 10 or so years since as believers and Apostles with the divine gift speaking other languages preached and sent out the Good News. James' loosely references many of Jesus' parables and teachings before any of the established accounts were written but likely small basic sayings and events of Jesus may have been written down by the Church to be remembered at this point. in 54 AD Paul references Jesus' death and resurrection for sins as being in writings. James does not mention the death and resurrection of Jesus but does however refer to himself as a servant of God and Jesus who he calls Lord rather than Messiah and alludes to his return indicating he clearly saw Jesus as divine. The letter along with the first half of the book of Acts represents the early period of followers of Jesus before Paul's missionary Journeys which began 47 AD. The fact the religion survivded those 15 years proves how real the ressurection was. If they all lied about the resurection and if Jesus performed no miricles you'd think the whole thing would die out pretty quickly. The alternative reality is these people kept meeting together lying to one another, agreeing to all be in on a lie for years and years while being attacked and loving a man who apparently mislead them for 3 years. But the truth is James like the others were assured at last Jesus was Lord by his resurrection, as a simple healing here or there could easily be dismissed as it was by his enemies surely it's hard to call a human healer the God known to the Jews, the great invisible supreme God nor was Jesus what many Jews demanded in their cultural way at the time from the Messiah. Jesus' did not build an empire like Muhammad or even a small nation in fact Jesus to the outside observer failed. Jesus despite leading a humble life also made the greatest claims one could make especially by humbly referring to himself by proxy as Messiah and God, as Judge of the world and as all righteous people being gifts to him. His early followers staying the course for 15 years are testament to his truth by resurrection and it's steady growth truth of the Holy Spirit. As Paul and Peter remark he showed himself to a select few and about 400 total had seen him alive again. James died 62 AD being stoned to death in Jerusleum asking the Lord to forgive his attackers.

I think it's about time Christians stop listening to secular skeptics when it comes to chronology of the New Testament. Matthew was an accountant, he probably was interested In recording the events and sayings of Jesus while they travelled. Though it was no doubt a team effort especially after Jesus ascended. Matthew and the other apostles wrote it in Aramaic and of course Matthew wouldn't put his name on the copies because why would he, so he can get famous or get stoned to death. But early Christians of the later century attest to his authorship. Paul references Jesus dying for our sins in being "writings" and while you can get that from the Old Testament and Matthew he then says according to the "writings" he died and rose three days later which has to be a reference to one of the accounts of Jesus. Matthew Mark and Luke record Jesus saying he would raise in three days. Matthew was probably written 50 AD at the very latest but probably closer to just a few years or less after Jesus. The only reason people say otherwise is because they don't like that fact, but if we really believe the account of Jesus then it follows there's no reason why Matthew wouldn't be written while the memory of Jesus was fresh in fact the outline of Matthew likely written while Jesus was alive. Mark shortened the account for gentiles and added what he knew. As far as we know Matthew could have shortened his own account taking out all the prophetic references for gentles. Another reason for an early date frankly is I think Matthew seems a bit rushed and sloppy trying to prove Jesus was messiah. He stops to reference the scriptures but many times Jesus' own words which fulfill prophecy just slip by Matthew and I think Matthew sort of stretches a bit with trying to relate things from scripture as messianic. Afterall one really doesn't understand all that Jesus fulfilled and referenced why and how simply by reading the New Testament. You still need to read the old prophets to understand. Matthew was written to prove Jesus was messiah more so then the other three. But honestly he could have done a better job, I think it was written early in a rush for the Jews rejecting Jesus. The Didache quotes Matthew and I'd put that at 65 AD. What we call "Matthew" was the main source, it is literally the Q document, written and finished by the Jerusalem church with help from some rabbis like Nicodemous. We need to just think the obvious instead of starting from the secular skeptic ideas and working down. Traditionally 37 AD has been used, I'd say could be even earlier. Look at the arguments elsewhere. https://www.bibleodyssey.org/tools/ask-a-scholar/when-was-the-gospel-of-matthew-written.aspx >Well it's based on Mark which was written 60 AD Says who? Why would you think that? >It has well developed Christology therefore it's late. What? These are the people who say there are no early Christian writings, so how do you know how quickly "Christology" was developed. >Matthew 22:7 references a city being destroyed therefore it must have been during the Jewish Revolt. ... Matthew 22:7 is a parable... ""ask a scholar"" These guys are clowns. These are the people you trust when you as a Christian go around using terms like "pre-Markian" stop believing idiots who hate Jesus. Doubt is a sin, a crime, these people are doubters.
>>11387 I think parts of Luke were produced first tbh because it's not as organized as Matthew, then Matthew formalized it for the church in Jerusalem, Mark was a shortened version of Matthew, and later on the proto-Luke was incorporated into Luke the Evangelist's compilation with Acts to provide a thorough account of the history of Christianity (like he says at the beginning of his gospel) for the gentile church that was superior to Mark. So "Q" was written into Luke and we don't have a copy of it because scribes thought it was just an incomplete copy of Luke and either finished it or threw it out. If you look at a list of the content of reconstructed Q the material is basically continuous in Luke while it's fragmented across multiple chapters in Matthew. Lastly, there were shortened manuscripts of Luke around in the early second century that were abused by Marcion, giving the proto-orthodox church reason to be suspicious of retaining any Q document as a possible heretical redaction.
A single year is a long time, let alone a decade, you'll have some documents written by then after seeing Jesus ascend oh might just write a bit on that. If written decades later Matthew would have been much more thought out and really hit every point of the Messiah he could. "What do you mean Matthew could have been more thought out it is literally written by God." Hmm. Be reminded that scholars believe Daniel was written in 2nd century BC simply because prophecy can't exist despite the fact at 2nd century BC Daniel still references the future collapse of Rome and there's still future events in Daniel so from their perspective Daniel is fake prophecy that in truth was history but randoms parts of it is guess work of the future just a few certain parts. Okay. And I see Christians accept all these dates and "oh all the scriptures were written during the return to Jerusleum" or whatever and they just wrote all this stuff all the specific ages and geneologies in Genesis 5 and so on just made up. And it just became truth. It's all ridiculous and these scholars shoot themselves in the foot they're gonna regret not taking it seriously. We read documents from 2000 years ago about Jesus but the idea that people were reading Moses from 1500 years ago is somehow impossible. Your ignorance will be your stumbling block. Foolishness let me catch no one speaking this foolishness from "academics" oooh yes ooh must bow down ooooh yes New Testament scholar ooooh.
>>11420 I think Luke and Acts were written close together which means Luke is later since Acts of course has to been at least past 60 AD. Luke says in Acts that he already sent his Gospel account of Jesus to Theophilus. Calls it a former account and I just feel he probably wrote to this patron Theophilus and then was commissioned to write more shortly after. Luke and then Acts probably a year or two later. Theophilus being a patron of course by how he refers to him. Of course Luke being first makes a lot of sense if Theophilus paid for Luke to write his Gospel. 1. Why would Theophilus need to do this if other Gospels already existed. 2. How cheap would it be for Luke to take already existing material and send it to Theophilus. Although being the events in the Gospel are true what exactly is expected in terms of differences. 3 years is not very much time although yes John says Jesus did tons of things. Luke was likely not a witness to Jesus so all he can do is go by what was already written and what witnesses could add for him. In such a case why would Theophilus ask someone like Luke to write an account of Jesus anyways. If Theophilus asked him then all he could do is go off other writing and reports and he does have a lot that isn't in Mark or Matthew. Theophilus could have just been a bit dismissive of the Gospels demanding one be written specifically for him or he could have been a great guy wanting to get this stuff written afterall both Like and Acts which were written to him didn't disappear into history, Theophilius could have desired to get them mass produced.
>>11443 My guess: He found the other gospels somewhat sparse, and the material that's unique to Luke is precisely what he wanted. So he paid Luke to go around and interview witnesses and write down what they say and combine it with other accounts for as close to a full history as possible.

I've nearly sorted everything. As for Hebrews now. Why is the letter without authorship. It is unlikely to have lost the name by accident. To the point people say Priscilla wrote it and her name removed because she's a woman but there's problems with that idea. I see the main context here: "Know ye that the brother Timotheus is released, with whom, if he may come more shortly, I will see you." This person was clearly writing to someone or people, you don't just send a letter those days with no name and only this for context outside the sermon. 60 AD: Paul and Timothy are under house arrest in Rome. 61 AD: Paul and Timothy don't mention being prisoners. And they are with Luke and Demas now. AAAAH I just thought about it while typing this. I know what happened. Demas was never mentioned in Acts. Paul and Timothy go to Rome. Luke implies he was there with them. Demas is mentioned three times and look at the evolution. 60 AD " Markus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lukas, my fellow-workmen!" 61 AD "Salute you doth Lukas, the beloved physician, and Demas;" 64 AD "For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia." "Luke the beloved... and Demas." and then a few years later Paul has no good words. Acts is a very optimistic book which is why if it was written after Paul's death it wouln't mention his death plus the patron he wrote to may have already known and wanted more info after hearing of Paul's death. Being optimistic I think Luke snubbed Demas from any mention in acts because of what he did. "ooh it's not like everyone gets mentioned there's so many peolple, what about this Aristarchus character mentioned in Paul's letters huh!?" Oh but Aristarchus is mentioned in Acts, three times despite never doing anything, just mentioned as being there. So is it possible Luke didn't want to mention Demas on purpose because of his actions Paul alludes to. AND IS IT POSSIBLE that the name of the author of Hebrews was removed because it was..Demas. *lightning strike* dun dun dun. Demas went to Rome to retrieve Timothy, while at Rome he wrote Hebrews. He didn't mention Paul because he didn't care about him. Unlike every other Paul letter Hebrews addresses no churches or people it claims no authority makes no acusations. Demas' name was removed because he went apostate. Well at least he abandoned Paul and who knows. There's a few other things but it's just a silly theory that came suddenly, other people have probably thought about it I don't know. I do know I'll put Hebrews as 61 AD and at this point I think looking at all the arguments I have sorted out the New Testament book timeline well enough and I think it is much better when you read them in that order.
I don't know if there's something I'm missing that just debunks my theory right away but Paul mentions Demas as a fellow workman along side big names like Luke and Mark he was clearly not a small fish. And the Church chose him to go to Rome to retrieve Timothy or meet up with Paul and Timothy and once they were out of prison he probably just wanted to go back home. He was some kind of preacher or pastor or evangelist. Have we not seen those fall away from the faith. I believe the Bible always gives context if you look hard enough. Here we have an example of a preacher loving the present world and abandoning Paul whatever that really means. Paul wrote that in his death letter. I used to place it just before Nero's persecution but obviously it was during and so Demas couldn't handle the persecution and left Rome and maybe became a backsliding Christian. Not repenting for running from persecution and if he did write Hebrews while in Rome and didn't mention Paul clearly he didn't like him and he justified himself leaving him. Ain't that a fun theory. The Bible giving us an example of Demas people. He also could have written it at one other point but yeah. The timeline stuff givin me a headache, I should start doing Bible Prophecy next because Daniel and Revelation are easy peesy. I also wanted to mention the problem of Revelation when it was written.
Domitian is the king mentioned in Revelation and not Nero. Of course we have historical reference that that's when Revelation was written. Domitian is also just as antiChrist like as Nero. However it is strange since historical reference also says John gave Revelation to the Churches after his banishment ended which was after Domitian died. So to the Churches the King that still is wouldn't be a relevant passage anymore. It's possible the spirit of the antiChrist is what is mentioned, Ceaser in a general sense is the sixth king who is. "But Nero = 666!" Nonsense, the way you calculate this is illogical. "But the beginning of Revelation says it must come to pass soon." Well of that applies to the whole of Revelation it never happened, the literal translation is behoove to past which is more like it must come to past so long as conditions are right and so since the seven churches repented they avoided judgement. But that's all that had to come soon. The first section of Revelation are the things that were to come to past shortly which was about the seven churches then it makes a clear change into the prophetic vision. We know the seven churches repented after receiving John's Revelation because they all came to him afterward desiring him to write his own testimony of Lord Jesus. The main historical reference is in a commentary of Revelation by Victorinus in 259 AD who speaks with common certainty of when John wrote. The other problem for a 66 AD Nero date is that Timothy was still leading the Church in Ephesus. Paul's final letter didn't indicate complete failure and debauchery of the churches like Revelation describes.
As for the pool in the Gospel of John. John says "there is a pool in Jeruslum by the sheepgate". If he wrote this after 70 AD it wouldn't make sense since Jeruslum was completely leveled by the Romans, there was no longer a pool. In fact an eye witness Jewish rebel fighter at the time says literally nothing of Jerusalem was left besides the Roman fort which destroyed it also known as the "Temple mount" but that's another story. Should we expect John or anyone around him to know this and insist on saying "there was a pool". They knew of the destruction of Jerusalem but not the extent of it that it was total. There is also perhaps no need to mention the destruction of the Temple. The letter of Barnabas mentions the Temple destruction but only in its own section. When he recounts Jesus at the temple he makes no reference of its destruction. Likewise John doesn't mention the destruction when recording Jesus. From Barnabas' letter we also know Jewish Christians understood the Temple was old and dead already and unimportant.
Another reason Luke could have wrote after Paul's death. Luke never mentions James' death. Luke mentions James as far as 57 AD, Luke says him and Paul went to the Jerusalem church to meet with James and the elders. He doesn't mention Peter oddly enough, maybe Peter really did travel to literal Babylon during this time with Mark and Silas or somewhere east. James likely died in 62 AD right after Festus like Josephus says, once they heard Festus was gone the sanhedrin took control. Though keep in mind Luke does randomly mention Apostle James' death in 44 AD. So not mentioning Peter, Paul or James dying surely is crazy. Acts ends with saying Paul preached in Rome for two years. Paul said he'd go to Spain and Clement clearly implies that he did. He must have went to Spain for only 1 or 2 years before returning to Rome being arrested and dying. Luke doesn't mention he left to Spain. You'd think he would if he was writing this while Paul was in Spain. Luke must have finished Acts by the end of those two years he preached in Rome. James likely died around that time but the news never reached him to include it.
>>11527 >Domitian is the king mentioned in Revelation and not Nero. Of course we have historical reference that that's when Revelation was written. Domitian is also just as antiChrist like as Nero. There was a legend that Nero would have a second coming in the century after his death: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nero_Redivivus_legend
Wait a minute noooo, I have problems. You expect me to believe that Luke wrote Acts at the end of 62 AD after Paul preached there for two years. But Acts is his second book to Theophilus, he wrote the Gospel first. So Luke wrote the Gospel when? If I have to move Acts to 62 AD down from 64 AD then I have to move Gospel of Luke from 62 AD to where. Probably 59 AD while Paul was imprisoned by Felix (not anime cat boy Felix the other one). So you really expect me to believe that Luke wrote his Gospel while... actually it makes sense. Paul was imprisoned in Caesarea. What did Luke do during that time, we know he was there before the imprisonment and after it. For 2 years what did Luke do. Well it depends did Luke stay in Caesarea or go to Jerusleum. Acts 23 has no "we, us, our" language when Paul goes to Caesarea it says; he did this, he did that, this is what happened to Paul. That language doesn't return until Acts 27 "And when our sailing to Italy was determined". So Luke probably didn't go to Caesarea with Paul and the 470 soliders (lot of security for Paul, sanhedrin really wanted him dead) So while Luke stayed in Jerusalem for under 2 years before going to Caesarea he could have written the Gospel using the Jerusalem churches documents and getting reports from the Apostles and others who were there. This would mean Luke was written 59 AD. The Gospel of Luke has to be written before Acts, it plainly says so in Acts itself. And Acts I have to say was written before Paul even left Rome and certainly before he or James died.
And with my opinion (Biblical fact rather) that Mark returned from Anatolia to Jerusalem and the best time frame that Mark, Silas and Peter could have written First Peter is 59 AD then I know why The three Gospels are similar. Because they were all written in the Jerusalem church and Mark and Luke written around the exact same time perhaps literally the same year. Well of course, why would they be separated by decades, that really is just a random baseless assumption. John is so different because it was written long after when Mark and Luke which all stem from Jerusalem. After all where else would you write the Gospels. I purpose (to myself) moving Mark from 55 AD Anatolia to 59 AD when Luke and Mark were both in Jerusalem. "Ahh," you say "But you pointed out Luke doesn't mention Peter in Jerusalem when he and Paul arrives." This is my biggest issue. Why does Luke say 'James and the elders' and no mention of Peter. If First Peter was written in 59 AD with Mark and Silas and they were at Jerusalem. Ahh but Paul and Luke arrived in 58 or even 57 AD. Peter might have been gone when they arrived but came to Jerusleum shortly after and why would he do that, because of all the commotion of course, sanhedren stirring up the people against Paul and probably the church there too. Am I done yet, I think so.
I hate to keep talking but there's more. If we accept both Mark and Luke written 58-59 AD. Mark wrote because before returning to Anatolia he wanted to bring a shorter or Gentile targeted Gospel to them and he wrote with help from the Jerusalem church with Peter. Luke wrote for a patron named Theophilus unfortunately we know nothing of who he is. Perhaps he met Theophilus while Paul and Luke were on the third mission. "This Jesus character you preach of I want a full report if you don't mind. I'll pay for it." "Okay well we're headed back to Jerusalem I can write for you there when I talk to the Apostles." The problem with both of these is Matthew. I believe Matthew was written 42 AD. Matthew is always what we see quoted and 55 AD Paul references some kind of writing about Jesus' death and resurrection after 3 days and he says it as if the Corinthians had such a writing already. I want to make things easy by saying Matthew was done before James' letter but the reality seems more like a proto-Matthew/Q document which was passed out by the Jerusalem church which Mark and Luke used for different purposes along with having eye witnesses in Jerusalem 58-59 AD. This may also be why Peter is mentioned so much in the Gospels, because as far as we know he was the only Apostle there in the Jerusalem church, the other Apostles went adventuring so most things came from Peter's perspective. I think also the reason Peter stayed was because that's what Jesus told him to do, look after the church, he must have felt terrible when he was gone for a short while and Paul showed up and got arrested and things went crazy, he missed it. Likewise it's interesting Jesus says that John is to tarry, that is to linger around not doing much. Until of course his time many decades later when he wrote tons of stuff. And there's more ro say about that. Tradition says so I've heard, I need to get sources, that Matthew preached in Judea 15 years before leaving. That's a time frame up to at best 50 AD to get Matthew finished. And just based on the Bible I'd say he was first but again why didn't Luke just send Theophilus Matthew. Why did Luke write his own thing. Unless proto-Matthew was only partly finished and then... I'm tired. We do have some line of logic though: James quotes "Matthew" 44 AD Paul references some kind of written Gospel 55 AD Luke writes Acts 62 AD Didache quotes Matthew ??AD Luke Gospel has to be before Acts and Acts cannot be later than 62 AD it's illogical. When you piece everything together you get Mark and Luke together around 58 AD in Jerusalem using some kind of document. If the document was proto-Matthew when was Matthew finished. If the document was finished Matthew why did Like bother to write his own account for Theophilus. Mark has purpose for his Gospel, it is simple and short and gentile oriented. I think I have to really go through the differences of the Gospels to figure out the blues clues.
Fun. If anyone else wants to get into NT timeline I think I got it all right but who knows. The New Testament has a lot of contextual clues from Acts and the Letters. Paul's letters have all mostly been firmly dated but the question is really when was everything else around them written. JESUS' DEATH & RESURRECTION JAMES THE GREAT DIES 1 The Good News according to Matthew 42 AD 2 Letter of James to the Jewish diaspora 44 AD 3 Letter of Paul to the Galatians 49 AD JERUSALEM CHURCH COUNCIL 4 First Letter of Paul to the Thessalonians 51 AD 5 Second Letter of Paul to the Thessalonians 52 AD 6 First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians 55 AD 7 Second Letter of Paul to the Corinthians 56 AD 8 Letter of Paul to the Romans 57 AD PAUL HOUSE ARREST IN CAESAREA 9 First letter of Peter 58 AD 10 Letter of Jude 58 AD 11 The Good News according to Mark 59 AD 12 The Good News according to Luke 59 AD PAUL HOUSE ARREST IN ROME 13 Letter of Paul to Philemon 60 AD 14 Letter to the Hebrews 61 AD 15 Letter of Paul to the Colossians 61 AD 16 Letter of Paul to the Philippians 61 AD 17 Letter of Paul to the Ephesians 62 AD 18 Second letter of Peter 62 AD JAMES THE JUST DIES 19 First Letter of Paul to Timothy 62 AD 20 Letter of Paul to Titus 62 AD 21 Acts of the Apostles 63 AD PAUL GOES TO SPAIN 22 Teachings of the Twelve Apostles 64 AD NERO'S PERSECUTIONS PAUL HOUSE ARREST IN ROME 23 Second letter of Paul to Timothy 65 AD PAUL DIES JERUSALEM DESTROYED 24 Letter of Barnabas 70 AD 25 First Letter of John 91 AD 26 Second Letter of John 93 AD 27 Third Letter of John 93 AD DOMITIAN'S PERSECUTIONS JOHN EXILED 28 Letter of Clement to the Corinthians 96 AD 29 The Book of Revelation 96 AD JOHN RETURNS TO EPHESUS 30 The Good News according to John 97 AD
>>11554 That is interesting and partly some of this gets into what Revelation is about, I've never done work on Bible Prophecy and I pity those who have to do that seems difficult. But the dating of Revelation, we know John wrote it from exile in Patmos and outside sources we know he was probably in Ephesus before and after. He left Jerusalem after the assumption of Mary according to the Mary alien cult. We know Domition exiled people and persecuted across Empire where Nero was really just mad about Christians in Rome and probably wouldn't have had someone like John in Ehpesus exiled. Domition saw himself as a God and loved Roman paganism and wanted people to worship idols which I think John mentions in John III. https://www.heraldofhope.org.au/when-was-the-book-of-revelation-written/ The antichrist-type king referred to as being alive in Revelation could be Rome in general, or even it could all just refer to contemporary things such as the seven heads are actually Roman Emporers, those kinds of views became common among early gentile Christians since they have no idea what Revelation is in relation to Daniel, but no i don't get involved with such things.
>>11557 >If the document was finished Matthew why did Like bother to write his own account for Theophilus. Maybe due to the requirement for events to be confirmed with two witnesses, and there was too much missing in Mark for Theophilus to consider it a serious witness?
The reason we have Paul is because he's a Pharisee and therefore wise in the scriptures. It is him who clarifies the relation between the Old Testament and Jesus and other theological issues. When you read the New Testament in order they were written as I have suggested you really notice the stark contrast of James and Galatians, I speak boldly to say they practically contradict each other. Paul had to establish things even his first disciples did not understand. Although even Peter came to his own realisation and was surprised when we saw gentiles could be saved by the holy spirit and this is all a few decades after Jesus. So while there is development that happened in the Church from James to the Jerusalem council to Romans and then the Gospel of John. The development we see is a more and more bold understanding of Jesus, based on the Old Testament but also on Jesus, the Gospel account doesn't contradict the letters of the church. Of course even the Gospel writers themselves point out how things Jesus said were not understood until later. If Paul was needed as a religious wiseman, then why wasn't he part of the twelve from the beginning. Why choose people who were likely all less than wise in scripture and then have a scripture man come later. Again I point out Matthew frankly was not the best for pointing out scripture that was related to Christ. Paul had to come later for reasons. Reasons.
I am going to re-state my very true theory that Demas wrote Hebrews. First off I purpose Hebrews is not at all like Paul, it doesn't have the weight and authority and I can make a whole post just disproving Paul wrote it. Now I do have a slight problem, because I place Acts of the Apostles written 64 AD and Second Timothy 65 AD. Again, Demas' first mention: Paul praises him as a worker along with Luke, Mark and another common guy in Acts. Second mention: Paul sounds dismissive of Demas. Third mention: Demas betrays Paul and loves the world. Demas is not mentioned in Acts. Luke constantly mentions names just to mention them but not Demas. I though Luke removed his presence because of his betrayal of Paul, but that didn't happen until a year later after Acts was written. But it's likely Demas had a slow decline and Luke very much might have seen him as a bad egg, maybe even annoyed by him and so scrubbed him from any mention in Acts. And it follows that if Luke is willing to remove Demas from Acts then why not the church remove his name from Hebrews after hearing about what he did to Paul and possibly Demas just left the faith altogether. Note, most historians seem to agree the writers name was purposefully removed, it is very unlikely to somehow have been lost and you just don't write a note like this without explicitly stating who you are. Also note by the end of the 1st century the author was already lost and unknown. The only context clues from Hebrews: "Pray for us" "Know ye that the brother Timothy is released, with whom, if he may come more shortly, I will see you." "Salute all those leading you, and all the saints; salute you doth those from Italy:" From this I concluded the person came to Italy in 61 AD when Timothy and Paul were imprisoned in Rome. And indeed we know Demas was in Rome in 61 AD. Paul writes to Philemon in Anatolia in 60 AD, happily stating him and Timothy are under arrest in Rome. He greets Demas and Luke and Mark others. Paul in 61 AD writes to the Colossians and mentions Demas and Luke and Mark and others are with him. Paul mentions Timothy but not as a prisoner. Paul does however mention himself being a prisoner twice and even says he's a fellow prisoner with Aristarchus (who is another interesting background person through the Church). So from this, Paul tells the church in eastern Anatolia (we're not for sure which city in Anatolia Philemon was in) that him and Timothy are imprisoned. The whole team then goes out to him. Within a year Timothy is out of prison. Demas sends Hebrews back to his church that he is pastor of. Demas came for Timothy and/or he doesn't care for Paul, which is why he doesn't mention him. Plus why would he mention Paul still being in prison if the Church back in Anatolia already knew. It is when Demas and Luke are come to Rome suddenly Paul's letters once praising Demas seems rather dismissive of him. "Salute you doth Lukas, the beloved physician, and Demas". He's the last mentioned after mentioning everyone else in Rome and seems just oddly attached. There was clearly some dislike I think between Paul and Demas and Luke wasn't a fan of Demas either. I cannot stress enough how strange it is he is never mentioned once in Acts and I can get into why so if need be. I admit it may seem weird for Demas to send such a note. But keep in mind Demas was big enough to be mentioned in Paul's letters all the way from Rome to Anatolia when we had never even heard of this guy before. He could have been a pastor, plus whoever sent Hebrews you have to admit it addresses no specific Church issues but seems to just be a simple update about Timothy and coming back soon with a sermon attached possibly trying to be like Paul. In summary I purpose Demas wrote Hebrews and his name later removed. 65 AD "For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica." So in Heaven when you ask Jesus and he tells you it was Demas, remember where you heard it first. ME! me me me. And I have prayed for understanding while doing this timeline stuff it's been fun.
>>11594 I meant to say western Anatolia, that's where Philemon and the rest were, so they could make it to Rome pretty quickly.
ANOTHER point I just thought of. No way Paul would say "the brother Timothy is released." Paul loved Timothy, but this letter sounds rather apathetic to him. The "if he may come shortly, I will see you." to me implies "if Timothy comes back to Anatolia with me soon I'll see you." The person was not writing to say they were coming soon but rather coming as soon as Timothy was ready to go. Not at all authoritative, Paul would be the one making decisions, not waiting on Timothy. Paul was like a father to Timothy he calls him his beloved son. What I do not understand is the "I will see you." Not only is this letter not addressed to a church but when I read it it almost seems like written to some lover. That or another big name in the church. Could be sent to a wife or clergyman who was meant to give the sermon to the church. And if it was a fake note then why does it not claim to be from anyone and seem to just speak of these weird out of context two things being in Italy and Timothy. Second Peter comes off as fake for just the opposite reasons although Second Peter also seems real because it calls itself the second epistle while making no attempt to sound like it but I talked about that already. There might be more about Hebrews and maybe I can explore another option. But nothing about it says Paul and the Priscilla theory makes little sense to me. If we had evidence of Priscilla in Italy with Timothy though there might be something. Luke is indeed also a very good candidate he was in Rome with Timothy. If the requirements are just being in Rome shortly after Timothy's release then indeed then we have options like Mark and Aristarchus and others. But this doesn't explain why the name of the letter was removed. Paul writes in Philemon "Markus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lukas, my fellow-workmen!" We get the sense these were the original gansters Paul immedialy writes to when he is under house arrest in Rome. And a year later Paul mentions the whole squad being in Rome with him, the good ol boys. Keep in mind Paul didn't even ask them to come. Rather: "But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you." He thought he was going to be able to come to them. And I should mention some think the letter was written during the Caesarea imprisonment not the Roman but this is unlikely for a few reasons. Plus it actually doesn't change much since Paul was trasnfered to Roman imprisonment shortly after. Philemon is actually a strange letter, because it's literally just a short letter not a sermon. The letter just says Paul has converted Onesimus who was a slave of Philemon that was sent to paul probably ro deliver a letter and recieve a letter. That's why Paul says prepare a lodging for him as well because he just explained to take care of Onesimus and hopes to also be released and come later. Onesiums arrived with the letter, updated them what was going on and they went out to him one concludes from the next letters. Maybe Onesiums wrote Hebrews, hmm. no.

We have seen this though a few times, with modern medicare more people are experiencing this, but they are not receiving truth and revelation just having an experience and experiences need to be carefully thought on. In the Bible you had many times people having dreams that needed to be interpreted, Peter was unsure about his vision of all the animals. After all the nasty shit he has done, from raping his mother to claiming to be Christ himself. If you put into account his mental illness, do you think he has any chance to be saved? hell, why people like him even exists? I know is just part of God's plan but come on.

Specifically about the Capitoline triad you can literally just go "There's a 3 here and a 3 there, amazing, Christbros how will we EVER recover from this thorough btfoing."
>>11716 As for Jesus Ben Ananias (>>11552), I'm having trouble refuting it. However, on the wikipedia page, there exists a quote by Flavius Josephus. Being skeptical of wikipedia, I checked the source, "1957 Journal of Biblical Literature, Volumes 76-77 Society of Biblical Literature and Exegesis pg 104". It turns out the "Journal of biblical literature" was headed by a smallhat several times during its history. Additionally, at the time in which the Ananias volume was published, one of (((them))) was the president of the academic society. The long-nose tribe's involvement with the journal makes me skeptical, but I can see why anti Christians would use the pilpul passage in the wiki page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_ben_Ananias): The anti-Christian claim seems to be that the figure of "jesus" as recorded in the gospels and epistles was either partly or completely influenced by the Ananias guy.
>>11720 I don't think anyone thinks Jesus Ananias and Jesus of Nazareth are related. It was a common name. I was just posting it because it's interesting that someone was propechying the temple would be destroyed just before and during the Jewish Roman war. >>11715 Well the trinity is nowhere in the Bible. It's just a notice that God has at least three forms. I would say he has four because he takes the form of an angel sometimes. That's where the Jehovah's witnesses get confused. One assumes God can take any number of forms, certainly more than three. The spirit of God is in the first chapter of Genesis. In fact all his forms we know of are in Genesis from the early beginning. When pagan religions see God as three they're correct it's usually three forms. We have three parts to us, the body, spirit, soul. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaUDoniDogI

Mark 12:36 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. John 1:1-18 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. John 20:17 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. John 20:28 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. 2 Corinthians 13:14 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. 1 John 5:5-8 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 1:1-2 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  Genesis 1:26
>>11745 You didn't have to prove my point. i could have done that my self.
>>11741 I think you accidentally quoted my post while saying something random.
>>11737 The universe is only 7,500 years old. At least that's what all the evidence points to.
>>11753 The Father, Son and Holy Ghost are three distinct persons that each have the full essence of one and the same God. That's what the Trinity states on the basis of scripture. They aren't forms of God because that would imply they are not fully God, which is a heresy called modalism. Each person of the Trinity is fully and truly divine in their own right. The term Trinity doesn't mean there are three gods but is a model to understand the being that has been revealed of one true God. So if you believe this as shown in the Bible it doesn't make sense to be anti-Trinitarian because it is just a formalized account of what Christians are to believe, unless you aren't Christian.
>>11755 The definition of the era of the church fathers extends to the 8th century.
>>11759 when most people think of Church Fathers they think of people who studied under the disciples or their students.
>>11739 It's true lots of dinosaur types don't exist. It's some weird thing where they need to constantly come up with new dinosaur ideas from the single shin bones they find. Nearly all fossils on Earth all over the globw from the mountains to the lowest layers it's all marine life, sea shells and clams, kinda like some global flood event happened all at the same time. Finding a full dinosaur skeleton is nearly impossible, insane. Even just a few bones is not your average fossil. And Atheists of course are trying to shove dinosaurs under the rug now because dinosaurs disprove evolution and their "millions of years" wooow. They don't even bother anymore to explain away soft tissue or where dinosaurs came from, it's almost like a joke, the level of blindness people need to put onto themselves.
>>11753 And before you ask, why is it necessary to spell it out as the doctrine of the Trinity, it's because in the early church there were people that 1) Denied that the God of the Old Testament was God (Marcionism) 2) Denied that Jesus Christ was God but a created being (Arianism) 3) Denied that the Holy Spirit was God (Macedonianism).
>>11758 I just don't get the point of pretending you have some kind of disagreement. Didn't I mention this before. You are pretending to argue about nothing. God is not three, he could be a million billion if he wants to be. He could make 100 more independant or dependant or whatever parts if he wants. If you want to go with just three, great job, I don't really care. Could not care less.
>>11759 Oh well, it is the definition afterall.
>>11762 The problem is the trinity is not in the Bible. God is an angel many times in the Bible. So that's four, your theory is a bit busted. You Trinitarian Unitarian people are insane, you got a worm in your brain. "Aah but when he's an angel it's not independent or it's actually Jesus or whatever. Logos!!! I use words like logos!" Well there's no indication the Holy Ghost is an independent part either. Jesus says the Lord is one. Okay. Surprisingly God can do anything, if he wants to be a chipmunk and speak to you he can do that. If he wants to have a son, well he can do that too. He can have a spirit and take the form of a man or whatever. The insanity of trying to have this "trinity" "unitarian" it's shocking. It's no where in the Bible. I can't even imagine having trouble understand the concept that god can be a father and have a son or do anything he wants. I mean this is alien Mary territory of nonsense waste of time. Meaningless. "No, me trying to understand God by putting him in my definition box." Okay.
>>11764 >religion can be anything lol >>11769 Jesus and Paul in the scriptures and the early church all confess the three, Father Son and Spirit, not more and not less. >>11776 I don't know what the green text is nor do I see your point at all. Enjoy your wasting of time and heresy.
In my quest still to see what happened in 59 AD Matthew writes: And Jesus having known their wickedness, said, `Why me do ye tempt, hypocrites? show me the tribute-coin?' and they brought to him a denary; and he saith to them, `Whose is this image and the inscription?' they say to him, `Caesar's;' Luke writes: And he, having perceived their craftiness, said unto them, `Why me do ye tempt? shew me a denary; of whom hath it an image and superscription?' and they answering said, `Of Caesar:' Mark writes: And he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, `Why me do ye tempt? bring me a denary, that I may see;' and they brought, and he saith to them, `Whose is this image, and the inscription?' and they said to him, `Caesar's;' This is a perfect example of what I had imagined. Mark and Luke have shortened Matthew very obviously in this passage.
I admit a problem. Why on Earth would Mark add "that I may see"? Did an eye witness say that was Jesus" full sentence which Matthew and Luke don't have? See this is the whole problem. I don't get it.... I don't get it. This happens so often where clearly all the Gospel accounts never had any interaction with each other or something. If they copied parts from Matthew... Why is it not copied, what happened? Ugh, pain. Me tiny brain hurts. I don't get it there's a part of the puzzle I'm still missing something staring people in the face to be sure.
Walk through this idea. Mark shortened Matthew and yet added stuff at the same time. Keep in mind these differences added and shortened literally mean nothing, they have no significant weight to the event. So what is he doing? Is he trying to avoid copyright?Explain that to me. And if you reverse the process it's the same thing Matthew to Mark. So... Hmm? Maybe Mark is just trying to make Matthew easier to read. Skipping the tribute-coin part and also adding that Jesus wants to see the coin. I guess that's just it, or there's no influence between accounts. Pick one, idiot. I think i have proven that Mark and Luke were together in Jerusalem 59 AD and Matthew came first. Just read the New Testament. This I desire answers, and I will find them by going through every shared event and figuring out what each of these Gospel writers were up to. What were they up to with their little grubby hands hmm? One wonders what grubby hands are up to. Grubby, grubby.
You know that Adventure Time gif with the deer taking off his hooves, yeah that's Mark and Luke. Paul's good ol boys.
"Ooh is that Matthew's Gospel I see! You wouldn't mind if I uh, take a copy for myself now would you? Oh joy, my work for Theophilus begins!" *grubby* *grubby* The fact that Mark makes things easier to read should be an obvious indicator that he is the one who shortened rather than Matthew the one who added. I add further that I bet we could learn more about Theophilus than we think. If we take into account how Acts and Luke are written, what is included I think we could find out a lot about Theophilus. All these university professors sitting in their chairs slurping back their brandies don't know nothing. It'll actually take many days to go through each shared event, hmm. I hope you guys are having a fun day, or a day of mourning whatever is appropriate. Just remember you can't be snatched out of Jesus' hands. Heaven is forever.

>>11819 So you're saying God is limited. Weird flex but okay. Yes, obviously God can becomes and have as many parts and sons and daughters that he wants. I'd say there's 4 'parts' of God in the Bible. Obviously trinity is not in the Bible. No one ever says God is three, that's something you have to just observe and conclude. Jesus says the Lord is one. Trinity unitarian people are creepy. Some kind of obsession with "I'm pretending to argue like Aristotle, mom." Good job son. You should argue about free will with Calvinist next, get a good thumbs up.

>>11722 >I would say he has four because he takes the form of an angel sometimes. >>11823 >I'd say there's 4 'parts' of God in the Bible. Muslim liar: angel ≠ God And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. Revelation 22:8-9
>>11834 God becomes an angel many many times in the Bible. I'm sorry to inform you of that. It's such a basic concept it's shocking the Unitarians and Trinitarian just son't get it. "No God literally can't have a Son, he literally can't wrestle with someone, he can't literally have a spirit." Well, I'm sorry to break it to you.
>>11832 One day you'll read the Bible and see for yourself. God can do anything. He's not limited to your false doctrines. The day a trinitarian or unitarians actually get out of their blindness they will see. "Father Son an Spirit are listed together that means three!" "No Jesus says Lord God is one not three" You just don't get it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaUDoniDogI Now God only corrects you so many times. If you harden your heart you'll never understand.
Even though the trinity is not in the Bible and God is obviously one and Jesus and the holy ghost and the father are divine and so on oh how is that possible whaaat? "How can God be on Earth and also in Heaven and stuff and be a Father and Son and spirit and become an angel and do anything he wants, that make no sense!" What do you mean how!? How can God do somethinf? How do you think? It's just as bad as trying to correct a Calvinist. The problem is that you guys are wasting time. Massive PRETENDING to argue. Please take 5 seconds to actually just realise you are pretending to argue, I'm genuinely serious if you just calm down and self reflect you will see you pretend to argue, I'm not kidding I promise you. Is it shocking? Yes. Will you listen? Probably not. But there you have it.
"God is made of parts" "God is made of modes" "God is made of persons" "God is made of memebers" "God is one but uhhh he uhhhhh like I mean..." ...Please shut up. Please. Can you not take your toga off and get over yourself and just read the Bible and see the reality of God the Father and Son so on and so on. "No I don't like the term you use, use my term my term is more correct." Shut up. It's an actual block in your minds where you don't see, you have useless ears and eyes, it's shocking. Stop pretending and grow up. Look for an actual thing to talk about. It's embarrassing what you guys do.
Finally, The term trinity is a shorthand way of saying "Father, Son, Holy Ghost". That is where it ends. It is not a doctrine. there is no argument that Jesus is the Son of God and therefore is God also, Jesus isn't a "creation". "But Jesus has his own will, he talks with God, is he talking to himself!" Is that suppose to be impossible? Father God can't have a Son that is like that, has a will, I'm confused. There is no argument that OBVIOUSLY God's spirit is God. There is zero argument that god can take any form he wants, he can walk around like a man "put his name in an angel" or whatever thing he wants to do. Do you get it now? Do you understand the Bible. Not your doctrine, do you understand the Bible itself? "I'm a Trinitarian" WOW you believe basic things. "I'm a Unitarian and God is one." WOW no kidding huh? "No I try to argue with Jehovah's witnesses because they don't believe what I believe." You do not argue with those people stop pretending. You never talk to those people, you argue over words, and it's pathetic. And ooooh if i see you people argue about this one more time. I am going to scream. How about next you guys argue about "How can God create the Earth, where did the matter come from." Please do that next. Idiots. I'm so sick of it. Do you understand in your tiny brains? No one cares if you say God is three ten or fifty. Because NO ONE NO CHRISTIAN HAS EVER SAID THERE ARE THREE TEN OR FIFTY GODS. God(s). No one says there is more than one God and no one denies Jesus' divinity and so on. Move on with your lives.
How can the Holy Ghost be working in a million people right now? Living and working inside of them. Are there a million Holy Ghosts? Surely if Jesus on Earth was two people we'd consider them TWO. When God comes to Earth and talks to Abraham is he still in Heaven at the same time or is he just in angel form on Earth? If he is in two places at once is that two different people? Yes, and no. And we see this in nature in quantum physics. It's not exactly impossible to wrap your head around. Jesus says he and his Father would live inside you, the Holy Ghost is interchangeable with Jesus and the Father just as Jesus says him and the Father are one another. "But why does Jesus seem to have his own will?" Because God made it that way. Very simple. Very simple.
There arent multiple Gods, there are multiple forms of God.

I had a friend, a very good one. We were former roommates and used to spend hours on the phone together. She watched my kids for me when I needed a babysitter; I picked her up when her car was in the shop. Basic good friend stuff. When we first became friends, she was a lapsed Catholic but in the course of our friendship, she became a born-again Christian. It was annoying, but, okay. She would make jabs about me going to hell, which as an atheist, I didn’t mind. It’s like someone teasing me that a dragon will eat me. I’m an open sort of person and when my oldest said he’d like to go to church with her, I was fine with that and it was an experience that he liked a couple of times and then lost interest in. Then she got way more persistent with pushing Christianity at me. I was polite at first. I was raised Southern Baptist and pointed out to her that it’s not like I’ve never been exposed to Christianity and the Bible, I simply don’t believe in God as she does. Still, I was pretty okay with it until it was just too pervasive a topic in our conversations. I finally asked her to please stop. She did back off a little bit, but she never really stopped completely. The deal-breaker came a little later on. She was sitting with my youngest in my backyard on the swing I have out there. They were enjoying some ‘Aunt/Kid’ time together. They came in, the youngest went to play with his own things and we had the following conversation: Her: “I asked him if he knows that God takes care of him. He said he doesn’t need God to take care of him; he can take care of himself. I told him that he’s just like you and I guess I have a lot of work to do.” I smiled a really tight smile. The kind you get when someone steps from the realm of polite conversation into invasiveness. Me: “I thought we talked about religion and that it wasn’t really a topic up for conversation?” Her: “Well, just because you’re going to hell doesn’t mean your kids have to.” Me: “We talked about how disrespectful it is for you to keep bringing religion up to me. If you had kids and they were going on about God and I said, ‘Why do you believe in fantasies?’ wouldn’t you think that was disrespecting your beliefs?” Her: “That’s different. Your beliefs are wrong and it’s my duty to make sure your kids don’t follow you down the same path.” And that was the end of the friendship. I’ve seen her since and she’s confused as to why I stopped returning her phone calls and basically just removed myself and my kids from her life. If she has any awareness of how disrespectful her actions and behavior were, she hides it well.

Do you have any good arguments against gnosticms besides that the church said it was a heresy? Everywhere i go there is always one person who believes in it.
>>11932 >The Sun wants you to worship yourself or idols so that you don't worship The Sun What the fuck am I reading? >Do you have any good arguments against gnosticms Depends on the gnosticism. There's a lot of pagan or jewish bullshit which gets conflated with the more direct deism and descendant christian heresies They don't or they'd have posted some ever
>>11932 The Bible doesn't teach Gnosticism. Gnosticism is that you are saved by some sort of esoteric knowledge. The Bible teaches you are saved by faith in Jesus Christ. The prophecies of the Bible don't support any of the pagan nonsense that is called Gnosticism. The idea that the world is evil is pagan, and a lot of it is ripped off from Platonic and Vedic ideas that have roots in occult philosophy, not God.

Is extreme hatred towards homosexuals and homosexuality compatible with devout Christianity?
>>11947 Romans 12:9 teaches 'abhor what is evil'. Christians are not supposed to excuse of sins and unrighteousness, or even to associate with unrepentant sinners. Seething about homosexuality all day long is probably not spirituality or mentally healthy though. Homosexuals spread disease, child molestation and filth throughout the world, but I don't focus on them much other than avoiding them and their propaganda.
>>11947 I think I hate Satan, and I don't believe that compromises either my righteous standing in God (bought solely by the blood of Jesus Christ, btw), nor does it harm my faith as a Believer. I'm a little bit like King David in some ways that way I think. But as to humans?? I don't think it's reasonable for Christians to hate any other human being. After all, look at the absolute mountainous degree of sin and evil we ourselves have each already been forgiven of. OTOH, as Anon mentions >>11949, in-group preference and pattern-recognition are perfectly compatible with faithful Christianity I believe. I don't associate with Blacks too much for many of the same reasons he gives regarding sodomites. But I (and indeed any Christian) am forbidden from 'hating' any other individual--even if we avoid them like all get-out. I hope that helps clarify the issue a little Anon.
>>11932 Gnosticism is a different religion and its stupid when Reddit pretends like it somehow invalidates Christianity as its own system of belief.

>>11962 You can hate him by refusing his temptations. No man can serve two masters. He will either hate the one and love the other or be devoted to the one and despise the other. Turn away from Satan and do not give him so much as the time of day. This is the direction you need to be going. Practical advice: Pray for a greater desire to serve God instead over anyone else. Pray for a greater hatred of your sins. Don't think about whether you've "achieved" this. Keep praying for it every day. You are God's work in progress and it's going to take some time. >>11961 I come here because I love the people here. I want to be around them and talk to them. I have no ulterior motive. >>6836 Hi anons ive been pretty worried Ive done a fair about of psychedelics and after reading some people say they see demons. It really worries me ive opened my mind up to such evils. note ive never done dmt lol...
This world sucks turtle butt. Everything is evil and haram! And everyone is worldly. Everyone just talks about their sin thing on social media or at work. They show off and encourage and talk about the sin thing that consumes their life and is the center focus. And then they talk about their skin colour and political colour. And then I also suck turtle butt because God would actually use me for great things if i didn't suck so bad and mess up and stumble. Someone came back from a mission and talked at my church about all the amazing things that happened. And here I am playing in the sand box too scared to tell my family about Jesus. There's no place or peace. Some people get to have the personality of a camp counselor and hang out with their cool good looking christian friends and then his beautiful submissive christian asian wife and him touch butts. But my butt remains untouched, unloved. Not that their life is better or perfect. But every single thing is either a waste of time or also evil. If the whole world was christian everything would be so much better it makes me drool and have love explosion just thinking about it. Now of course there is no happiness in this world apart from loving Jesus Lord and Master. This world is dust and the denizens of this world are as dusty as their Bibles. I want to be used by our Lord Jesus and if I was better maybe he would send me somewhere. The comfort in the flesh is burning it for Jesus our Lord and Saviour I love you. The flesh is good for burning down to the nib in spiritual fire for Jesus the Lord who gave us eternal life when we don't deserve it. I love Jesus a lot. Yeah, not that I want to enjoy the world, I want to give salt to everywhere but things are pretty bad and getting worse. I think I can make christian videos. But I wish things could get better and I suck. Proper upright christians increase everything but my prayers are unanswered because I am weak. Can everyone reading this make a quick prayer for me, my name is Braxton, I want to increase in the Holy Ghost because I have been ignorant to his voice and I want to be forgiven for being stupid. Pray deeply please brothers and sisters this I beg. With greatness in Jesus we can turn around the small area of the life we are given.

>>11994 it was in the past anon. Ive given that up now

>>11997 I get worried that I have somehow contacted or let demons into my brain or something. Even if im still saved its a pretty crazy idea.. 1 Timothy 4:1-2 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.
>>12000 I don't think you're following demons are you. Everything about turning away is to death. People will do such and such until their deaths, they have given up. But even if you turn to sinfulness briefly you can be injured. Which is what God does to his children, punishes them or lets them be punished. Lets them be physically hurt or spiritually hurt to teach you a lesson which is really just him taking the shield wall away from around you which the shield wall is just an added bonus of a good child. Of course your consciousness probably isn't damaged, that is thinking bad is good or okay to do which is all demons what people to think, it's okay to do this or that. It is perfectly ridiculous to have a demon spirit and the Holy Spirit inside one person. https://www.gotquestions.org/Christian-demon-possessed.html If you have demons that follow you around from your past they would be interested in trying to get you to do drugs again. You should know if they are around or you have resisted long enough they fled away. They shouldn't be able to fully enter a person like Judas or all the people today clearly given over to demonic influence. You do not need an exorcist, you need a big hug and kiss. *kiss* *kiss* ooh yes big hugs and kisses.

According to John 3:13, "no one has gone up into heaven except the One having come down out of heaven, the Son of Man." So, were Enoch and Elijah simply carried into the sky (the alternate usage of the word heaven) in the Old Testament, or is the popular Jewish reading that they are in heaven right and therefore Jesus (or John) wrong?
BO, unless you have objections, I'm going to merge this slide thread into QTDDTOT in ~24hrs.
>>12112 Well I think articles on the internet explain this best. About what being in Heaven means in the body and spirit and all this. Also Enoch and Elijah are very interesting characters and well known not just in Jewish history. Very strange characters. John would never make a mistake like this, Jesus would never make a mistake like this, no Jew would. Every Jew knows about Elijah and Enoch so what Jesus was saying was just bold truth. However an alternative explanation is just looking at the part before it. Jesus says "If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?" He's talking to the audience and people of Earth. He is saying YOU people do not understand Heavenly things because none of YOU have been there, so there's no point. No one on Earth has been to Heaven which is essentially true so why try to explain about it.

Besides, I don't get how does a corpse that was wrapped for 3 days can get printed on the same shroud that would last for roughly 2 millenia. Do we have any other examples of something similar happening with other archeological findings? unless this is just another miracle similar to the eucharistic miracle of Lanciano (which is already impressive on its own) I'm asking this out of ignorance by the way, as I don't need the turin to believe in Christ.
>>12109 He's not completely off: as any hypnotist worth their salt will tell you, looking at screens puts you into somewhat of a trance. Combine this with software developers putting so much time and effort into measuring and raising engagement (aka how much and often people use their software), and you get a real time waster. >what the fuck why am I using a hypnosis machine You enter similar states when you drive an automobile or read a book. It's best not to worry about this too much, really.
>>12122 You have doubts because someone believes in its authenticity. That's pretty impressive. That's the whole reason it's a miracle. There is nothing else like it, it is impossible. Faking something like this may be more impressive than any resurrection itself. The image itself the only explanation so far is raditation. The image was obviously not made because a body was wrapped for three days. It's a magic item. When Jesus was resurrected it created that image. Really, an unknown person used a body and made the image somehow and then placed the perfect flower pollens and used all the correct ancient roman tools to make the marks and even did the weave correctly and well... It's obviously authentic all the topics are covered in the videos there. It's insane how obviously authentic it is and it's amazing.
We essentially have another dinosaur tissue problem. We know dinosaurs didn't live millions of years ago so what do we do about that? Just ignore it. Shroud of Turin is authetic, just ignore it. It's just how it is. And people wonder how could Jesus perform miracles and still be doubted. Because it doesn't matter! People will stand before Jesus on judgement and still not believe and I don't think that's an exaggeration. I have however heard of at least one person turned to God by a presentation on the shroud of Turin so that's good and well that's good.
>>12114 Yeah, I read that explanation, but Jesus says no one has gone up into heaven, so if Enoch and Elijah were brought there they could testify to what was in heaven (and the Jewish understanding was at least that Elijah was alive and returning before the Messiah, for Christians as John). Unless Jesus is saying no one has gone up into heaven and come down, but if John was Elijah than he did just that, or that no one has gone to heaven, come down, and testified with authority concerning it (as John stated to the Pharisees that he was not Elijah yet he served his purpose in preparing the way for Christ's ministry). In that case, it would seem like the verse testifies against the canonicity of the supposed Book of Enoch, which does just that. Interestingly Moses also appears alongside Jesus during the transfiguration, but we know he died a human death and buried in Moab, and no one prior to Christ was resurrected. That event seems to have been purely a vision however.
>>12110 >let me surrender my time obsessing with occult mind games instead of focusing on the word of God
>>12127 John isn't Elijah, Elijah will return for his second coming as one of the two witnesses. John is the poor man's Elijah with no offensive to John of course. God repeats things and has near far fulfillments. https://www.gotquestions.org/two-witnesses.html The transfiguration was probably just the souls of those people being present. Moses' soul was taken up from Sheol or Abraham's bosom which is Paradise the holding place for saved souls of Old Testament saints or soul sleep or whatever you want to believe. Then his soul returned.
John prepared the way to Kingdom of God and Elijah will prepare it's finally coming to Earth before the millennial reign or end of the world whichever you want to believe. The two witnesses will probably I think be John and Elijah. The Gospel of John who also wrote revelation of course, John's Gospel is the only Gospel which specifically calls John the Baptist a witness and he does it four times.
>>12129 Either way on the original question neither testified about heaven. Do you think the Book of Enoch can claim any inspiration in light of Jesus' statement or was it excluded because it has no spiritual value whatsoever?

>>6836 Who must we confess to if we sinned against a animal but never hurt them or caused them pain in any way. You cannot get forgiveness from a animal. Is confessing to God and repenting always enough? Especially if you did that sin before your baptism trough faith
>>12131 The book of Enoch I think is a preflood text written by Enoch. He also went to Heaven along with Elijah. I think Jesus was just talking in a general sense that he can't talk about Heavenly things because no one had been to the third Heaven. Which is a true statement. As true as when I say everyone is dumb, that's a true statement, you can bring up the three smart people in history but it's true my point is made.
>>12134 Yeah you should confess sins to God.
>>12133 Demons cannot possess a born again Christian at all. That's impossible, even for a computer. Then again I used to bulls-eye womp-rats in my T-16 back home. They're not much bigger than two meters. Use the term demon influence and what have you. A demon would have to posses the Holy Spirit in order to also possess a saved Christian.
>>12137 People get mind controlled all the time. Is the holly sprite really that weak?
>>12138 No they just don't have the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is a Ghost a person. It's the comforter that Jesus sends and by the way he says he sends it to you forever. So in case anyone was worrying about their salvation again just remember that. The Holy Spirit will not leave you even when you don't feel it for a while. A demon possession is the opposite of a Christian in Christ. Just like a Christian a demon possessed person doesn't always have to seem possessed and crawl up walls and stuff. Demons come and live inside in a way we cannot understand from our three-dimensional perspective. But they just can't fully take over a person who already has the Holy Spirit.
>>12135 But why wasn't it included in the Bible if it was written by a prophet
>>12142 Well we don't know in general what happened to the book of Enoch why it faded away after the first century when it seemed to be extremely popular. Maybe it just seems a bit too deep and weird. Apocrypha means hidden. Hidden books with hidden knowledge not exactly incorrect books and Enoch is a very odd deep book I'd say. The Ethiopians consider it canon which is the only reason we still have it preserved. I know of know records about why the main of the churches excluded it. What the book of Enoch's position was before the 3rd century we don't really know. Because we don't really know anything about scripture canon. Among the dead sea scrolls was Enoch. But the earliest Bibles which are from the 300s don't have it. Though they do have plenty of books not in most Bibles today. The Bible I think really ruined scripture. Scriptures were much more indepentant and stood on their own. The Hebrew Bible canon we just don't know too much about. Enoch is a strange book, it was definitely around before the 2nd century I think, I forget the oldest mention we have of it. But it's just an odd book, odd placement off to the side.

How do I escape the doldrum of the Hentai Nationalists? I find myself unable to find websites or spaces that have that deep cut wisdom you used to get from places like 8chan. Where are more places I can go to enrich my faith?
And I would point out, since the earliest Christians Bibles do not have clear Old Testament canon, why should we expect the Jews ever had clear canon. They act like they've had these magic books and clear canon for thousands of years, nonsense. Plenty of books mentioned by the Old Testament are missing of course. Chronicles and Kings were historical records. They weren't holy books, they talk about God yes but that's because of course they do. It's all just become tradition and belief that these things have always been the way they are. Whether God "created the Bible canon" through man well the problem is which one did he create because their is more than one and always has been as far as we can tell. But for Enoch it's just an interesting book. It could have come up around the 3rd or 4th century but most atheist scholars also believe that's when all the scriptures were written. I find Enoch to be similar to Job but Job just got in. Jesus says you ain't getting eternal life from the scriptures. So don't get too caught up in all this.
"Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother." Jesus seems like he is listing the ten commandments but then suddenly throws in "defraud not" randomly in the middle. That's not one of the ten commandments. Chances are Jesus knew the rich man got his riches from fraud. Jesus knows all of us all our lives. That's also part of the reason Jesus probably told him he had to get rid of all his possessions to follow him. Ray Comfort recently brought this to my attention and never noticed. Only Mark has the defraud mention. Not Luke or Matthew, just another mystery I guess i'll never understand.
>>12142 Because if it really was from Enoch it would have been destroyed in the flood. Unless God put it in that cave (where water would have been) so we could find it hundereds of years later then not put it in scripture. I dont think its real
>>12151 According to Wikipedia they date from 200-300 BC and enoch was LONG dead by then..
I have alot of anxiety over the apocrypha. What if there is some secret unforgiveable sin? aaaa
>>12151 Noah took things with him on the boat. He had way more than enough space. He likely took the documents of early genesis with him as well that being the book of Adam and his generations. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXMtwkxWlGk
>>12154 Elijah was born in 900 BC The flood was in 2348 BC >>12151
>>12152 Yes, well no I think the flood was much further back. I'm talking about the book of Enoch, if written by Enoch it needed to be taken by Noah along with any other texts. There's very little he probably took about the pre-flood world because Genesis 5 really doesn't talk much about the world itself. Just a record.
Genesis 5 is of course where the secret message of Jesus is in. Whenever I see attempts to discredit this they're nonsense. It is there, it could be a coincidence, but it is there.
>>12144 Apocrypha is a label that was applied to extra-biblical religious texts after the fact, it seems that books were first called that by Jerome in the 400s when he was preparing his translation of the Bible into Latin. It wouldn't have been called that when they were using it. However Enoch seems to have been commonly referenced throughout the centuries (including being quoted in Jude) yet it got barely mentioned by name anywhere in the later church.
>>12144 >The Bible I think really ruined scripture. >t. /christian/ Thanks now I know to stay away from this board.
>>12153 End your anxiety by reading the Deuterocanon and realizing it is Scripture, as was accepted by all Christians until the Reformation. >>12146 You won't find wisdom online, unfortunately. >>12142 Enoch was seen as at least somewhat authoritative by the early Church, but never to the extent that it was Scripture. This is to be seen in the fact that Jude referred to it in his epistle. We can see this with other books too - the Book of Jasher is mentioned in the OT, but it is not Scripture even though it is referred to as authoritative in some extent. With Enoch, there is some truth in there, I think, especially when it speaks of the Messiah. It's sort of like the Protoevangelium of James. Is it Scripture? No, I believe that it has grains of true traditions in it.
>>12164 The Bible is not a magic book. Which Bible is magic? Which canon? Which manuscripts? The Bible destroys scripture with verses and chapters and excluding or adding incorrect scripture unless you have the correct canon. the Bible contradicts itself because no Bible ever uses the correct copies of the Old Testament but rather the Masoretic Text. Every Bible is corrupted I have yet to see a single proper Bible. Now I can't know for sure what manuscripts are the best but I think I have a good idea and the fact is no one knows either. So do not be ignorant of this fact and worship the Bible. Christians need to accept this hard fact. I used to think the KJV was magic, it is not. The Bible is nothing if anything it is a net negative. Are there some advantages to it? Yeah for academic purposes and everyone can use the verse numbers and find things quicker and whatever. But the Bible has nothing of its own, it is not the word of God. Scripture is the word of God. A fact Christians need to get over. I'm not saying we should return to the early church days. I'm saying that you can do that, I see no evidence that there is currently a magic Bible God created. Now God lets various ways to scripture exist. If people like their ESV Bible that's fine and they can be a much better disciple than me even with corrupted scripture because the message still gets through.
And on that I'm seriously considering making "Scriptures Restored". Something I have become passionate about lately. No verses breaking up sentences, no Chapters. I have seen many cases where chapter and verse breaks work against the Word. Just the word of God plainly. Not for academics or people looking for that one verse to totally own someone in an argument. Read the Word to understand it to feel it unbroken and flowing. And I'd like to put out in physical form each Scripture independently and if you do compile them, compile them into a much more logical order. If you read the New Testament in order they were written it is so much better believe me. You can feel what was progressing in the Church and what was going on. And I will use the manuscripts that are most accurate. Goodbye to the Masoretic and Minority Texts. Thankfully most people don't care about this stuff because it is kind of unimportant. But I do care. I care about a 1% difference between what Jesus said even if it doesn't change any meaning. And people can make their own decisions about what is "true scripture". Would they come to the same conclusions as the protestant reformation? Yes, probably. No matter the church you do currently live in the Reformed Bible world and therefore should we assume the Reformed Bible canon is from God. Or are we able to make our own choices about Tobit and Wisdom or even Enoch. Again, it's a niche thing. Most people just need their protestant canon Bible translated from corrupted manuscripts and they'll be fine. I do not have a problem with that.
>>12165 Well we don't know anything about Jasher it could have been considered canon assuming "canon" was even an idea at that time. Matthew references a prophecy which doesn't exist anywhere, where was that from where did that go. This is just about what writings are 100% true. Enoch is a rather risky book to consider it 100% true. Although if Jude is 100% true and if he is referring to the book of Enoch that at least means Enoch wrote it. Jude clearly says Enoch the man himself said this. We can only know that Enoch wrote something which survived thousands of years if you assume Jude is 100% Then you can say things don't need to be 100% true like people who take early Genesis as more metaphorical. But eventually I stop caring about the argument of course. The problem is once again the idea of "the Bible" and that we need to somehow come up with a perfect canon. Well I don't think it's happening. Millions of people in Ethiopia consider Enoch scripture, They're one of the oldest churches, maybe the oldest, that all depends on how you want to count that stuff. What could I say to deny them their opinion. The oldest surviving copy of New Testament canon is slightly different to today. When it mentions the Apocalypse of Peter it says some read it in the church others don't. Indeed, I wish we simply had individual scriptures to read or not to read, not burden ourselves with the idea of "a scripture" "a book". Their are some advantages to it but there should be other options, largely there isn't. People will add subchapter titles literally adding to the Word but they dare not try to come up with a different order. Ordering the epistles by length is frankly kind of dumb.

Hello anons, I have a problem that is going on my whole life. I cannot get rid of it no matter how hard I try, there are short moments of success but in general I fall back to the same vice and mental torment that is torturing me since I can remember. I have an intense hatred and fear of women. It is not that I want to hate them, but the horrible experiences in my family made it default mode to me to react to women very harshly even if I don't want to, even if they are friendly to me, even when they show interest and it is mutual. For two years now, whenever I come close to a girl I have a way of doing something stupid, and when I imagine all chances are blown I despise the girl with a black, sinister rage that I suppress as much as I can. I asked God many times to deliver me from this misery, but I am not worth being listened to. He gave me strength, but my flesh and mind is weak. Whenever I become full of rage, disassociate from reality and am too much in my head; I cannot perceive my surroundings, sense people around me and cannot see my inner life properly. For that I my prayers are not potent and more damaging than the other way around. Anons, what is there to do? I am at the brink of desperation.
>>12172 I think you might have a demon, anon. I don't say this to upset you, but the magnitude of the rage being described here might certainly be the product of demonic activity. Do not fear or despair though. I think there are several things you must do here. You have had had some horrible experiences with women in your family. Indeed you suffered some injustices, but you must forgive them in your heart, even if it is painful or difficult for you - "as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive" (Colossians 3:13). Also remember that the Lord will render according to their works to those who have wronged you. "You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD." (Leviticus 19:18). This is the first step. During all of this, you must be praying regularly. God does hear your prayers, and is listening. We can do nothing without God. Pray for discernment, self-control, for humility and the ability to forgive. I would also pray that the Lord remove any unclean spirits who are following you either, for this might be part of the situation we are dealing with her in all honesty. Certain demons, the Lord teaches, can only be removed by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21), so I would advise that you try this and remain diligent in prayer. Remember and read the parable of the unjust judge (Luke 18:1-8). It's important to remember that dishonoring people without cause is straying from the love that God demands that we have for one another, and leaves us liable for judgement and hellfire, and is a direct act of disrespect towards God Himself, in whose image those women are created. >Forgive >Pray >Fast
>>12171 Nice that you have taken every single thing out of context. Green texter when will you learn. Yes the New Testament does contradict the Old because no one uses the Septuagint anymore. Yes the Bible is not a magic book. It is a compilation of Scriptures. As for the third green text this is just nonsense. You are clearly being disingenuous for seemingly no reason. "your own Satanic scriptures." Literally what? You did not even read my post you just wanted to try and green text and get your "one ups" do not waste my time with foolishness.
>>12171 Also calling scripture satanic because it doesn't have the verses added long long after the New Testament. You are either trying to be annoying or I don't know. I am aware obviously it's easy to find the scriptures online without verse numbers. Options to buy scriptures the way I describe physically are almost none existent. Like I said people can read corrupted Bibles. It's not a huge deal. But you are being very annoying to imply corrupted Bibles are magic and what the early church uses is evil. I had and have no intention of calling you Satanic, but you go insane because someone wants to simply use the closest thing they can to an early church style. I don't want to be rude. But what an annoying rude ignorant disingenuous post.

>>12177 Thank you I am aware 1% of Bibles in circulation are using the septuagint as their main source. I have one. Oh, so which Canon is immortal? And which manuscript tradition?
>>12177 http://ecclesia.org/truth/m-m.html http://ecclesia.org/truth/septuagint.html Come on now which is correct and which is Satanic? Which verses make a Bible and person satanic. Which canon makes a Bible Satanic. Is including Tobit satanic or is not including it satanic. Or maybe are they both okay? Because I don't think you are a satanic if you read the ESV just because it doesn't have all the verses KJV has. Grow up, you psychopath. Responded to myself by accident last time by accident, hm.
>>12178 "He put before them another parable, saying: 'The kingdom of the heavens is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man having taken, sowed in his field, which indeed is smallest of all the seeds; but when it is grown, it is greater than the garden plants, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and encamp in its branches.'" Mark 13:31-32 >>12179 Guess what you twit, the Septuagint is missing large sections and has two manuscripts that contradict each other as well: https://ccat.sas.upenn.edu/nets/edition/06-iesous-nets.pdf So you have resolved nothing. You have the mouth of Satan, because you can't see that he is living within you and working through you to destroy Christian unity. Satan isn't an external force. Satan is the master of strife and division, and he lives within men: "When the unclean spirit is gone out from the man, it passes through waterless places, seeking rest and not finding any. Then it says, ‘I will return to my house, from where I came out.’ And having come, it finds it swept and put in order. Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more evil than itself, and having entered, they dwell there; and the last of that man becomes worse than the first.” Luke 11:24-26 "But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls." Luke 11:17 "It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit." Jude 19 >Come on now which is correct and which is Satanic? All are correct to men with the Holy Spirit. All are satanic tools to a man devil possessed.
>>12181 Okay you have answered zero questions. Oh wait what's this: "All are correct to men with the Holy Spirit. All are satanic tools to a man devil possessed" All the Bibles are correct? What was that thing I said before, oh right God allows many ways to Scripture and I have never once that Scripture is evil. And I also just said all canon is okay. Wow it's almost like we are pretending to argue over nothing. What a frankly bad person you are in this case. I don't like modern Bibles. The order of the New Testament is poor, the manuscripts they use I don't agree with. I don't like verse and chapter numbers... You are the one who seems to have a problem with that. I have only ever said that people can read their ESVs and NIVs and that's fine. You are the one saying it is randomly Satanic to present scripture close to what the early church had. You have been very rude.
Rude porn anime poster. Yes you did post a porn anime character by the way. Are you satanic or something? No, I don't think you are. Individual bare bones scriptures using the manuscripts I believe to be original for christians. Not all Christians because 99.5% of people don't care about the manuscript topic. This is a topic I am interested in and mentioned briefly how it annoys me. And you have been disrespectful and aggressive. If you are not interested in the manuscript subject, I don't care. There's endless subjects in the church people get interested in. Creationism. Timelines, Archeology, Original language study. Whatever side thing they are into. There is no immortal canon. Which scripture is true? What do you mean by true? Which canon is okay, if a church includes the Talmud in canon is that okay? No not really. So don't ever call someone satanic and the mouth of satan so casually as an insult. Do not carelessly use these words.
>>12169 > Millions of people in Ethiopia consider Enoch scripture, They're one of the oldest churches, maybe the oldest, that all depends on how you want to count that stuff. What could I say to deny them their opinion. The Ethiopian church has a heretical Christology, for one. The Biblical canon is determined through the life and experience of the Church. It really doesn't matter what was in the earliest surviving copy of the New Testament. The Apocalypse of Peter was determined to not be up to the same status as the rest of the NT over time, and the authoritative councils of the church decided against it and its Scriptural status. The same goes with other works such as the Epistle of Barnabas, the Shepherd of Hermas, etc. This is an issue that is really only an issue for Sola Scriptura Protestants. Orthodox Christians know the canon from Holy Tradition, and the Bible exists within the context of Holy Tradition. > Indeed, I wish we simply had individual scriptures to read or not to read, not burden ourselves with the idea of "a scripture" "a book". Your mistake is thinking that anyone has ever understood the Bible as a uniform 'book' rather than a library of diverse Scriptures which cover different topics and genres. Essentially, this is only an issue for Protestants. Their entire philosophy about Scripture is heretical nonsense.
>>12185 Well everything you said doesn't contradict anything I have said. So, okay. Aside from believing your canon is the correct one. If you want to believe that go ahead, I could not care less.
>>12187 >Aside from believing your canon is the correct one. If you want to believe that go ahead, I could not care less. This is just the typical Protestant mindset that every man is a pope who can determine what is or is not the canon. The Church has been led into all truth by the Holy Spirit just as Jesus promised, so I will trust the testimony of Holy Tradition to what constitutes the canon of Scripture before anything else.
>>12185 This is the whole problem with greentext though. A good example. The first thing you greentext you say the Ethiopian church is wrong in theology, somehow, you don't say how. But I don't really care about that in this case. That has nothing to do with what you're responding to. I am saying I cannot change the mind of the Ethiopian church they've had Enoch for a long time. Very simple. And then look at the second greentext. somehow, amazingly, you are trying to argue with me despite agreeing that scriptures are individual, literally what I said and what everyone on the planet knows. And I prefer to have them not in one book or if I did I'd make sure it's done better than modern Bibles. Very simple. "No they should be in one book and my current Bible is the best or how dare you say my version of the Bible doesn't use the right manuscripts or the order of the scriptures should be different or middle english is a more rich language." Yeah great. That's fine. I'll use my Bible which I have my reasons for, reasons I haven't even brought up. And you use yours and that 1% will really shine. This is why greentext is bad, respond to the whole not try to take snippets and make your own thing.
>>12189 >This is why greentext is bad, respond to the whole not try to take snippets There's nothing wrong with responding to snippets. Every post can contain it's own points. Every part can always be discussed individually and bears no special relation to another just because it's appeared together. All that's happening is anon is arguing in bad faith, that's got nothing to do with the use of quotation in writing a response.
>>12188 I tell you it's perfectly fine that you believe Tobit is scripture because a man in a pagan fish hat told you it is. That's fine. I have no problem with Tobit. Where is the promise by Jesus that the church is led by the Holy Spirit to truth about scriptural canon? Are you talking about "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." Because this is about each individual. You know the Holy Spirit is for each person yes? So which church branch is specifically led by the Holy Spirit? Is it the Catholic church, I mean from their history, seems like they grieved the spirit often.
>>12189 The Church, not the individual person, is the foundation and pillar of all truth. This is testified to in 1 Timothy 3:15. This Church is one Church, with one faith, and one baptism, one body, one Lord, one Spirit, and one Father (Ephesians 4:4-6). And I am referring to John 16:13: >When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. You speak about the individual, but you should be focused on the Body of Christ, "for we are all members of one body" (Ephesians 4:25). "For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility." (Ephesians 2:14-16). Within this Body of Christ, there are diverse members, among them the bishops, priests, deacons and laity, all of which are attested to in God-breathed Scripture, and known from the earliest days of the Church, even in the day of St. Ignatius of Antioch. The Holy Spirit guides the Church , the Body of Christ, which is itself a theanthropic organism. There is one Spirit and one Body of Christ. There are not many faiths, many baptisms, many bodies, many Lords, etc. There is one. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd. - as it was true in the time of Christ, so it remains true today. The one true Church founded by the Lord Jesus Christ was the Orthodox Church, from which split away the heterodox non-Chalcedonian churches, and from which Rome split away with its heretical innovations in doctrine, papal supremacy, and much else. May God have mercy on those within these heterodox churches. Many sheep remain outside the fold. The other churches may teach many true things, but they mix it with lies, and are bootleg versions of the real teachings of Christ.
It's amazing the time wasted here arguing about nothing. You realise I'm talking about selling individual Bible books without verses or chapters and using the Septuagint and Majority Text manuscripts. That's what this is about. And one can decide whether he want to have Wisdom of Solomon in his scripture collection. "No my version of big book has all things correct " Great >>12192 Yes again, the Holy Spirit leads individuals to truth. Nowhere does it say catholic church will be led to the truth of canon or any other church branch over another. Do you want to believe that all churches are led to a different truth about canon, because they are dumb and smelly? Okay. That's fine. So the Holy Spirit leads churches to canon truth which is nowhere in the Bible, but church branches that you disagree with are incorrect because they simply are and they smell and you are right and your church is right and is licherally founded by Peter and is the only one listening to the Holy Spirit. Great. Are we done now.
>>12193 You did not respond to anything that I said in any substance. Ultimately your position is founded on a complete rejection of the traditions of the Church and the guidance of the Spirit, based on the fact that you claim one can 'decide' what to have in one's own 'scripture collection'. This is the final form of Protestantism.
>>12194 Yes I would suggest everyone have a scripture collection including books like Enoch and Wisdom of Solomon and Barnabas. Because they are very interesting. What is divine inspired scripture? I think most people already know. No one uses Barnabas as the word of God but it's Christian writing from 70 AD. Very valuable. Although he does claim the world would end after a total of 6,000 years, so. I enjoy your arguments that your canon is superior to Protestant canon because... well it simply is. Like I said, great. I myself could not care less about the reformed canon I like Wisdom.
>>12195 Sorry I'll correct myself. Your canon is correct because it was led into existence by the Holy Spirit and everything else is wrong. This you know because... And that's great. Fantastic. I just don't care if you believe that. It has no bearing on me. "But it's truuue!" Why? This is dangerous thinking. It's not biblical and it just is an assumption. As much an assumption as a KJV purest makes. They believe God led church history to the KJV. "Yeah but they're wrong! The true canon of the Bible was established at my specific time and place that I claim." OK! I have things to do now.

>>12182 >to present scripture close to what the early church had Better men than you have done the hard work of translating what the early church had over 100 years ago and without lifting their work to the status of scripture: https://ccel.org/ccel/lightfoot/fathers/fathers.i.html You can buy a physical copy still: https://www.amazon.com/Apostolic-Fathers-J-B-Lightfoot/dp/0801056128 But the church is a living entity, it isn't frozen in time in 33 AD. All the branches of theology that have emerged since then have their own validity. So trying to time travel instead of focusing on what work Jesus needs you to do in the present for the life of His flock is ultimately a distraction. Because it is impossible to access the full knowledge of the early church since they literally had the memories and powers of the walking and talking apostles at their disposal, and unnecessary because Jesus is a living and a reigning God who leads people to a true understanding of Himself even in today's environment.
>>12184 >Which canon is okay, if a church includes the Talmud in canon is that okay? No not really. Canon scripture has be to inspired by the Holy Spirit. That is understood by prayer and meditation and whether it draws a person closer to or away from Jesus as their Lord, God, and Saviour. The Talmud doesn't satisfy that because it says that Jesus is burning in Sheol. Meanwhile Enoch seems to be corrupt in many places because Enoch chapter 71 says that Enoch is the Messiah, the Son of Man, and its illustration of angels is completely anti-Biblical and occult. Paul quotes a Greek hymn to Zeus in Acts 17:28, does that mean that Christians should include hymns to Zeus in scripture? Everything can be read but its spiritual value must be discerned from service for the church and experience in preaching and in teaching. As Saint Paul says: >All things are lawful,” but not all things are profitable; “All things are lawful,” but not all edify. Let no one seek the good of himself, but that of the other. 1 Corinthians 10:23-24 So the Ethiopians can use Enoch in their church because they have a holy tradition that teaches through it, the Catholics and the Orthodox can use the apocrypha in their church in the same way, and Protestants the proto-canon in their way. God will lead His own to what they need for their salvation.

>>12206 And before you ask, how do we know whether someone has the Spirit, God gave a list of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in Isaiah 11:2-3: >and the Spirit of God shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and godliness shall fill him; the spirit of the fear of God This is the same across all translations.
Is it sinful to reject someone's generosity? A friend just offered to pay for me to go on a trip with him when I told him that I didn't have the spare money for it. I turned down his offer. I would much rather not go on the trip than accept a large amount of money from him to go; it has nothing to do with him personally (I would go if I had the means), I just feel extremely uncomfortable accepting so much money as a gift, especially for something so inessential. Is that a prideful stance to have?
>>12208 Of course not. Nothing is binding you to accept anything from anybody. If you don't wish to be lifted off the ground (or in this case, brought up to a frankly superfluous platform), you may stay where you are without repercussion. So long as you aren't rejecting an intervention for the better or something spiritually / mentally / physically necessary, charity is a virtue that doesn't require accepting.
>>12208 I doubt it was sinful for you to turn down the offer because of that reason. Accepting such a large and generous gift (compared to your own means) can put strain on your conscience as you feel guilty about having cost him so much. I think most people should understand this and don't press too hard. On the other hand, being able to freely accept generosity (no matter how big), as long as it's freely given (no strings) is a good thing and it's a good thing for people to learn. After all, God has freely given us a priceless and unrepayable gift. An inability to accept small things may grow into an inability to accept large things. I, like many people, have family who are not very insightful in giving. I had especially grown weary of them doing things for me. By the grace of God I was able to perceive something from this situation that might help you. By closing myself off to generosity from these family members, I had denied them opportunities to practice their love for me. In a way I was sabotaging their spiritual growth even if only a little. It's not quite the same situation as yours but if you always have consideration for the other person, it is very difficult to sin in these kinds of situations. That of course goes equally for your friend in understanding your reluctance. It's about loving other people.
>>12185 >The Ethiopian church has a heretical Christology, for one. The Vatican in 1973 and 1988 and the Eastern Orthodox churches in 1989 came to an agreement with the Alexandrian church as representative of the Oriental Orthodox position that their Christology was not heretical. They asserted that they were never monophysites and that the Chalcedonian schism arose from confusion over terminology. They are however schismatics in that they erroneously exonerated the Monophysite monk Eutyches in the "Robber" council of 449, yet after accepting that he was rightfully condemned by Chalcedon in an independent council in Ephesus in 475 they still refused to conform to the rest of the Christian world under its articles and anathemized Pope Leo I's letter to the Patriarch of Constantinople on the matter in the same setting.

I've noticed that "racist"/"weeb" Christians are really looked down upon on this board. But why? What's the problem with their opinions/hobbies and how are those, in the slightest, unChristian?
>>12173 Anon, you are right. And also, that demonic oppression occurs during afternoon and lasts until evening/night. I have to suppress any outward expression of what's going on inside. Fasting helps a lot. Whenever I am about to conquer it or be delivered from it, temptation is sent my way without delay to weaken and depress me. Life is meaningless if love cannot be expressed fully, and is very restrained if you are preoccupied with fear and hatred to women.
>>12226 Racism is unbiblical. And by 'racism' I mean separate treatment and dehumanization of entire groups. I do not mean that all people are exactly the same in every way. I don't believe that, because it is as obvious to me as the fact that dog breeds exist. God doesn't judge in the way that we do. When it comes to anime fans, they are not bad per se. I enjoy anime and manga from time-to-time, but anime is associated with lots of degenerate fetish material, pedophilia and other things. It really depends how one participates in such circles.

>>12226 God loves all his creations even if they do evil, we are commanded by God to love our neighbors and enemies, and to defeat evil with good. There are many people in the Government, the elite and the secret societies who aren't Jewish but still subvert humanity and lead them to a totalitarian world government, regardless if they pay reverence to the Jews, they themselves are not Jews and by only removing the jews from the situation we wouldn't solve the problem of evil people in high places. We would still be left with the non-Jewish parts of the elite, the government and the secret societies. Christianity is for it's own belief system separate from white nationalism (although there are many nazi Christians who argue that God favors white men), Christianity has no original racial or gender favoritism, so leftist and liberals say it's anti-semitic, fascist or misogynist while the right says it's a jewish psyop or leftist. This paradox shows that people just want to define Christianity through their political lens and stop there. A belief system that is against bad behavior will still call out bad behavior even if it's against the "bad guys".

why are gyms not split up by sex/gender? Any man with normal testosterone levels will lust after the sweaty girls in yoga pants. also they play a lot of sexual music videos on the TV's at my gym. I am constantly fighting against these lustful urges and I'm not a masturbator but I feel like it's setting back my spiritual progress because sexual images are entering my mind for 2+ hours a day
Then dont go to a gym. “If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it from you' Also there are plenty of better ways to have a healthy body. Do sports or martial arts or lift at home or climbing or whatever.

>>12258 The way I think about it, our instincts, yeah I doubt humans were predisposed to it because we were created in Eden, where we would have no need for them. But we can clearly see that out modern way of life is unnatural to us. We're trying to restrain our instincts. And it's clearly causing us great spiritual pain. What does that all mean? Would that also be a result of the Fall, as we will never be truly satisfied with this world? And it makes me think that if they were a part of us from the very beginning, in a more constructive and positive way, maybe they were given to us by God as a way for us to survive in the harsh world created by our Fall. I'm just thinking out loud now.
>>12265 Yeah, I agree that Adam and Eve were in harmony with their bodies and souls in Eden. Being controlled by anger, lust, pride, envy and sin in general are from after the Fall. I would say that modern society is unhealthy because it actually acts on our worst instincts more than anything - advertisements stimulate desire for everything but God, we are encouraged to value vain things like material goods, and are increasingly encouraged to indulge in unnatural sexual practices, gluttony, greed and every other sin under the sun. They want us to forget God. Civilization is not bad, but civilization is one of the greatest evils when the society as a whole is immoral and does not think of God - The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. (Psalm 9:17) - just think of Sodom and Gomorrah. The world that exists today is in a sort of 'sub-natural' state (which is different from 'unnatural') - not all of our instincts are good. > And it's clearly causing us great spiritual pain. What does that all mean? Would that also be a result of the Fall, as we will never be truly satisfied with this world? Yes, we will never be satisfied in the world. This is the message of Ecclesiastes. Everything but God is vain and empty, ultimately. The things of the world are unstable and impermanent. To cling to them merely invites suffering and pain into our lives. This is why Christ teaches us to lay up treasures in heaven. Don't seek the stable among the unstable. When we continue to cling to things that pass away and do not persist, after many times, we will be led to look for that which does not pass away, which is God.

Need a bit of advice. I was in my church's choir until the end of last year whereupon I was sort of kicked out for refusing to wear a mask. Now the restrictions have lifted for now where I live and a lot of people are asking me if I'll return or just straight up asking me to return. I don't mind going back but I'm hesitant to for these reasons: 1. Nothing has really ended as long as everything can be locked back down again on the whim of the government and people will go along with it. I don't want to be in a situation where I'm only kept around when it's convenient and then kicked out again when it's not. 2. They have the attitude that they did nothing wrong which I find sickening. I explained (politely) to one guy my issue and he was very surprised at the idea that restrictions and lockdowns were damaging people and were not merely a trifling inconvenience. I'm not even expecting an apology or anything but just the admission that they did what they did out of fear (of getting sick or of reprisal) and not because it was "right." Whether I go back to the choir or not is really of secondary importance to me. What I really want is reconciliation because I still like them. I've been putting it off by saying "I don't know" or "maybe" to questions but they're really quite persistent and even my priest is urging me to go back. What should I do?

Corinthians 11 is the best church chapter in Paul's letters. The sheer contrast of the modern Thanksgiving/Eucharist compared to back then. Paul wasn't upset that people were "holding the Eucharist which is Jesus with their hands!" He was addressing the fact people weren't sharing the bread and they were getting drunk! It's so ridiculous. They didn't have little crackers and a cup to hand out, people had to bring bread and wine to the Church with them and they weren't sharing it with others and they were just going to town feasting before anyone others even showed up. What legends. They weren't sharing! You're in a house church and some guy is off to the side starving while you're feasting on the Lord's Supper going NOM NOM NOM getting drunk off Jesus' blood. Unimaginable.

>>12300 Well obviously the Corthinians thing has nothing to do with being a Eunch. And When Deuteronomy says don't cut yourself or have a bald spot inbetween your eyes it's probably talking about paganism and what peopel were doing at that time cutting to pour blood. There's a few times God says not to have tattoos or make incisions on yourself and so on. Having your balls removed to become a eunch, not really the same thing. What this comes down to is Matthew 19:12. εὐνούχισαν. They can try to get around it in some translations but Jesus says MAKE themselves Eunchs for the Kingdom of God's sake. He is saying people Emasulate themselves for Heaven and those who can accept this should accept this. Jesus says cut off an arm if it causes you to sin. Take out your eyes. If you aren't willing to do these things you do not take sin seriously. You need to be prepared for persecution, Christians had nails slowly driven into and under their finger nails and put in boiling water and all the rest of it, Jesus was crucified. You better be prepared to cut something off if it causes sin and really the only argument for this is your balls. And cutting your balls off does reduce sexual thoughts greatly. How many people should become Eunchs. People know if they have the gift of Celibacy. However, there's no realistic way to simply have your balls removed. If you say it has to all be done spiritually, that's not always really, if you had crack in your house and you were a crack addict, yes you can over come that addiction spiritually but no matter what you probably should get rid of the crack too. The penis is the only thing that is attached to the body and it causes serious addict, it can. Jesus says some become Eunchs for the Kingdom of God, some become Eunchs. >>12301 YOU MAKE ME WASTE MY TIME FOR THIS!? Don't use the word eunch! Just say Celibate. >>12304 I see you have decided to ignore what Jesus said. Not even make an argument for the greek or nothing. You have your idea and you are just going to go along with it no matter what Jesus says. But frankly I have zero interest since the person doesn't even want to be a eunch.

The only argument is he was speaking metaphorically. The word in question I'm not even sure because whenever you get into these Greek things it's not just a word it's the sentence and some manuscripts have slightly different word that mean the same thing but not really. I purpose two problems with this. Jesus just got finished talking about REAL types of Eunuchs, then he gets to the people who make themselves Eunuchs and he doesn't distinguish it any different. You would think he'd say "They live like Eunuchs" but no he says they make themselves Eunuchs they castrate/emasulate themselves. He could have used the words they live like Eunchs or they remain celibater. He could have made it easier if that's what he meant but no he just says they make themselves Eunchs We understand castration of the spirit and these kinds of terms. But Jesus was talking about real Eunchs and he used the terms you would expect for real Eunchs. However before the mention of real Eunchs he also talks simply about not being married. There you go.

Heya. I'd like to ask a question here instead of making a whole new thread without monopolizing space: Short version question: Which scriptures from The Bible encourage doing good deeds in secret? Long version question: I've read a comment in a Youtube video about not trusting people who virtue signal. It's basically like this: >This is the very reason why the Bible encourages people to do their good deeds in secret so that God may bless you. The point the scripture is trying to make is that the best good deeds are done in secret because this makes it nearly impossible for the ego to get in the way of doing the right thing for the right reasons. Knowing this: Which scriptures, chapters, quotes... from The Bible encourage doing good deeds in secret without being dominated by ego in the long run? KJV preferred if possible.

I imagine that this question was asked in this board multiple times but here I go. TLDR: Can a former homosexual be saved? Suppose someone in the past committed an act of homosexuality, he had sex with a man. Years pass by, he starts reading the Bible and after reading Leviticus 20:13 he realizes >Oh shit that was really disgusting, I shouldn't have done that. >Am I gonna be saved? Remembering Acts 16:31, if a man who had sex with another man knowingly wants to get his act together to stop his wicked ways to a healthier way of life in Jesus Christ and the Lord, will he be saved?
>>12457 It was not safe or viable for laborers to work through the darkness of night before the invention of electric lighting. This is being referenced by Jesus in this metaphor.
>>12646 Yes. There is no sin which Christ's blood cannot overpower and cleanse, not even an abomination. All sins are forgiven and forgotten when a man believes on the Lord Jesus Christ. Your sin is not greater than Paul's, who persecuted the Lord extensively and made martyrs of His disciples and saints, yet he was saved.

>>12650 I guess these two things I've posted kind of contradict each other. Manasseh wasn't justified of all his sins by asking for it, it's just a poetic simplification. He reintroduced proper sacrifice in the Temple after his repentance. Forgiveness and sacrifice is sort of complicated it's partly symbolic of course. Sacrifice was extremely important to a level that's disconnected from our post-Jesus world, the killing of animals for sacrifice. It was messy and unpleasant, just imagine having to kill some screaming lamb all the time and blood everywhere. It's essentially punishment, God showing just how ugly sin is and the cost. Other cultures continued the similar tradition of sacrifice for sins, not always killing just like the Jews, some times they used scapegoats. Actual scapegoats. God can forgive anyone obviously and we know he judges based on opportunities. But if you hear about Jesus and reject the sacrifice you reject salvation. Sacrifice is important simply because God is perfect, by his nature he has to judges fairly, if sin means death then forgiveness of sin really requires death. Faith and sacrifice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCG8yrJskRk Apostate Jews do not have faith in God because they don't believe in Jesus and they don't accept the sacrifice. "Oh but if they rebuild the Temple and start the daily sacrifice won't that be the same as before, they don't need Jesus." Yes. And where did those Old Testament Jews go? Not Heaven. There was never a promise of Heaven, the idea of humans going to where the Gods lived is more or less something Jesus introduced to the world. The idea of going to where the Gods were is probably one of the most arrogant things you could ever claim. The idea you can be good enough to go there was always and should always be understood as ridiculous. I know there might be a few things like Valhalla but for the most part humans always claimed that obviously you go to the underworld after death not to God's house. Even the Jews didn't claim such nonsense as Heaven afterlife, some of them still don't but if they do it's only to compete with Christians. The sacrifices in the Temple were not about being justified to perfection because a dead lamb is not good enough, well what is? What sacrifice is good enough? Hmm. ...Today at church the preacher yelled a lot, clapped his hands and shouted hallelujah. I'm starting to think I go to a pentecostal church without knowing it. Surely I have been bamboozled. I used to be at a church with a very quiet pastor. Got his message across just fine. Not that there's anything wrong with yelling but, I don't know I mean, I can hear you.
>>12648 This is not true. Blaspheming the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven, "in this world, or the next".
>>12658 There's a reason for that, not that it is a sin so wicked that the Lord was incapable of remitting it, but that the Holy Spirit is the one who grants it to a man to repent, and He will not do so to those who have truly blasphemed against Him (which is to say His deeds).
>>12658 >>12662 Not that blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is at all relevant to the question I was answering.
I'm so tired of life. All I asked from God, is to show Himself to me. But He never does. I just want a tiny bit of joy in my life. The only reason I'm still talking to Him, is because I have no-one else in my life. I just want a tiny bit of His light to hold on to.
The original sin was committed by God. He cursed us with life because He wanted to create things instead of just being happy with what He had. There is no reason to create life if you are perfect. Needing something is a flaw, and God is suppose to be without flaws. I get angry every day at Him for creating me, and then not even speaking to me. Why is He such a cancer towards me?
I wonder if my life decays because I'm not of this world, and that that's why everyone else's keeps growing. I sometimes wonder if I might be someone special, like lucifer's son. That'd explain why God keeps me in this place instead of taking me to heaven. I deserve to be taken to heaven before I die, like in the bible, but I guess God holds grudges. Or maybe I'm just another normal soul, and God wants to be poetic by taking us all up at the same time or something. I'd suicide, but there's no guaranteed way for me to do it. And I just don't have the energy. This is the world that God made, and He refuses to speak to His creations. I revoked His right to keep me on this planet and then to take me to heaven, but I guess He only wants us to have free-will when it suits Him. He owes me heaven. How can He send anyone to hell, when He is the one that cursed us with life. He OWES us all heaven and the powers of creation, and an apology. That's what an adult would do, and that's what I expect from someone that's "flawless".
>>12673 I assume all three of these posts you made. You are asking to see God which is a lesser blessing. For example I've seen Holy Ghost with my eyes, that's because I suck and God knows I suck so I needed something physical to see to remember to believe. Like Thomas, he needed to see and Jesus says more blessed are those who believe and don't see. But he still showed himself to Thomas, it wasn't right away after many days he did show him because for all those days Thomas wanted to believe and see and so he did. Some of my greatest preachers I like have not had a single physical sensation. It's perfectly possible. Some people have great testimonies, they heard God speak to them in an audible voice or they saw something or they felt electricity or liquid fire go through them. None of these are guarantees and in fact you're more blessed if you are saved without them if you truly believe without them. Jesus says people are always looking for a sign, tsk tsk. What reason do you need to see Jesus? Do you believe already, then you don't need to see. We all would like that but you should be in joy without that. God doesn't need to create life. If he's perfect and doesn't need to do anything and therefore shouldn't, then what? Should he just exist in his own thoughts without thinking or doing anything? God has a personality and all that. God is a cancer to you? What more can God do for you, specifically why? What is it you deserve. Don't think you deserve anything but the reason you are not happy is your fault, make sure you know it's your fault no God's. Blaming God is the number one reason, perhaps the only reason people don't know God truly, they are atheist and so on. People don't like their situation and blame God and never themselves. All the promises of eternal life are there. " I deserve to be taken to heaven before I die" mmmm. I wonder what the problem you are facing could be. Your post here really starts to decay into madness and "me me me me me". It's essential that you know you don't deserve Heaven. I don't deserve Heaven, C.S. Lewis and Augustine and whatever Christian you might like they don't deserve Heaven. What's the point of Jesus if you just deserve Heaven. Going to Heaven is not normal thinking, it's post-Jesus thinking. It's a common idea now but it's really insane. Jesus says ONLY God is good. Good is moral perfection, you have to be perfect to go to Heaven. And the reality is not only are you not perfect you suck, I suck. So many sins so many failures. God takes sin very seriously. The very first step is to acknowledge you are sinful and need forgiveness and transformation not that you are good enough already. And that transformation must take place all over the rest of your appointed years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_TyPusYRYw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svXXfv2Y6P4

Like he's got a big head or something. On the subject of the internet christians, I find it horrible that the "Christian memes" stuff is probably the most popular. Apparently people can be converted through such I guess that's ok I don't know. I saw Mike Winger who you've definitely probably seen if you look at internet Christian video stuff, he recently talked about how he didn't want to sue another Christian because he thought he probably wouldn't win. Now the other Christian is Joel Osteen but nevertheless taking someone to court when it is related to Christ seems ridiculous, it's what the Corinthians were doing to each other. I just can't imagine ever wanting to sue someone or take someone to court for any reason, I don't know if it's part of being Christ like or my own conviction I just don't care. A brother could hit me with a car and I wouldn't care, God will deal with him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PSjQWSJ_28 The introduction here. Anyone know of some places to find good pictures, descriptions, and other background info on Biblical stories? I was thinking of doing some Biblical Illustrations.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrS-46e59V4 A display of a fake Christian, always think these are important or interesting to see. He uses the term "Chaplin" which probably could be used as a better short term for pragmatic Christians. Of course Acts of the Apostles says the disciples were called Christians so really you have to be a disciple first to be a Christian but I guess who cares. Christian means 'little anointed one' that's actually a rather big title. The problem really the fundamental problem with these pragmatic Christians, the Jordan Petersons of the world, the John Greens, listen to John Green over and over refer to "Religion" his "Religion" he never says God or Jesus once I don't think and he just goes on about how his "religion" helps him live life. It's all about having the best life now. When that's almost in a sense the opposite of the whole right. The fact of Jesus simply doesn't matter to them when THAT'S THE POINT. Jesus is the biggest criminal in the world if he wasn't who he claimed to be. When Pliny the Younger tortured a Christian woman in the early 2nd century all she did was scream about loving Jesus and refused to answer any questions and just prattled on about Jesus. Christianity is a cult of personality for Jesus, I don't know if I use that term rightly but the point is it's all about Jesus and not your life. So what really matters because we can have mental acceptance of Jesus. I think you need to accept the real biblical truth and realise you are going to Hell. At that point you can beg Jesus and he can make himself known to you. Which is why salvation of works is so dangerous to the uninitiated because they don't have assurance of Hell. Assurance of Hell comes first. You need to have assurance of Hell. Because if you believe you can be good enough then you technically don't really need to fully come to Christ you don't need to be born again and you can sort of flounder about because no one knows who is going to Heaven or Hell but I'll just do my best and I basically believe Jesus so I'm sure it'll work out. Step out of that world and just think about the reality and have assurance of Hell. You are going to Hell and you were always going to go there and there's nothing you can do to stop it, it's already too late for you. At that point you can come more truly to Christ and then from there be an upright person. Of course trying to be an upright person is good beforehand as well. That's how that one Roman was saved in Acts, God found favour in his good deeds and then brought Peter to show him the Gospel truth.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmnUkNT55gU I always ignored this thinking it was going to be stupid or but it seems possible. We know for sure certain easter eggs are intended of God. Jesus and the scarlet worm, the Hebrew camp shape, some people don't like Jesus in Genesis 5 I think it's obviously intended. I actually have a lot already I need to put a list together, I don't think I'll include doves in sanddollars types of things, but there are some hidden secrets for fun I think. The more I see the more I wonder if we are in some kind of video game and God is a programmer of some kind. The brain being a computer with soul-software that no one can figure out. DNA code, quantum particles suggest the universe is constantly being refreshed, in fact if the universe didn't have a constant source it'd be a jumbled mess like static fuzz on a TV screen, everything orbits round and round like some kind of computer demo. Some times you get the sense the Old Testament wars are God playing a real time strategy game. God uses these terms like heart and full of the Spirit like we have a bar I imagine beside us telling us how full of the Spirit we are. Higher dimensions we know you can see the same things but a great deal more so we can't even see everything of ourselves if higher dimensions exist. But I think God does like easter eggs- HE DOESN'T DO A LOT OF EXPLAINING EITHER!
>>12797 >But I think God does like easter eggs- HE DOESN'T DO A LOT OF EXPLAINING EITHER! You are in fact correct Anon. And no denigration to either yourself, and certainly not to God. It's simply a security-type system to confound the enemy of all mankind, Satan, and all his little, obedient, golems. >"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter and the glory of kings to search it out." https://biblehub.com/proverbs/25-2.htm
That's why were able to input our solar system and everything so perfectly into our computers, because everything just works that way, that's why NASA or whoever can land on comets or whatever they do. Everything is calculable and predictable that way. I think only Enoch mentions that angels are in control of the orbits I don't think that's in any of the other books. I really want to know how everything works, why everything. Why's the universe so incomprehensibly big. What does God know, well he knows the future so he's already part of the future kingdom in a way or like that's what he wanted or maybe he limits what he wants to know certainly it'd be weird to constantly know the future why do anything unless I don't know. The Father is giving the Son a kingdom of free-will souls who are going to make this kingdom and then, really it's kind of like God made everything for himself as the Bible says, he made it so he could get to the Paradise kingdom where he could live 'as Jesus' in the Kingdom with his created soul people things. I heard someone point out that there's not going to be three Gods walking around in Heaven. Jesus is the only one we see. Although that's not really true right, we probably can see the Holy Spirit, will he be there but he's also inside everyone, and then God in the Old Testament took on forms all the time. This world and all the worldly people who hate God is kind of silly I really want to understand the whole picture of everything soon. I'm sure it'll always be in a way simple to us we'll just be living in this "Kingdom" type place and I guess that's what God wants, why? Well what else would he want? I don't know, yeah well he has things he wants he wants that. Even the Atheist world view if you take out God things make zero sense and are weird and in fact are probably even weirder and stranger. It's too strange! All of it. God never explains himself in fact he usually does the opposite. I do believe he is eternal good and doesn't lie so in a sense we understand everything going on but also really don't at all.

I hope everyone is meditating on the Kingdom and praying and waiting to go home. You don't have a soul, you are a soul and you have a body. Just pray and wait and stay away from sin and we can see Jesus soon and let's be sure we can feel as least guilty as possible when we do. We can do it! And remember to be content! I know I'm talking to myself but that's okay, I need to be more content I get essentially stressed because I feel bad about any sin and then I also fail in many of my attempted works and adventures. But always be content. If you're not suppose to be Hudson Taylor then you're not suppose to be. God doesn't need everyone to be someone like that. >>12802 Don't throw your hippie acronyms at me, you need a spanking still young man. I'll never understand all the mysterious of God. The problem is not how he always existed but why does he have a personality and likes and dislikes? Well, why wouldn't he what is the alternative? What is anything? Why all the pearls why all the hair? Such cannot be understood outside gangster movie quotes: it is what it is. I'm happy with that but, I'm bothered a bit because I don't like the world very much at all and I'd like to finish up here and go see the truth of everything the Kingdom and I wanna see my saviour again and forever be with him. The Apostles went decades after Jesus, they saw him just ascend and then, back to normal life the world and you just have to live in the world for so long until you get to go. I'd like to do all the work I have here, I'm not very good at it though. Being content is hard then I don't want to disappoint Jesus. World is queer and ugly unbelievably so. Just small glimpses of holiness in the devil's territory. Israel just existed as a safe space for the Messiah blood line, the whole time Israel is just surrounded by madness of the world and then it became the world, go listen to traditional Jews today, they'll tell you "it's not about going to Heaven we want to improve the world that's what makes us different." It's more about being apart of the world to them. Christians must reject the world as Israel did, that was the whole point, God gave them the commandments to keep them, well it's all off topic at this point. I don't like the doctrine stuff much and other nonsense people get into, I just want to be with Jesus. This world seems very it's nothing compared to Jesus, let us all be disconnected from it and take and show as many people the true reality. I wish Churches were a little better or a lot better and other things. This world is not home.
>>12803 I'm too tired to witness to the general atheist foolish "I hate the God who I don't believe exists" typical outburst of pent up menstrual rage. I do have preprepared things though. Why is there suffering? This life is very very short and our suffering in this world will come to an end. God has let humans create their own world and it is filled with godlessness and sin and therefore pain. Through this humans are tested just as Adam and Eve were tested and passing the trials and being a godly person in the midst of suffering is what God desires for us and what we should desire. Why does evil exist? Because free-will exists and free-will always us to disobey God and that is evil. God may ask people to do things we don't understand but it is always for an ultimate good and he is always loving to those who love him and others but he brings down judgment on those who disobey him. We don't fully understand everything God does, his ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts but when we follow his path he has promised eternal joy and life not evil and pain which is our own fault as humans since we sin. Why is there a devil and evil spirits? The devil, Lucifer, satan are likely all the same person although devil and satan can be used for other individuals as well. The devil was a very important angel God created but the devil gained pride and thought himself above God for just a moment and was sent out of Heaven. He is useful to God in testing humanity. Evil spirits are likely those angels that followed with the devil or those who also committed sins. The devil is an angel, angels can decide to disobey God as the devil did and he and his horde all they have left now is to torture the sinful humans. His mission is to drag as many humans he can down with him because he knows where he is going to spend eternity. God knows the future, as Jesus said he was revealing the secrets which have been kept since the foundation of the world. The plans that a world of free-willed souls may be tested and brought to everlasting life. You must be careful. If you ask why the devil exists, why do you exist? Don't you do evil in the eyes of God? If you ask why hasn't the devil been destroyed? Why haven't you been destroyed? God so loves the world, yes, including the devil. But the devil does not repent for he is full of pride. Those who know God still sin.

>>12831 You know this attitude won't work. You don't have to give up. Everyone wants you to have eternal life, any actual real person who isn't evil. The Apostle Peter writes God is not desiring that any should perish but should come to repentance. God is a perfect creator and he has to punish criminals, and you know you've broken his laws more than a few times. People hate God so much, they don't look into themselves. Jesus came to speak of love and came to release people of their sins he does it so often even before he went to die. All he wanted was to save people and in the common judgment hall he was mocked and scorn by all. Jesus is a sign of near desperation, God is willing to go down to his creation and teach them and we still killed him. People hate God because God will tell them the truth of who they are and what they have done and they don't want to hear it they don't want to even accept it so they ignore Jesus they scream and yell and laugh and with fury kill him. So angry at him and the healing he does in others and the love he preaches because he exposes sins. Mary sits at Jesus' feet. The bleeding woman just wanted to touch Jesus believing she could be healed just from that. Bartimeus cried for mercy when Jesus came through Jericho, he didn't ignore the opportunity and think he speak to him later, Jesus never came through Jericho again. Jairus. Humble, submissive, desperate. Jesus gave everything, the only way out of judgement. Jesus says if you call your brother worthless and hate people and look with lust you're in danger of Hell fire. If you go on sinning God will take every good thing away and you'll be left out from him forever. I don't know if you believe that but it is true, it's very serious, not that God comes to you but that you worship and come to God for mercy and to release you from judgement. I will pray a lot and if you pray during the day we will pray together then. Pray that you want to turn away from your sins, your attitude toward God you want the promises God made; that he will give you a new heart and a new spirit and the Comforter which brings the truth of everlasting life. We can love Jesus for what he has done and what he is willing to do. To cleanse us from sins, to take us away from the place we're headed. It's good that you are done with life because you must throw away your life and go to Jesus, this world is all just dust and will be gone. Jesus says his words will never fade away. As the guards said to the Pharisees no man spoke like Jesus. He spoke with authority of God and with divine truths. Many people would have heard and seen all the great things Jesus had done. The healings and forgiving of sins. Many of them thought it was perhaps academicly interesting. King Herod said he had heard of Jesus and wanted to see him perform a miracle, some kind of magic trick for him, Jesus wouldn't even speak to him. Others hated Jesus for it. Why is he healing these people? What about me? Or some even accused Jesus of being demonic and he rebuked them. While others saw Jesus and they wanted the same healing and cleansing they threw themselves to Jesus they followed behind him these crowds of followers just wanting to be near him. Jesus called people by name to follow him and they did but for some they weren't called, Jesus merely passed by, a stranger told blind Bartimeus "Jesus of Nazareth passeth by." He had heard about Jesus this holy man, the messiah, going up and down the region healing people and he believed and cried for Jesus through the crowd for healing. Let's not wait Jesus let us simply ask him every day for his forgiveness and for his blood to cleanse us and hide us from true judgment and justice of the Creator the Lord our God.

>>12827 Well I already have this list in a thing actually https://sharetext.me/m88fy7exqc This is a Gospel tract I've been posting all over the 4chan-circle and places. I was going to post it here and ask for help with it. But it's messy now and I don't know. I'm done adding creationism stuff I want to add more to the Good News section and maybe just have a sermon section on its own and have a ton of those, but the preacher list might be the most helpful for people. A separate sermon list I just thought now that might be a good idea. It's suppose to be done in order, if you go through each link of the Good News section and Church section in order I think it'd really help any Atheists. Even though most of them won't ever do that. People are so puffed up these days "What!? Am I, me of all people going to learn about God from internet videos *scoffs*, you're so stupid, and I already know everything about the historical man Jesus of Nazareth, yes, rather, perhaps I might believe he was a good righteous ol' boy, but what's he going to do for me, rather, yes. *slurps wine*. I of course follow the academic opinion and evidence on such matters and rather, yes. Perhaps I'll sit down with this Jesus and give him a lesson or two, the ol' chap. I might accept Jesus and all that, I'm not sure I'm ready to lower myself to his level and such. *slurp* *slrup*" Literally what I hear people say. Well you don't want to read the Bible you don't want to hear what people have to say because they made it into an internet video, I don't know what to tell you. The system has programmed people into thinking there's a world of people who know everything and don't worry because you already know what they believe and all agree on and you already have all the knowledge and information to make up your mind about Jesus you don't need to hear from silly preachers they probably don't even have a PhD so they're dumb and you went to college and you have the internet and an anime profile picture and you're a free-thinker perhaps you'll go up and judge God and teach him a thing or too about morality and justice ooh great Atheist-kun your belly rumbles large, O' great King we tremble. I talk a lot. Yes the list is there. I think I am going to try to make a sermon section that's a good idea now I think of it. But I still need help with it.

>Apostle just means "one who is sent" in Koine Greek WHY DOES NO ONE EVER MENTION THIS? https://biblehub.com/greek/652.htm
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KK2JdyhIAto https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0qrz94d_r0 I didn't even know this was an idea people had. That the New Covenant was just for Israel and gentile Christians aren't in a covenant at all. I think this can be disproven simply because Paul never mentions that the Lord's Supper was only for Jews. You'd think he'd bring that up. His letter to the Corinthians he instructs them how to perform the Lord's Supper properly. In his second letter to the Corinthians he says we are ministers of the new covenant. Were there only Jews in the Corinthian church? No, because he also says "when you guys were gentiles/pagans". Pretty simple.
>>12968 I guess of course Jehovah's witnesses as well that's the whole point, they don't believe they are in the New Covenant either. That's why they don't partake of the wine and bread. They believe the New Covenant is essentially only for 144,000 people and also the Holy Spirit isn't really a thing to them either. It's worrying that they believe that stuff. I don't see that there are any differences left between Jewish Christians and Gentile Christians. The division between them in the early church was mostly cultural and traditional. Ironically after the Gentiles took over the church they started preaching about the Ten Commandments which is almost backwards. Because the gentiles knew about "the ten commandments" so they made it into this big thing. Missing the entire point. It's basically culturally appropriation. I'm appropriating your Jewish ten commandments. It's true we are part of the New Covenant but people often aren't told we are NOT part of the Old Covenant, the Covenant that was LITERALLY carried around in a physical ark with physical legal tablets God made for Israel to keep them pure from the outside world so the Messiah could come. That Old Covenant which God said was broken and the Ark and stone tablets are long missing. Of course there's nothing wrong with the Ten Commandments but the idea the stone tablets are what we are under is about as insulting as saying we still need the Ark of the Covenant and the mercy seat for the remission of sins. But that's how you get the sabbath keepers.
>>12969 Despite the fact we are not under the Ten Commandments, the next question is are they relevant at all meaning were they meant for the good of all people throughout history. Keep in mind the Ten Commandment advocates conveniently ignore the ENTIRE Mosaic law which from God expands those Ten Commandments. You know... the law that modern JEWS follow. You want to know why Orthodox Jews dress funny and do weird things, it's based on the Mosaic law which is part of the Ten Commandments which is part of the Covenant, it is the Covenant. It was called the Ark of the Covenant for a reason the covenant was literally in the Ark. You wanna follow the Ten Commandments make sure you follow the rest of the Mosaic laws from the book of Moses as Orthodox Jews do. Or be a Christian in the New Covenant. Normally this of course isn't a problem because "what's wrong with the Ten Commandments, we're not suppose to kill anybody anyways." Well aside from the excuse to keep the Sabbath, the other problem is the idea of engraved images. This was given to Israel at that time because the whole point was to keep Israel away from what was popular at the time Idol Worship, popular as in everyone else on the planet did it. The first and second commandments are clearly telling you not to worship false Gods made by humans hands. It's not about making paintings of a Biblical event "ooooh second commandment." No. I'm not sure if God is a huge fan of art in general, but he does love beauty and the Tabernacle and all that. He told Moses to make a bronze snake. and the Ark had Angels on it. 2nd Commandment is about Idol Worship.
>>12971 People will say "aaah but so many times were told to keep commandments in the New Testament." Not the TEN. Jews didn't think of "Commandments" in that way. When Jesus lists "the commandments" he doesn't list the ten commandments. Nothing about the Sabbath. He mentions "defraud not" that's not part of the ten. Barnabus in 70 AD when he lists "God's commandments" he lists like 50 of them including do not commit abortion and so on. Jews didn't think of God's commandments as some small list of Ten. So very strange the Gentiles after taking over the Church sort of made the Ten Commandments a big deal and in order to make them fit in the New Covenant they had to modify them which is hilarious and embarrassing. At what point did someone say "oh yeah we need to make sure we put the Ten Commandments front and centre in the church." Paul would have slapped you in the head what are you talking about. I don't know why I wrote this, lots of people already know this, but sometimes Christians don't really. I just wanted to post about how some people apparently don't think Gentiles can enter the New Covenant and that the covenant is just for Israel. The replacement theory people will say the Church is Israel and that explains that. God didn't say he would only make a new covenant with Israel and that only Israeli Jews could accept it. He just said that's who he'd make a new covenant with and he did but most or a lot in Israel rejected it. We actually get a sense that many of the religious class of Jews and below accepted Jesus. In Acts of the Apostles it mentions the sect of Pharisees who were part of the Church. And God didn't really call it a replacement Covenant or an upgrade where you needed to be in the Old Covenant to accept the New. He just called it a New Covenant it was a new agreement he was giving out to anyone who wants to believe Jesus rather than accept the LAW aka the ten commandments and mount Sinai and all that. Those are your two options. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtue2oFiIMQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLj_z3kUyHo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWk_0WazqVs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zp-9zssh9eE This of course the only importance is because then you can muck around with End Times stuff depending. Because then all references to Israel are no longer about the nation but about the "Assembly" the church. Just another example of Jesus knowing the future of course he constantly seems to refer to his believers and followers as a small thing, an assembly a rag tag team. He doesn't really seem to have much hope that the nation of Israel would be totally turned over to him because he knew the future. Public churches began I think in the 300s AD but for someone who was the messiah the King of Israel he didn't speak much about his teachings taking over Israel and he really just focuses on those who believe him a small assembly of true believers who loved him.

>>12973 >People will say "aaah but so many times were told to keep commandments in the New Testament." Not the TEN. Jews didn't think of "Commandments" in that way. When Jesus lists "the commandments" he doesn't list the ten commandments. God gave man far more than 10 commandments. Matthew 5:17 disproves your whole argument though, as well as some others I mention below. In Mt 5:17, fulfilling doesn't mean destroying as Christ clearly stated he didn't come to destroy it. We're not under the law, we're under grace, but you should still strive to obey God to glorify Him and to worship and serve Him. The sabbath is how God wants to be worshipped, it's called an everlasting covenant between Him and His people, it's called a sign (or could be called a mark) between Him and His people; and to contrast, we have the mark of the beast for those who serve and worship Satan in the end. Christ and the apostles all kept the sabbath too, and Christ came to amplify the law. And why would you ever look to apostate Christ-rejecting Jews as a guiding principle in how to worship and serve God (John 8). Most jews today serve lucifer (talmudists) or ein sof (kabbalists), which really boils down to them serving satan. And practically all Jews hate the Messiah and some have even said they'd kill him again if they could (like Sarah Silverman, but the jewish supremacists tried playing it off as "a joke", but that's not something to joke about). And Paul followed the Law of God as well. Also "church" isn't capitalized even once in the Holy Bible. In my opinion, you just want to disobey God and conform to this world. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/search.php?hs=1&q=fear+the+lord+and+keep+his+commandments 1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. >>12986 Retain God in your knowledge (Romans 1) Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17) Pray evening, morning, and noon (Psalms 55:17) Fear God (Psalms 34:9, Psalms 115:11 & 13, Proverbs 9:10) Don't give in to temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13)
>>12989 Second line in my post is meant to be quoted, btw
>>12989 I was talking about the ten commandments covenant. We are not under the Ten Commandments, Mosaic law, circumcision.
>>12995 And if a single person wants to disprove that, please do. You will not find a single verse supporting the idea. "But Jesus said he would fulfil the law not destroy it." Yeah what do you think that means? What do you think the purpose of that means. This is the problem with "verses" when you say "Matthew 5:17" Great job. Did you read the next sentence Jesus said after that? When it says the law will pass away when all is fulfilled and he just said he came to fulfil and he did that. Paul then goes on to make it clear we are DEAD to the old covenant. Paul writes out clearly "Christ has redeemed us from the law" and being someone who was well read in the scriptures that was the point o his existence largely that was in his first letter Galatians he explains how the Old Covenant is dead and it was designed for Israel to keep them until the saviour would come. Jesus commandments are this to love one another, to do write, his commandments and law are known and written on the heart. There is no list. Though Paul gives some obvious things that you shouldn't be doing for example but a Christian should already know good from evil. And breaking these, doing evil, well obviously you shouldn't you know do that. And a Christian doesn't want to break the law. But this has ZERO to do with the Covenant on Mount Sinai and you will find no Christian who claims they are still under the Old Covenant actually living like a Orthodox Jew.
>>12996 This is so basic and essential for Christians to understand and many don't and many strangely try to reject one of the most basic principles of Christianity. And I do get a bit annoyed because I constantly find myself having to explain this and it's all because the Roman Catholics pushed this nonsense for so long. A Covenant means a legal agreement. The tablets on mount Sinai was a contract, a legal contract written in stone, That's why it's the Ark OF the Covenant. they were carrying around THE covenant that God made with Israel. And those laws were expanded and explained in places like the whole chapter of Exodus 22 but also 23, 21, 24 and 20. Now Chapter 20 has him giving his commandments and you know what else he orders while doing that. "An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee." Now I'd like to ask the "Christian" Old Covenant people, do you do that? God said to do this while giving his famous ten commandments I mean God doesn't change his mind right this is eternal forever... or is that the meaning of fulfilment? The sabbath wasn't just about resting one day. God goes to explain after telling them to follow it that every 7th year you are to rest the land, no harvesting and we know that even making some one else work on the sabbath is against the sabbath so I hope you don't eat anything that was harvested for a whole year, maybe just eat processed foods or something I don't know. Oh right but the Lord's day replaces the sabbath right, well have fun being inside a church for an entire year. Jesus fulfils the sabbath though, that's I'm not getting into that it's different topic really. But it can't be made any clearer. Yes, modern day Jews believe that the New Covenant will be the same thing as the Old Covenant, and they will be able to make daily sacrifices in the Temple. I really can go on forever, but I shouldn't have to. I'm not putting you down or saying this or that but some people might have a misunderstanding. You are not under the Old Covenant. Paul, he has to explain this constantly in his letters. It was a problem then, still a problem often now. You should be doing right under God. But you shouldn't need to be told from the Old Covenant, yes it's still obviously important, the whole Old Testament is very important to learn God's ways from. As long as it is in context. You can't just say "God had these people kill these other people therefore I'm gonna start killing." Right. Stoning to death for this that and the other thing. Israel was a child. Parents have to explain to children don't do this don't do that. When you are an adult, we are treated as adults in the New Covenant. You don't tell your 25 year old son to brush his teeth and all these things. We should know as adults what we ought to do and if we don't well we can go through the whole Bible for some morality lessons, life lessons. And indeed many seem desperate to want to be under the old covenant. Because God spoke with people so often he did all these things because he had to be, his creation was young, but the Holy Spirit now, it doesn't speak often, maybe some people I don't know but it witnesses to us the path of God.
>>12997 And Christians do understand this. But for those who have been led into this false idea we are under two covenants. Paul just lays it out you are not married to your dead husband the old covenant is dead. What more do you want Paul to say? No one wants you to be following the Old Covenant which is of the flesh, Hebrews chapter 9 talks a bit about old and new covenant differences. So please understand this. Not my idea, it's God's idea I would say, but this is not a doctrine it's not something I was even smart enough to understand I needed it explained as Paul constantly had to explain to others. Obviously none of us were ever part of the Old Covenant. A Jew in the first century would laugh in your face. But when we join Christ we are not entering into two Covenants, only Christ the Church his commandments God's commandments not his legal agreement with Israel which was not a promise of eternal life with Jesus, going under that contract is a bad idea, Paul and the authour of Hebrews warns of this very strictly what it means to turn from Christ and back to Judaism back to sacrificing lambs for remission of sins back to the law of Moses when the law has been fulfilled. Acts 15 put the issue official to rest. Ironically Catholics are all about Peter and how he is this and that. Clearly they never actually read a single thing he said and just used him as a political object to push their agenda even though Peter never set foot in Rome, that's another story. "But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses." Now I'm gonna jump ahead a little but read the whole chapter to see I'm not taking anything out of context Peter says: "Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they." Not just circumcision but the the Law of Moses the Law that the orthodox Jews and their funny hair and clothing and all that follow. This doesn't mean to disobey the law written on your heart and moral law and his commandments. Good and Evil. Why does God say before the flood man's thoughts were only evil continually and Moses walked with God. There was no Mosaic law back then, God gave no commandants and laws. The Jews were liberated from their contract, as God said the saviour would come and he would bless the world. We non-Israeli non-Jews enter into Christ's covenant the saving of the world his Kingdom. Now, people will still say, "No no we still need to keep the sabbath day and all the laws about your neighbours Oxen, that's just obvious." I did the best I could. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HpPEdNOyK0 By the way if anyone could get ahold of the song from the beginning of this I want that. THe loooord is my shepherddd~
>>12968 https://biblehub.com/esv/romans/11.htm Another way to disprove the idea that the New Covenant was only for Jews or Israel. Paul illustrates gentiles as wild flowers who are begin attached to a tree that is God's people. This is also proof of how still important Israel/Jews/God's people are. The tree is one of faith in God. Paul says not to be arrogant toward the natural branches, the Jews. This whole part of Romans is basically speaking against antisemitism. Don't be arrogant to the branches because you are not the roots, neither are they but some of the natural branches are broken off because of their unbelief. Not because of any other reason, they are cut off because of unbelief. He also talks about branches being able to be reattached which people see as supporting the idea you can be saved unsaved saved again so on. It's a tree analogy to say Gentiles are "in the know" they are part of God's people even if they are European or Asian, they may be any many of strange plant but they have been attached to the tree. So anything beyond that is beyond what I'm talking about it's just an analogy Paul is using and it shows obviously yes, though non-Jews are not natural branches they are still part of the New Covenant.
>>12999 Further "did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather, through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles" Somewhat implying it is only because of Israel's disobedience that we have salvation through Jesus. The Old Covenant in a sense would have worked if they actually kept it which, read the Bible we know Israel constantly messed up. Otherwise it could have spread over the whole world. But God once again shows how he knew the future because this plan for a saviour was put in place even before Moses. It's hinted at in Genesis right after the fall and then spoken clearly to Abraham. Remission of sins wasn't really working out, cleansing of sins needed to be done. "Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean!" My heart tells me that Israel still has some part to play, for good or evil, before this is all over. hehehe, that's you know lotr quote I made a funny. Lots of Jewish Christians believe more in Israel turning to Jesus will be the ultimate sign of his coming. Certainly a perfect time considering Israel exists now and in an age where true Christianity can exist without the mega church tyranny of Rome and mega churches and people can really what Jesus taught. Jews when they read the New Testament for themselves they often become Christians. Whereas I find it hard to believe a Roman Catholic in the 14th century could have ever convinced a Jew by calling him names and flogging him and telling him to obey the Church and worship Mary.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQl4KaRtef8 Another Sodom and Gomorrah, though I'm not going to watch this one, we've seen enough. Yes, obviously the place with giant sulfur balls rocked into stone right where the Bible said it happened, yes it's the location and not a single Atheist will care. Moving I guess.
Pray ye today together, I am praying outside. Pray that we will be led away from temptation and not look back on our old lives or old habits and old sins or the world that tries to entice us. If you have been led away from weebism, porn, drugs, rage, depression, crudness, laziness, pride, unlove for others and uncaring hearts let's make sure God keeps our hearts soft and makes them softer. Out hearts should be firm pillows for non-Christians and other brothers and sisters. And pray that we can see these things that maybe we don't realise are afflicting us. Do not argue and get upset, ask God to calm your heart then. If you're a Netizen online try hard to overcome the attitude the internet wants us to take, staying away from Ad hominim and profanity and vitriol and Godlessness but instead being slow and gentile. This isn't easy online. Let's correct ourselves now and take time, are you really thinking about Jesus, is he and God in your post, is he in your speech, all your speaking can he be found there and are you really caring about the person you address. Slow to anger. Bible says even a quiet man at least seems wise. And if you feel like you don't really know God, maybe you're an Atheist or you don't know that you're really a disciple of Jesus. You may have been baptised and confirmed and these things. If you aren't sure think of any thing that you need to let go of and change and turn to Christ. There is nothing between you and God, or is there? If anything comes to mind that's what it is. Those in Sodom were stricken blind by the angels for their sins, but still they continued to grope at the door wanting to sin. Blinded. That is the hard heart. Pray together today for renewal and always pray to be full of the Holy Spirit and confess your sins and confirm again we will do better and most of all we trust in Christ's blood to wash us to be blood soaked sheep and as our shepherd to lead us. Jesus says "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." Let's do the work of the Lord which Jesus says is to believe in him. Let's do his Commandments and hear his callings to us and he will call us to works that need doing when he has refined and refined us like metal. He is the author and finisher of our faith. Pray we never stop seeking him and turn to other things and never look back and when we do return to Jesus quickly and be better for it.

Following problem: women hate me as early as the age of 5. 20 years later nothing changed. I don't know why that is the case. Probably inhereting the sins of my father. I mean how can someone have disdain for a 5 year old boy? But it is an ongoing thread with thousands of such experiences. At this point my heart freezes around women. The worst experiences I have with Russian women, they have something cunning and diabolic about them. Not to mention that I am Russian from my mother's side, German from my father's. It is not only restricted to dating but is a general phenomenon. The only exception is with child girls and old women, likely since I am either childish or too wise for my age, but the adolescent and adult part in me are lacking. I know God wants me to grow in virtue through this generational curse, but the more time goes by the harder it is to be part of society and my urge to get a prostitute to have some female affection. No, I don't watch porn and don't masturbate. The abstaining makes me more aggressive and harder to deal with. I'm at my wits end. Three years ago I was more God-fearing and not ego-driven. I accepted my fate then and thought that everybody has their cross to bear. Mine may be more unusual than others, but it's so heavy that I feel I'm being crushed. There were a good handful of girls in my life I considered marrying but because of my irrational fear of women it never manifested into something. The awareness of all of this is killing me slowly on the inside.
>>13050 maybe you arent meant to be with women just yet or at all. Maybe God has bigger plans, ask Him.
>>13047 No, its common sense. BLM is the satanic commie dog whistle. Recently a Bishop removed the 'Catholic' status of a school because they hoisted a blm and homo flag. In his memo he said amongst other things - all lives matter.
>>13052 I cannot say that. Whenever I could connect with a woman I could clearly see how she helps me in my salvation (growing in virtue) and vice-versa. God has a plan for me, a woman is part of it but my inherited sin and blindness or inability to bond is blocking me from it.
>>13054 hmm, well goodluck
>>13050 >>13052 i have kinda the same problem, women like me and God keeps bringing them to me, but i really dont want to be intimate with anyone, im feeling like the more i pray to be celibate the more i feel sexual urges
>>13073 the biggest problem is im attracted to minors (girls) so marrying and having kids is out the windows and burried in the yard
>>13073 hmm >>13074 define minor
>>13075 12 and below
>>13077 why are you attracted?
>>13078 dont know, i just see those bellies, their legs, that soft skin and... GOD forgive me
>>13079 so are you attracted to them being young or just the way they look. like if you took all those features and put it onto an adult woman would you care?
>>13080 they can look exactly like an adult woman but just knowing the number is what puts me that feeling
>>13081 hmm, kinda sounds like some kind of fetish. does this come or go?
>>13082 what do you mean?
>>13083 do you have instances where you dont feel this way? or do you always feel that way?
>>13081 Just go cold turkey for a few weeks and you should be ok >>13077 Go talk to a counselor/threrapist if you're being legit right now.
Is there a way to overthrow god? All I need from "it", is "it's" power of creation. There has to be some way to trick or force "it" to give those powers to me. All the evil/demons in this world is created by "it", so "it" is committing the ultimate evils against me. Obviously "it" is not a force of good. So we must find a way to extract "it's" powers before I die(because I am the most important being to ever exist).
>>13049 >>13053 Racism isn't compatible with Christs teachings.
Fuck g*d for all the evils that he does. he cursed us with life and then he does nothing but let demons roam earth and abuse us. Someone said that god didn't create us because that would mean he was imperfect. Instead he splintered the force that he was into many souls. That means that we(White Men) are all gods and that when we die we will all be guided by our ancestors to the new dimension(heaven). When the last soul has ascended, then they will destroy this reality(with all the demons(non-whites and women)). If they are able to read this - please find a way to kill me and take me to heaven asap.

As European Men expanded to the east, God brought them all back to their own home and under one god through Jesus. https://boards.christogenea.org/forum/main-category/main-forum/jewish-treachery/130036-council-of-nicea-and-it-s-impact-on-christianity
I hear priests and pastors talk about how media with certain themes (like porn or magic) spiritually open doors? Does anyone have any bible verses or literature that expands on this?
>>13130 thats pretty unfounded in my opinion. unless you develop a curiosity for magic or already had one you arent gonna be really interested in it. Humans dont just see things being shown to them and automatically assume the opinion of or take interest in it, thats not how we work. tl;dr yes but no, seeing magic in movies or games isnt just make me want to be a wizard (unless im a very young child) but it might kindle my interest in it. Porn on the other hand is a different story.
>>13110 hmm, im not entirely sure whats up with that but all i can really say is to just try and stay away from degeneracy and porn, get closer to God and nature, and resist as hard as you can.
i got a discount form a brother in christ cause i go to the church, im sinning for accepting that? i feel kinda bad for that, i already made the purchase so i cant retract
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGvcRnlId4k Ladies and gentlemen donkey's bank! I saw this video and it kind of made me interested in these kinds of things. Is this really what anti-christian "intellectuals" have to say? This is it? This is one of the most disingenuous videos I've ever seen and it's full of lies and weird nonsense and simply dumbness. I believe every minute of this video is worthy of heavy criticism. I was thinking of making internet videos for these kinds of videos because it's really sad people will watch this video without knowing anything about the Bible or even history for that matter and just take this guy's word for it. Yeaaah I'll make those videos I guess. I'm not sure why I'm posting this, I'm bored and world is gay and dumb.
>>13196 your a crypto-jew now
>>13212 To add, I think the best way to force this is to write about Jesus. If ya got trouble with a capital T and that rhymes with P and that stands for problems, then you should write about Jesus. Read and write about Jesus from a chapter of the accounts because it just makes you focus on Jesus and that's where our focus should be, just like if we focus on trying to be good enough for please God we'll never do it we'll always feel terrible because we simply aren't good enough but when we focus on the sin-cleansing of Christ's blood then we are at peace. Paul says Abraham had faith in God, that's what he had, that's what's important. Let's look to God and not ourselves because ourselves are not good enough and need to become more and more like Jesus. Be like Jesus. It's also possible to maybe write out your own feelings of Jesus or some other thing but I know the greatest times in my life are when I focus on Jesus and not on my self and we need to really get past ourselves. Push ourselves aside, hard. Force ourselves out of ourselves. Less of me more of Jesus. Do our best to focus on Jesus and we will find ourselves complaining less because Jesus is the supreme good news.
26 of the 27 books of the New Testament warn against false teaching/teachers. And let's be sure that we ourselves do not become these. Philemon is the one which doesn't as one might expect.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUNohI1WuUw I always thought it was just that if you ever saw Jesus or Moses or Abraham or Elijah in their fullness you'd automatically understand who they were innately. Something like that but this actually makes perhaps even more sense.
How do you preach to someone who hates Christianity?
>>13243 It's largely a waste of time trying to reach scoffers and fools IMO. Psalms 14:1 >1 [...] The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. [...] Romans 1:22 >22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, Proverbs 9:6-10 >6 Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding. >7 He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot. >8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. >9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. >10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Matthew 10:14-15 >14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. >15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. If they won't hear what you have to say, then don't waste your time. If God wants them, God will give the increase. 1 Corinthians 3:4-7 >4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? >5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? >6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. >7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. John 6:44 >44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. The only preaching they might be receptive to is warning them of God's wrath, hell, and judgement. You might want to watch some street preacher videos for that, they often attract crowds hostile to the truth, and you'll hear a lot of verses in these videos that'll help. Street preacher videos can also be quite entertaining. The main verses you'll want to share with them would be stuff regarding sin, judgement, repentance, destruction and hell. To name a few: Romans 3:23 >23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 6:23 >23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Luke 13:3 >3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. And if you find yourself dealing with people of other faiths, you'll need to tell them Christ is the only way. John 14:6 >6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

I wouldnt say this is /sin/ but I think its "spiritually unskilfull": im an adult man, almost 27 but I watch beyblade and pretty cure(glitter force in the west)daily and enjoy it a lot. I know a man should be a M A N. vietnam tunnel rat, victorian era coal miner...stuff fellow Men do. how do I quit this vice of childesness? reduce time and use 90 minutes daily? >and no im NOT one of those age reversion perverts..i genuinely enjoy childrend's shows like bakugan, etc.
>>13346 Nothing wrong with it as long as you disassociate it with real life, even victorian-era coalminers enjoyed child games hidden as drinking games down under or splash around in the public baths (and i mean splash, not a slur to gay stuff)
>>13346 my uncle use to watch cartoons and eat cereal every saturday morning. Being a man (or an adult) isnt about taking part in some pre approved "manly" actions, its about who you are. Real men take responsibility and do whats right, no matter the consequences. If you cant do that then it doesnt really matter what other things you do you arent really a man.
>>13346 The idea is that you're supposed to put away childish things as you grow into new adult things. Unfortunately, the adult things have been denied to many men nowadays which is why this happens. Job quality in many metrics has been destroyed and you're now called entitled for asking for the same things your parents took for granted. Community too. There is no community to be a man in for the most part. And as for modern women, the less said the better. All the hallmarks of growing up into manhood are much more difficult to achieve for men today than they have been for most times in history. So it's no wonder that men today cling onto their childhood toys: it's the only thing they have. Nevertheless, don't give up. This guy >>13350 has the right idea. Being a man is more about outlook and carriage than "manly activities." I feel your frustration because I've been in the same boat and am still partially in it. I'm a few years older than you but it's only been in the last few years that I've started feeling like an adult although there are still many things I do not feel like an adult with. What helped the most was getting my own place to live that's more than just a student dorm room. I have my own furniture that's more than just a bed and desk. I have my own car. Do you still live with your parents? I know you said you're 27 but that's pretty normal in this day and age. Don't underestimate the effect that forcing yourself into independence can have. I understand that's not possible for a lot of people due to financial reasons and my situation was actually quite unusual. What would really help would be having a mentor or hero to look up to but that just doesn't happen anymore. Men nowadays have to claw their way up to maturity from scratch. That's what I've discovered. It sucks but that's just the way it is. I've tried to help younger people as much as possible because I know it's going to be shit for them if they get no help at all. It does hurt a little knowing I have to give the help I never got to receive. My main advice would be to not worry about quitting childhood things and worry instead on finding the things that should replace them. Even then there's nothing saying you have to be a boring, joyless drone whose only interests are his work and retirement plan. Be a better man, not less of a kid.

>>13421 ok but what did it mean by: While I, Daniel, was watching the vision and trying to understand it, there stood before me one having the appearance of a man. And I heard the voice of a man calling from between the banks of the Ulai: “Gabriel, explain the vision to this man.” As he came near to where I stood, I was terrified and fell facedown. “Son of man,” he said to me, “ understand that the vision concerns the time of the end. ” While he was speaking with me, I fell into a deep sleep, with my face to the ground. Then he touched me, helped me to my feet, and said, “Behold, I will make known to you what will happen in the latter time of wrath, because it concerns the appointed time of the end. "
Why doesn't god perform miracles or show his existence anymore? All I ask from him is to show he exists, so I can know that all the bs of life is for a reason and there's light at the end of it all, etc.
How common is satanism actually? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEWD1X-47_A
>>13426 its called faith for a reason >>13427 it depends on what you consider satanism. are we talking about Hollywood esque satanism where a bunch of people dressed in black robes slaughter goats and paint pentagrams on the walls or are we talking about actual satanism such as abortion or homosexuality or pedophilia or bestiality or pride, etc?
>>13427 I believe that there is a Spectrum of Satanism, it's not only worshiping Satan, it can mean self godhood or New age beliefs. There are some pastors who say disobeying God or doing evil/relieving yourself of sin is satanic. When you look at our global culture of sin practice you see that the most basic form of satanism could be mainstream

>>13434 So what if Lenon Honor is black, he still has done more to expose the satanic elite than you have. Fuck off with your race idolatry, Christianity is for everyone. Revelation5:11And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; 12Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. 13And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. 14And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

Because just like the devil and demons you can know God and still just reject him, you don't want him, because you don't want to give up anything.

I've decided to disregard what god said about suicide. he doesn't want to give me a way out of my current life, so I'm going to try to find some proper way to end it. Pray to god to show some light to me today. If he doesn't, then it's the end of my relationship with him(if he ever existed in the first place). My life can't get any darker than it is now. There's no way out of it.
How is it fair that I've been the perfect person my whole life, but the world hurts me and prevents me from having a proper life, but meanwhile, my brother is heartless and evil and soulless, but he gets to have a job, family, wealth, health, etc. Why doesn't god even speak to me? I need him now more than ever before in my life, but he isn't there. The world seems cold and mathematical. Not a single "magical" thing, or anything remotely positive, has ever happened to me. I don't think I want to continue.
Just saw some photos of him on facebook. He now even has his own farm. A large family. He travels overseas. He has a pension plan. Etc. But I still have to leach off others in my 30s. What did I do to god to not receive any of his kindness?

>>13579 >>13553 Why be a sadcunt? You could get creative about how to go about life, try changing your demeanor... Anon suicide is a zero-sum game. You can always change your situation by force while alive but once you're dead that's it. You're dead. If you suicide you'll cease to exist, if you're an atheist you already ineherently believe you'll cease to exist, and if you're a waifuist then even Gensokyo carries its own special hells and tribulations for those who take their own life.

I have heard several conflicting opinions on this and I don't know which is true. Is sex within marriage that is not for procreation a sin? Is it wrong to perform oral on your partner? I am fairly sure that, after reading through Song of Songs, that it is very explicit about oral sex being a part of a healthy sexual relationship, yet I hear anons all the time talking about how leisure sex between a married couple is wrong/evil. Personally I don't believe it is, you are married, Christ gave us sex drive as a gift, and partaking in it with the person you love should not be done with guilt. not that anyone here is ever going to get married
>>13687 > after reading through Song of Songs, that it is very explicit about oral sex being a part of a healthy sexual relationship how'd you come to that conclusion? And also id be weary of things like that which relate to Solomon (assuming this relates to him) considering his behavior in regards to women.
The Aramaic manuscripts were translated from the Greek manuscripts, they say. Ask yourself does that make any sense at all. The Greek Gospels have translation notes like Talitha koum, sometimes leaving original Aramaic by itself from what they were translating from. Very likely the early Aramaic were translated to Greek and were common in Greek long before the first century even finished. Doubtful the Aramaic tradition was kept intact just as even the Greek has not been, the Hebrew has not been. 1% is just such a problem. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aramaic_original_New_Testament_theory Yeah some of this stuff makes sense. Yeaaah what language would John have written Revelation in. I don't know. Why is the oldest Aramaic New Testament piece from the 4th century I don't know. I checked the Aramaic tradition of the Old and New Testament, Genesis 46:27 and Acts 7:14 are still in conflict like a modern Bible. Although the Aramaic version agrees with the Majority Greek Text and in places like Revelation 2:5, Acts 8:37 so on and so on. Anyways I needed to start thinking about THIS now, just another thing I have to look at for my Gospel order listing and other things, that no one but meeee cares about desuwa dessho! I don't even! Tsk tsk tsk. Well really I've already proven Matthew was obliviously written first about 42 AD, we're past that, alright good. My problem is why don't Mark and Luke make any sense then. What were these two cool dudes up to, HUH. Both of them were in Jerusalem in 59 AD which is when I say they probably wrote each of their accounts of Jesus. Mark wanted to shorten Matthew for smelly FILTHY dumb gentiles and Luke was writing for some patron. Again why does Luke need to write for some patron, when Matthew exists, just send him Matthew. IT'S SO INSANE it doesn't make any sense AAAAAAAH! And then what's worse is "the Gospels copied each other at such and such parts." Okay, but, WHY AREN'T THEY COPIED THEN..? Why are small things different? I gave the example of the coin before that's just an obvious example, I mean, what? WHAT? Either Mark and Luke were buffoons who couldn't even copy properly, or what? Well there's a million other things, maybe they really were all independent. In the case of the coin Mark is clearly shortening Matthew and not the other way around and we see that clearly many times and even Jesus' words are changed, "ooh well maybe he said both things or something." noooo... noo.... no. I'll tell you if you asked Luke after he wrote out his Gospel if it was inerrant he would have laughed at you I'm sure along with everyone else for the first few decades until tradition always changes things. The real argument for Divine Inspiration is the fact the New Testament writings are so unique. You can't say "Ah well I get revelation from them sometimes and that means something." No, because you get revelation from other things to don't you? Like at church or, so the fact that a revelation comes to you by a writing doesn't prove the text is divinely inspired, obviously. The argument has to be solely on the unqieness of the Gospels which is another topic. "well I don't need an argument *monkey noise* I just believe." Yeah that's, I'm not, this isn't about that. I'm trying to figure out what happened. We're past the fact that the Gospels are accurate accounts of Jesus, even from a secular point of view you'd have to have issues to believe otherwise. We're moving into the useless territory of the exact year and reason of how the accounts came to be in the way they came to be. But anyways I'll keep at it maybe this Aramaic manuscript stuff will help me understand. I'm pretty happy today because God is really great I love Jesus. I'll be back with answers to all the things no one cares about in another few weeks! See you soon children! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOnGGeNl4O8 Let's all work hard and overcome sins and not turn back. Stop fighting! But rest easy too! The war is over and Jesus is victor, but let us all win our own battles desuwa! We are branches and a branch can produce nothing by itself. Let us produce in the ways of overcoming and learning and preparing for the few times we're truly called into action! Jesus did his ministry in only 3 years after working as a carpenter his life and he finished his Father's work. Come through your trials after testing and be prepared to do whatever it is. Don't give in! Don't give up! I know you won't because you can't the Spirit is a helper and comforter, have you neglected him and not spoken to him! Stop being spicy and start being salty... mmmmm. And use imageboards only a few rare times! Seeing you next week desuwa! "After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzbvW4wlDbU >>13687 Yeah sex in marriage is okay, I'm not sure why anyone would have sex not to make children, you don't even have to worry about storing milk in the corner store because fertility rates are dropping like two different sized cannon balls thanks to Bill Gates and his wonderful magic beans. I'm just kidding ho ho ho desuwa nee~ that's not real ho ho ho ho ho. Silly. Absolutely silly. ho ho ho! bum bum bum baa!
>>13692 It's a bit hard to pinpoint online because the poem is constantly switching back and forth between him and her and the online source doesn't seem to indicate where and when that is. so going through my physical NLT Bible I see specifically in 4:12-16 and 5:1-2: >12 (Him) A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed. >13 Thy plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; camphire, with spikenard, >14 Spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices: >15 A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon. >16 (Her) Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits. >1 (Him) I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: (Her) eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved. This makes it sound as if the vagina is a garden and invites the man to partake of it with his mouth. as for the male, I found this in 2:3: >3 (Her) As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste I think this imagery goes a bit father than simply seeing what I want to see. It is obvious from SoS that we are to love our partner and please them with the bodies God gave to us. They are appealing to each other in every way, made specifically for attraction by the opposite sex, so it seems right that we should partake in what God has made for us to enjoy.
>>13687 i remember seeing this one Christian blog that covered this topic and gave a fairly good argument for why sex in marriage need not nescerarily be only for procreation. unfortunately i can't remember the name of it, but if i do i will make sure to post a link itt.

What are we supposed to do about the demons(non-whites and women)? Last time God flooded the lands to get rid of them. But He hasn't done anything yet since then, and the demons have flooded the whole world. When will God get rid of them, and what does He expect us to do about them? Does He want us to just distance ourselves from them and endure the suffering?
If even a single prophecy from a "prophet" doesn't come true, then it means they're a false prophet, and god isn't working through them. The same applies to god. If he doesn't show he exists, then he isn't real. If god doesn't show his existence today to all of us, then he doesn't exist, or is much weaker than he advertises.
>>13723 >What are we supposed to do about the demons(non-whites and women)? Why do feds come up with the dumbest things to post >>13724 Romans 1:18-22 you can read to the end of the chapter too if you want
>>13612 > I like the Geneva but it doesn't include the apocrypha. WRONG The Geneva 1560 does aka the version that translates "the" in the NT normally, e.g. "the Christ" instead of the Geneva 1583+ that includes a revision that changed it to "that Christ".
I don't suppose you have any statistics that show atheist or non-religious people having a concentration of pedophilia?
