Ship thread Anon 12/29/2022 (Thu) 11:32:01 No.79
It's a shame that shipposting seems to be frowned upon here, I think ships can certainly be /comfy/.
Here's a big guy
Did you know you can cruise on a cargo ship? I wanna do it some day, but it's expensive.
wood you let the ocean rock you to sleep?
/comfy/ is like a big ship and we are all passengers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwQZVtBFnkE

>>79 small boats let you dock at comfy harbors like pic related but big ships let you walk around and stretch your legs, and are better at dealing with bad weather big ships are also equipped for long journeys, so you can leave the world behind for a while as you sail the open sea
>>90 They're both ship.
>>89 Indeed, imagine cruising the stars while sitting on a coach and observing them.
>>93 I can hardly imagine anything comfier

It's not that fun or comfy when you have to do actual work aboard one of these floating heaps of scrap.
>>98 Work is almost never comfy. Tell us about your shippy job?

>>99 There is a lot of routine. It's really not that different from most jobs.
>get motion sickness easily >only time I've ever been on a boat was during a huge swell Boats are NOT comfy, /comfy/. Don't believe OP's lies. Reported for posting un-comfy things.
>>101 Landlubber detected
>>101 reported for boatrocking
>>101 I get motion sickness in a car, but I went on a couple of boat rides and didn't feel a thing.
boat = comfy you cannot tell me otherwise
People who think boats arent comfy have never been in the ocean without one
>>105 Have you been on a yacht off-shore in a storm? Berry much the opposite of comfy, trust me.
>>107 Wood rather be on a yacht off-shore in a storm than off a yacht off-shore in a storm
>>107 Doesn't sound comfy but sounds exciting
>>109 Exhausting as nearly impossible to sleep without a good sea berth.

Do you think it'll float? Sorry for posting phone cap
>>111 I'm not sure? 1750 seems suspiciously cheap for a boat.
>>85 >>88 It's nice to turn down the engines and enjoy the view for a while.
Boats can be really comfy as they can turn to real nightmare depending on the weather and if you're afraid of being caught in a storm. I enjoy watching boats in storms dealing with big waves. I wish I can one day work on a big boat and travel the oceans.
>>404 Wow! That 2nd vid-related is impressive showing massive power of the ocean surface. Wonder where they were? The ultramarine blue during a cascade makes me think upper latitudes? Thanks Anon. Good luck with your dream of Maritime work. Don't let your dreams be just memes -- don't wait!
>>404 Nowadays is more difficult to get a job but the diplomas are not crazy long or expensive either. If you think you are going to enjoy it, go for it. You can also earn a good salary, if you don't mind being in the middle of the ocean for 6 or 8 months. Working in a boat, whatever you are doing, is not easy though. Be prepared to work your ass off without nearly any rest periods.
