The board for discussing all things Star Wars! This thread serves as a simple introduction.
Tips: • Here are some essentials to getting started on the board and integrating into the community.
1: Check out the board's CyTube channel for streams and live chats (feel free to edit the playlist if you're registered on the site):
https://cytu.be/r/star-wars 2: We are currently working on starting our own alternative to Wookieepedia. Once its up, a link to it will be posted here.
3: Don't be afraid to ask for info, sauce or links about SW comics, books, games, etc. We're always happy to share.
4: Learn some freaking Huttese, you scocha kungs.
5: Fair warning. Diehard Disneyfags and Namefags can and will be mocked by the locals.
6: Always check the catalog.
7: Credits are accepted, but truguts are preferred.
The Rules: • The rules here are simple, we live by and follow the rules and laws of Hutt Space. Which means we barely follow any real rules here unless its illegal or stupid. Just don't post CP, don't samefag, don't spam, don't do anything that will attract glowniggers, and keep shit on topic as I don't like banning or deleting shit, unless its necessary, like spam, cp, brownpill shit and raids. Off-topic shit will not be deleted either, but it will be anchored (unless its scifi-related and in relation to us), so just make a Meta general for that kind of shit.
May the Force be with you, troopers.

The Vong are a good sequel to the films
The Vong were a lore compatible addition to the series, and enhanced understanding of the themes explored in the original trilogy.
Yes, the Vader story arc's closure and significance seems to be subverted, but in actuality that story remains a great fiction, and the Vong events do not diminish the significance of what that story depicts. It's really the audience reaction that was a negative misunderstanding of what they naively expected from fiction.
The Vong story grows Star Wars lore from being merely a comic book, naively imitating legend, and brings its lore into a more realistic and maturer reflection of our reality. Heroes fail, tall people from servile races are more likely to become living targets, and China is a distant land that represents a real existential threat to our own. It's also consistent with overall lore, with events proceeding from those from the Anakin arc. Heroes fall and fall short of their potential glory; that's what Episode III was all about. You don't hear more people complain about Anakin not simply defeating Palpatine while still an unsullied Jedi. But if Episodes IV-VI were released after Episodes I-III, you most certainly would, just as you hear fans complain about heroes in DBZ not living to the full potential of their destiny. These are all results of naive audience expectations, and fans shouldn't cling onto simplistic illusions about story, but should allow such challenges to their expectations to help them mature as an audience and as people.
And the children of Vader storyline still restores balance to the Force, even considering the events that followed. Sidious's corrupting of patterns in the Force across the galaxy were weakened, when Luke and Anakin defeated him, and revived the Jedi Order. The galactic civilization would have suffered more centuries of darkness from the ultimately suicidal brutality of the Sith. While I myself sometimes joke that Sheev did nothing wrong, think of it this way: Two Siths extendedly vying with each other, with no serious foe to unify their objectives, would have increased competition and resentment of the other, which their emotional imbalance would have acted on, and increased the viciousness of how they'd deal with each other. This would have led to catastrophes far more chaotic and annihilative than Alderaan, had not the events involving Luke, Leia, Yoda, Anakin, and Sheev, happened to correct their course. The fruition of the restoring of balance to the Force is an excellent story that explores powerful themes about goodness, justice, and balance, and its struggle against disorder. That story will remain a strong source of inspiration in fiction. The appearance of the Vong doesn't diminish the essence of that part of the story, even if fans mistakenly feel that it reduces the feeling of closure. But reality is never that simple, and we shouldn't expect fiction, which reflects it, to be so either.
Continuing in this sense, note that the Vong also are a realistic reflection of unexpected events in our history. The Mongol invasions disrupted many societies' expectations. This is an unpleasant fact, most agree. But should we sweep such events under the rug? No, that would be suicidal foolishness. To do so would to ignore the potential of surprise in reality, and would be a self-defeating fallacy that would only leave us vulnerable to the next civilization-threatening surprise, like that of China influencing the rest of the world, that the West has exploited, neglected, and allowed China to. For the narrative bridge to them, while Thrawn having encountered them often feels contrived for fans, the writers still wrote them consistent with lore, even through inversion. And Thrawn was a worthy rival for Vader, just as the Vong were worthy opposition to the Jedi. Remember that inversion of Force properties occurs often even in the film entries. It's not necessary for me to detail methods to block lightsabers and Force powers, but those who oppose the Vong stories should ask themselves, why should subversion of the Force be limited to technology, and be impossible through biology, as with the Vong? Their's is a narrow complaint that has no real defense.
I present this on a minor corner of the internet, rather than one of the big forums or other media, because chans allow more freedom to communicate facts, and a higher degree of reflecting reality, with the rest of the internet censoring free speech and promoting dysgenic liberal ideology. I ask my fellow Star Wars fans to consider my message on how fiction can broaden our perceptions of reality. And to be persuaded to see that the Vong are an insightful addition to the franchise, and more than just a cynical financially motivated exploitation of the franchise.

Good SW Content Thread.
This is a thread for all good Star Wars content online including webms, memes, image marcos, videos, 3D models, so on and so forth. I am mainly focusing on video content with my post as most Star Wars content online is terrible. All those monotone channels that spend 10 minutes going over the same comic 4-5 times to answer a question that can be answered in a minute or two at most. "What did Anakin Skywalker think of the tax rate" type stuff. So lets post content that is actually worthwhile.
When it comes to edit of the movies Nerd Vault might be the best channel online. An example of a video of his would be

High Republic Dumpsterfire
So Disney announced this the other day. Its the identity of their "super secret" Project Luminous, which is actually called "The High Republic Era". Its nothing but a few books and comics made by the gayest bunch you ever did see and the majority are all terrible and woke writers. In essence its a crappier Old Republic knockoff that's only set 200 years before the prequels. Its basically a retelling of the Mandalorian Wars but it replaces the Mandalorians with "Space Vikings". The Vong are also supposedly going to be a part of this as are sith gods and the "Sith Empire".
But the real kicker is that shortly after this moronic announcement, Bob Iger officially stepped down as CEO of Disney which has many people talking about this High Republic shit being the first sign of the fall of Disney's Star Wars and possibly Disney as a whole which is still in massive debt caused by a lot of their recent acquisitions, the most notable being 20th Century Fox (which they have since renamed 20th Century).
So is this the end? Has SW finally taken its first step to truly being put out of its misery and being put to rest?

The Kenobi Show!
>What kind of Obi-Wan Kenobi will we meet in Obi-Wan Kenobi? Says star Ewan McGregor: "We find Obi-Wan at the beginning of our story rather broken, and faithless, and beaten, somewhat given up." >Kenobi is getting the TLJ treatment.
>As the force-sensitive Inquisitor Reva, Moses Ingram will prove a formidable new foe as she seeks out Jedi-in-hiding for the Empire. Director Deborah Chow and writer Joby Harold describe the character as ruthlessly ambitious. >AYO!
>McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi is a Master Jedi and a master of decluttering, as evidenced by his sparse dwelling on Tatooine, where he has set up shop to watch over a young Luke Skywalker.
>"They share a common dark-side goal," Ingram says about the villainous trio of Reva, the Grand Inquisitor, and Darth Vader. "They're on the same team." As for what stands out most to Ingram about her big bad: "It's all heart."
>We all know how Obi-Wan feels about flying. This Jedi prefers to travel by more primitive means (like this eopie) whenever possible. Flying is for droids, it doesn't mean he doesn't like using spaceships/speeders you fucking niggers
>Joel Edgerton is back as Uncle Owen… and we don't necessarily like his odds in a face-off with Reva. (But as a wise smuggler once noted, never tell me the odds.) "Thank you, George, for casting Joel Edgerton as Uncle Owen," laughs director Deborah Chow. "That's all I can say."
>McGregor is all cloaked up again as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and he's got places to go... like the new planet of Daiyu, which "sort of has a Hong Kong feel to it," says writer Joby Harold. "It's got a graffiti-ridden nightlife, and is kind of edgy. It's just got a different lane and a different feeling." WEW!

Separatist Canon: Writefaggotry Thread
Welcome to the Sep Canon writefaggotry thread, here is where writers can go to contribute to the continuation to the old Expanded Universe. You can write, share, and check continuity in this thread.
>What is Separatist Canon?
Separatist Canon is an attempt by anons of this board to continue the Expanded Universe that was unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) aborted by (((Disney))). As the torch has been handed to us as fans, we must abide by the the rules that the likes of Zahn, Luceno, Stover, and Reeves used to keep Star Wars alive during it's lull between the OT and PT. Thus we must establish ground rules so that we can hold ourselves to our predecessor's standards of quality.
>Rule 1 - Don't contradict G-canon.
The Saga is the base of this entire enterprise, and it is ultimately at the heart of everything we do.
>Rule 2 - Work together to connect our stories together and keep our facts straight.
The main strength of the Expanded Universe was its inter-connectivity and the collaboration behind many of it's writers to not just write stories but expand on the vision of a galaxy far, far away that George Lucas envisioned for us on the silver screen. Obscure references, loose ends, and the occasional retcon make our stories better and close to what was published before the Dark Times.
>Rule 3 - No Disneyshit allowed.
The very idea behind Separatist Canon is that we reject everything Disney has done to Star Wars, and what other people like Dave Filoni have done to the timeline. Therefore TCW (the 2008 series), all of it's tie-in material, and anything Disney has published since the buyout (yes this includes Tarkin and Marvel 108).

They only did this because nip anime/manga is more popular than burger comics/cartoon, is a desperate attempt to get those sweet sweet weeb shekels.
This might be great, if it was Star Wars preDisney, but I bet is going to fail just for the fact that the faggots are going to be policing EVERYTHING in Visions and not letting the nips do whatever they want with the IP, is not like they can do more damage than disney did.

How lightsaber combat SHOULD work.
In the films and video games, lightsaber users typically default to something like a plow/longpoint/seigan. I don't think these are the worst possible stance, but are really focused on things a lightsaber doesn't really need (lightsabers need relatively little speed/force to do serious damage) and leaves a lot of the body open to blasters.
I think something like saber's outside half-hanging guard would actually be the default for anyone who expects to fight blasters instead of other sabers (basically everyone post-Russan). It lets the user cover a very large portion of their body with ease just by shoulder movements (only very bottom of the feet aren't protected here, and those are a pretty poor blaster target as is). It allows advancing quickly with relatively little loss in coverage and for someone like Kyle Katarn, it allows quickly drawing a blaster and shooting people who are overly focused on your saber.
How do you think saber combat ought to do differently than it's normally depicted?

Vader vs Sidious.
Now we all know Vader couldn't win after his injuries, so i have no delusions that he has a fighting chance, at least directly, a fully intact Vader/Anakin? Yeah definitely he would obliterate Sheev, but the Vader we got? No, especially since Palpi deliberately made his suit shitty as well, what i am asking is would it be a quick or long fight? Vader reached 80% of Palpatine's power even with all his injuries and loses. So would it be a thrilling fight for the emperor or would he wipe the floor with his apprentice immediately? Let's say Vader reaches his fullest potential that he could reach with all his injuries, he taps deeper than ever before into the dark side or just the force itself in its entirety, i think he could still sustain himself for a little while after Uncle Palps shocks his suit, so how long and how brutal would the fight be? would it give Sidious a run for his money or would he not even break a sweat?

Why the TIE Fighter is a good ship
Guaranteed Rebelboo Butthurt incoming
Let me tell you fags why this ship is actually probably one of the best Starfighters of it's generation.
For starters lots of retards tend to try and compare it to the X-Wing in an unfair comparison chart neglecting the fact that the ship is actually 20 years older than the X-Wing so they refuse to compare it to it's real competition like the R-41, Z-95 or even Y-Wing which for all purposes it absolutely dominates over.
Most Rebel Scum tend to cite it's lack of shields. Most Rebel Scum before they got ships like the X-Wing ended up dead. For starters while it does lack shields, the TIE Fighter is known for taking a glancing hit or two but it's armor protection is not what it should be reliant on. The TIE Fighter for all purposes is a pair of powerful cannons strapped to a highly efficient engine that not only gives it considerable speed but lets it turn on a dime. A TIE Fighter in fact will out-turn an X-Wing in a dogfight and for the Rebel Scum that are unfortunate enough to not have the privilege of flying a toy payed for by spoilt senator daughters misusing daddy's trust fund money, well we have found none left alive to comment.
Next what the uneducated masses wrongly criticise is the lack of life support and hyperdrive. They think this limits the ship's range but forget it gives it it's greatest advantage. Not only does it help reduce cost for a ship that is already remarkably cheap and easy to maintain, repair and replace, but it also helps to significantly reduce the energy signature of the craft. Many a deluded fool has found them suddenly descended upon by the Empire with virtually no warning and in nearly all cases the TIE Fighter has been granted the luxury of firing the first shot in an engagement, an advantage that cannot be understated.
About the only thing you can truly criticise this piece of perfection for is that is now deserving a true worthy replacement to carry on it's legacy.
Now with this information at hand, care to remind everyone why the TIE Fighter is bad again, you Rebel Scum!

The Mandalorian
Pirated, of course. Yidsney can fuck right off. Don't ever let it touch your money.
That said, what do you guys think of it so far? So far it feels like it's supposed to be a space western. The whole thing about the MC taking care of baby Yoda is going over my head but the combat seems pretty good, and they're actually portraying assassin droids and Imperial walkers as the death machines they're meant to be. The main theme is also pretty great, and doesn't rely on John Williams for once.
