Imperial HoloVision NEWS Stormtrooper 08/03/2022 (Wed) 17:52:56 No.6273
Might as well have a thread about news and stuff. Fiona Shaw Describes New Star Wars Series ‘Andor’ As “Great, Scurrilous Take On The Trumpian World,” Says Showrunner Created “A Whole New Morality” https://archive.is/0eD2H >“Our world is exploding in different places right now, people’s rights are disappearing, and Andor reflects that. [In the show] the Empire is taking over, and it feels like the same thing is happening in reality, too,” she explained.
>>6273 >The Trumpian World >“Our world is exploding in different places right now, people’s rights are disappearing, and Andor reflects that. [In the show] the Empire is taking over, and it feels like the same thing is happening in reality, too,” >2022 >trump hasn't been president or even relevant on the political stage for 2 years These people really are subhuman NPCs that can only repeat the same few lines of dialog until their programmer decides it's time to change it.

>>6273 Why do they keep trying to make Trump more based than he already is?
>>6274 Indeed. It also doesn't occur to these retards that Star Wars is not supposed to be this world, but another world of sci-fi/fantasy. Politics can be done well, but shoehorning in current issues is completely inappropriate and a recipe for disaster. Imagine if ANH had references to Nixon, Watergate, and Vietnam -- it would seem incredibly dated and jarring enough to take you out of immersion. Also, I recently scrolled through the official twitter for some masochistic reason, and I just want to emphasize that Disney Wars is utter trash and belongs in the garbage compactor. At best we can salvage bits and pieces of it, but that's it.
>>6276 New Hope pulled visuals straight from WWII > Imagine if ANH had references to Nixon, Watergate, and Vietnam -- it would seem incredibly dated and jarring enough to take you out of immersion. >5 years apart For us, maybe, for someone who watched int theathers would be in the recent memory
>>6278 George lucas used the visuals he saw in his life and used his autisum to make something new and express it in film.
>>6276 > Indeed. It also doesn't occur to these retards that Star Wars is not supposed to be this world, but another world of sci-fi/fantasy. A lot of two-legged creatures without feathers are incapable of understanding what "art" is. It's not a bug, it's a feature. Of art. See "The Psychopath Code"
First reaction to Andor’s first four episodes appears online; Grounded, complex, expect division https://archive.is/DTvUc >“I’ve seen the first four and it’s the most serious, grounded thing Star Wars has ever done. It feels more like an English-made espionage thriller than Star Wars. It is totally unconcerned with giving you fan service moments, and instead wants to delve into what it’s like for the bit players in this universe to wake up every morning and go about their day. This is not space opera. It’s more space drama. It’s slow, deliberate, complex (for Star Wars) and asks the viewer to do some work. It actually humanizes roles that are traditionally cartoon evil in the SW universe. It’s attempting to tell a grown up story, and I think a lot of fans are going to haaaate it. Both Gilroy’s presence is all over this thing. It’s got that cinema verite vibe that the core Bourne movies had going for them. Puts you in the world like never before. Whether the world can hold up to that level of scrutiny is up for debate, but it is fascinating.” >On the subject of characters, the user referred to the titular character as the least interesting when compared to Mon Mothma and Stellan Skarsgård’s Luthen Rail, “Of the first 4, Luthen and Mon Mothma are def the rebel MVPs. Even the wetback is getting outshine in his own show.
‘Star Wars: Visions’ EP James Waugh On Bringing Anime Into The ‘Star Wars’ Universe And Taking The Series On A “Global Tour” For Volume Two https://archive.md/b1mRO >The series brings together some of the world’s best anime creators to develop new stories taking place in the Star Wars universe with a Japanese influence. The series has been renewed for a second season, which Waugh says will expand outside of Japan, with each episode using different animation studios and drawing influence from different cultural perspectives. >Anime is popular >Make anime about star wars with different nip studios >Second season is not going to be anime any more Beyond retarded.

Andor actor Denise Gough on how her character arc addresses gender politics in the age of Palpatine https://web.archive.org/web/20220819085126/https://www.gamesradar.com/andor-denise-gough-female-villain-gender-politics/ >Gough's arc will address gender politics in the age of Palpatine in a timely fashion: "As a woman, in that world, for her to advance in any way, she has to be like 10 times better than anyone else in that room. And that felt really relevant to everything we're going through right now." As such, she believes viewers will be "on [Dedra's] side". To a point, anyway... "It's a clever thing to do, to show you how hard she has to work," reckons Gough. "It kind of brings you in to feel cheerleader-y for her – and then you'll be like, 'She's a psycho!' So be careful supporting her..."
Disney quietly cans Rogue Squadron movie (or, at least, stops pretending it's not in development hell). https://archive.ph/wip/WwswI https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2022/09/16/nolte-woke-disney-forced-cancel-last-scheduled-star-wars-movie/
>>6354 >Womyn involved >gets cancelled anyway What a shame, I wish they launched that dumpster fire.
>>6278 >New Hope pulled visuals straight from WWII It never occurred to me that the Empire was supposed to be nazis, for the simple reason that germans never had this kind of empire. It was the british who did. Not to mention that living in an empire, or fighting one, is still part of collective memory outside of braindead yankland. Rebels would fight for independence against empires, be heroes even, but that never turned those empires into evil caricatures like it happened to nazis. Which is yet another reason not to associate the SW Empire to nazis.

James Earl Jones signs over rights to voice of Darth Vader to be replaced by AI https://archive.md/XPYW5 >Respeecher's re-creation of Vader's voice can be heard in the recently released Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries and was a momentous accomplishment for the company No wonder the voice sounded with no personality.
>>6405 Why don't they hire Matt Sloane instead?
>>6403 >Not to mention that living in an empire, or fighting one, is still part of collective memory outside of braindead yankland. I hope you're not talking about other first-worlders. Yurofags for instance absolutely do think they're fighting an empire (Russia).
>>6406 Probably because (((Disney))) is controlled by money grubbing muuns.
>>6406 Matt Sloan, Scott Lawrence (you know, the other black guy with deep voice that i voicing Vader for like 30 years already).. but Disney led SW is just awful.
>>6273 >Scurrilous Doesn't that carry specific connotations of slander, falsehood, or disingenuous FUD? I assume they're correct, but I doubt it was intentional.
Tony Gilroy Unpacks ‘Andor’ Ep. 4: Mon Mothma Is ‘a Nancy Pelosi Character’ https://archive.md/UgbyD >"In many ways her story is the most tense story in the whole show," Gilroy tells IndieWire about Mon Mothma. >Anyone who follows the canon — she’s sort of a Nancy Pelosi character, isn’t she? She’s kind of trying to do good or whatever she’s trying to do, and she’s losing — I mean, I don’t know. She a powerful presence in the Senate but she’s facing defeat after defeat after defeat as the Empire is taking over here. She’s always presented as very proper and sober and perfectly put together all the time in canon.
>>6424 That's weird, I don't remember Mon Mothma having a denture and being drunk on boxed wine.
>>6425 She also doesn't pass legislation that directly benefits her husband's investment portfolio. The only thing more laughable is if the bitch had compared her to Hillary Clinton.
>>6424 >powerful presence in the Senate I don't recall that. She wasn't even on the big league, she was just one of the few who organized the Rebellion, for a start the guy who backed the whole shebang was Bail Organa and the militant guy was Garm Bel Iblis. She only became the uncontested leader after Iblis departure and Bail death.
>>6424 >Anyone who follows the canon >I mean, I don’t know Really sums up everything you need to know about the "people" who pretend to like nu Wars.

Oh nooooo Doomcuck sisters, it seems like we've lost again... Damon Lindelof hired to write a script for a new Disney Wars movie that will be directed by a diverse woman.
>>6461 >Doomcuck Is that faggot still around? Is he still doing his 'gaiz i got a really real inside source at yidsney that says they're really mad at the people who ruined star wars and things are finally going to change' shtick?
>>6462 He was entertaining for a little while, but when he kept going on about "giving second chances" to Disney, I tuned out. Disney is obviously unredeemable and NuWars needs to be sent to the trash compactor. At most, you could turn porgs into a delicacy, and turn Kylo Ren into a dark side version of Rango Tel, but that's about it.

https://archive.ph/wip/QFE7i >Iger is back as CEO I thought Chapek was setup as the fall guy for Disney failing from Iger's fuckups, but he has barged his way back in to claim credit for his own disaster.
https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2022/11/29/nolte-hundreds-thousands-literally-lose-their-faith-disneys-star-wars/ Under Disney, those who registered their religion as "Jedi" in the UK droped by 90%. Minor, but worth noting.
>>6486 >"jedi" >IRL I understand Alec guiness more by the day
>>6486 >yidsney soy wars is so bad even the autistic retards that made star wars their entire life and only personality trait are abandoning ship
>>6273 Holy shit why can't these faggots forget about the real world for a minute and just get immersed? Escapism seems to be a lost art nowadays.

Disney Gives Up on $3,000 a Night Star Wars Hotel https://archive.ph/DQw7m >Huh. That’s weird. It turns out that a windowless hotel with no swimming pool that only allows guests to leave the grounds to go to one theme park for one afternoon … that can only be afforded by a tiny, wealthy, quickly-exhaustible fraction of a company’s larger fanbase … was not a brilliant business plan? The gag of it all.
Florida attorney specializing in special districts suspects that Bob Iger's repeatedly asserting that Disney is Reedy Creek Improvement District may expose him and/or company to securities fraud charges. https://invidious.snopyta.org/_3Ba4aTZ-pE?t=69
